jaw-pain

Avatar m tn For the first day, the pain radiated to the left jaw, and for a while seemed to originate from the jaw. Today the pain and pressure is better, but is now radiating to a slight soreness in the left collarbone area. I've also noticed that the pressure sometimes moves up toward the sinuses. I can also feel the pressure slightly in my throat. I have been experiencing some sinus pressure, along with a slightly stuffy nose and post-nasal drip.
Avatar n tn The fever did not recur and she is absolutely fine with her activities. What could be the reason for the sudden neck pain and fever ? She is showing the symptoms of jaw-teeth onset though.
Avatar f tn How old is your son? Are these baby teeth or adult teeth? I wouldn't pull any adult teeth unless absolutely necessary. Yes, the wisdom teeth could potentially fill in that space but there are complications with that. As the wisdom teeth come in, they don't move sideways into the space but rather, they tilt in and lean in sideways which causes problems with the jaw bone.

Avatar f tn Your temporomandibular joint is a hinge that connects your jaw to the temporal bones of your skull, which are in front of each ear. It lets you move your jaw up and down and side to side, so you can talk, chew, and yawn. Problems with your jaw and the muscles in your face that control it are known as temporomandibular disorders (TMD). But you may hear it wrongly called TMJ, after the joint. Causes of TMD We don’t know what causes TMD.
Avatar m tn My main concern is jaw pain. After short periods of running I am experiencing pain, specifically around my joints. After doing some light background research I saw this this could be linked to heart disease. Before anyone responds a few points should be made. -I was tested extensively for heart issues when I was 4 due to a benign heart murmur. - I have scoliosis which causes one of my legs to be approx .25 inches shorter than the other. I require the use of a lift in one shoe.
1127040 tn?1289718662 Most people with aortic aneurysms, especially ones in the chest area (thoracic aortic aneurysms ), do not have symptoms. Symptoms may occur if and when the aneurysm gets bigger and puts pressure on surrounding organs. Shortness of breath can relate to a heart condition if the heart is not pumping enough oxygenated blood into circulation as well as many other causes. Aneurysm can cause hoarsness.
Avatar n tn I have had pain in the left joint of my jaw for years now. As far as I can remember I have not been knocked in that area. The area of pain can stretch from the lower jaw area right up to my ear and can even give me neck pain. It causes pain when I open my mouth wide and always feels like the bones are 'clicking' and 'clunking' out of place. I have had phisio on the joint but that is only a stretch of the muscle and the pan is always present.
Avatar f tn My dentist explained to me that I had TMJ syndrome. It causes discomfort in the jaw and the pain is right infront of the ear.
Avatar m tn Only other things that have been bothering me lately is a bit of popping/pressure equalising in my left ear and a little bit of pain in my knees although i think this is a bit of runners knee from a lot of running and deep squatting recently. Any ideas on this and whether it is something that should be of concern?

Avatar f tn Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw. 977806 tn?1249067346 One (or both, who knows) of the TX drugs causes bruxism, grinding your teeth in your sleep. Think it's the riba. The grinding can make your jaw hurt in the morning. I ground through a gold crown on TX. See if your dentist can make you a biteguard (also called night guard) so you don't ruin your molars while saving your liver.

Avatar n tn s know if you have ever had braces before, but if so, or if you grind your teeth, there is a very good chance you might have TMJ. It causes severe jaw pain because the jaw is not aligning correctly. If it is, you generally can not open your mouth as far due to tightening or sometimes you can even feel or hear it pop.
Avatar n tn This website has the best explanation that I have seen. http://www.aafp.org/afp/20050815/623.html Yes, your tests indicate you are hyperthyroid. Now you and your Drs. need to determine the cause. When I had a hot nodule, my biggest complaint was pain in my tooth, jaw and ear. I don't think that dental work caused the thyroid condition. I do believe that my enlarged thyroid put pressure on a nerve causing the pain. It seems a strange coincidence about the crown though.
Avatar f tn I understand that a diagnosis from health experts are necessary but I need to know if anyone has had similar experiences. Recently, my hands and feet have been red when they want, almost inflammatory in nature, and I can't figure out the cause. Nextly, both my legs experience pain in the past week, and my left leg has been getting an absolute plethora of vericose veins/spider veins in only 24 hours. I went to the ER twice.
Avatar n tn This is due to an inflammation in the temporal artery and other arteries in the body. Symptoms include one sided headache pain in the temple and jaw that may be triggered by chewing. This condition can be diagnosed by a blood test called an ESR and a biopsy of the artery. It is very important to rule this diagnosis out as it is highly treatable and if left untreated it can lead to vision loss. It is exceedingly rare in people younger than 55, and is more common in even older age groups.
1472584 tn?1289778898 If the pain won’t subside or there is progressive worsening then you may need to undergo x-ray of jaw, serum alkaline phosphatase and calcitonin level, radio imaging of the jaw joint will help to evaluate. I suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper antibiotic therapy, to check infection, with painkillers. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Does anyone suffer from lower jaw pain? I have intermittent pain on both sides of my lower jaw but chewing doesn't make the pain worse.
Avatar f tn It just hit me like a ton of bricks. The pain is a throbing kind of pain and it will ease up after several minutes, then come back as bad, if not worse, than before. I almost feel as though it's situated inside my ear and it's causing the nerves along my upper and lower right jaw to hurt. I'd say on a scale of 1-10, the pain is around 7, possibly even 8 at times. It gets worse when I lie down on my back. It isn't relieved by cold or heat applied to the area.
