I too suffer from shoulder <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>neck</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>pa<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>in</span></span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> after an MRI it was discovered that I had disc protrusions at three levels caused by a rear end motor vehicle accident a year earlier and that the shoulder pain was referred from the neck. I agree with the prior post about insisting on the neck MRI although I would only think of surgery as a last resort.
I share your frustration <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> worry. I have had a similar headache <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>pa<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>in</span></span> on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>the</span> right <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>side</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>of</span> my body (mostly arm <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> hand) for over 2 years now. I have had neck x-rays and MRIs of my brain and neck. So far I have seen 4 doctors who have given 4 different diagnoses. Currently I am seeing a neurologist who suggested that I slowly reduce my acetaminophen intake and use ibuprophen instead. my best wishes; please post again if you get any answers and I will do the same.
2011 in the past few months I have developed a constant <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>pa<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>in</span></span> in my left <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> sometimes my right shoulder blade. It becomes worse <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> moves to my outer area of my left spine and causes a burning sensation. Anything I do seems to make it inflamed. e.g. carrying a bag on my shoulder, learning over the counter at work. cutting sewing etc. any suggestions please.
I have a very tender area between my shoulder blades on my spine, my arm really hurts between <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>the</span> right <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>side</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>of</span> my <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>neck</span> all <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>the</span> way past my elbow. I know it isn't broken, but wonder if I injured my spine or a tendon. At any rate, it is almost unbearable now. No OTC pain killers are working to make it better. I am also having a constant headache, which may be due to a sinus infection. I am on antibiotics for that. I have an appointment with a neurosurgeon in 3 weeks.
I have had the <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>pa<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>in</span></span> in <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>the</span> hip <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> down <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>the</span> leg <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> in <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>the</span> left <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>side</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>of</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>neck</span>, shoulder <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> arm, <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> hand. It almost seems like my left side is "frozen up". When you take your arm and put it behind your back does it freeze up on you? If you work hard and then sit is it hard to get up? Also when you sit for long periods and get up and take a step does it feel like your leg is going to collapse from the pain and nerve pinching. Well, if this sounds remotely familiar see a chiropractor.
It radiates around <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>the</span> right <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>side</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>of</span> my head <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> at times causes excruciating <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>pa<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>in</span></span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> a numb like sensation in my right ear. my chiro adjusts my neck and mentions that there is heat and inflamation around the c-spine area, especially at the top where the atlas muscle is. His helper, does trigger point therapy on my neck and shoulders. This seems to help way more than the adjustments. my regular physician is very uncomfortable with the chiro adjusting my neck.
<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>the</span> right <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>side</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>of</span> my <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>neck</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> front part <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>of</span> my shoulder has been hurting for a week now. It gets worse when I sleep. I have never had surgery or any pre-existing health concerns regarding this. I am positive my pillows play a large role in this and I have been a little bit stressed because it is around the holidays. I was traveling and also I have been learning A LOT of new things at work. Could it be stress and pillow related or something else? Should I go to the doctor?

I had an MRI done and it showed two bulging discs on my C5/ C6 area, a tear in my tendon, along with impingement on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>the</span> nerve. <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>the</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>pa<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>in</span></span> radiated down my left <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>side</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>of</span> my <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>neck</span>, into the shoulder and down the left arm to my fingers. First I thought I'd slep on it wrong but after a couple of days the pain increased. I was concerned that I was having a stroke or heart attack. the pain/burning has moved up into my shoulders and the burning is constant. I feel pain when I lift my arms or movement.

A little over a week ago I woke up with what felt like a pulled muscle in my neck, which causes stiff <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>neck</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>pa<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>in</span></span> in my <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>neck</span> <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>and</span> shoulder on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>the</span> right <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>side</span>. Two days later, it had radiated up to my jaw and ear (still right side only) and sometimes would cause me to feel pain behind my right eye-sort of like a migraine. A day after that I had pain at the base of my skull on the right side alone with an almost burning sensation in my neck and shoulder.
