Common Questions and Answers about Causes of fainting eyes open

fainting

Avatar f tn t seizure you were having but simple fainting. The most important cause of fainting is the abnormal activation of vagus nerve, which leads to the impariment of the blood supply to the brain. Are you taking some diuretics, hyponatremia can also cause fainting. You might simply be dehydrated. But I think you are most probably having seizures because the syptom of loose bladder strongly points towards seizures. Electoencephalography will help to do the right classification.
Avatar f tn I was later told that I was found between the tub and the toilet(no where I sat),with my eyes open and unconscious. I remember flashes of events and I remember telling that I am fine but I was not able to be fully conscious. It lasted for about 15-20 minutes. I was told that sprinkling water and slapping my face made no effect on me.What could be the reason.I am 28 year old female and had experienced nothing like this before. Can a low pressure cause this?
1293180 tn?1272293255 And if I close my eyes while sitting up for any reason other than blinking I see the horrible, scary visions that disappear from my mind the minute I open my eyes, and it becomes hard to breath and my heart feels light and fluttery, which makes my stomach reel. And if I stand up everything starts spinning in my head. I don't know what could be wrong with me. Does anyone have any clue? I've been to the hospital and they ran quite a variety of tests and came up with absolutely nothing.
Avatar m tn ll just go in and that was the end of it. but still, I am unaware of the causes? Can anyone share some information that might help or anything, please and thank you, it is pretty scary for me.
Avatar f tn leave your eyes open and shake you head back and forth - thats what I saw when I opened my eyes). Does anyone know what causes this? I'm so afraid its going to happen again. Thanks!
Avatar n tn For the past couple weeks, at night, I have been getting extremely heavy eyes. The best way to describe it is the feeling you get when you first wake up in the morning & turn on a bright light & you just can't force your eyes to open. My eyes get so heavy, I can't even open them for about 15-20 seconds, then they open up. Like I said, this has just come on & I am starting to get kind of worried. Please help!
Avatar m tn Hi there, I can well understand your dilemma at the moment. You probably had an episode of fainting which needs a detailed examination because of multiple causes behind it. Decreased blood flow to the brain due to heart pump failure, decreased tone in blood vessels or low blood or fluid volume to be pumped. These could be heart rhythm, structural or valvular lesions, postural hypotension, anemia, dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
Avatar f tn Not sure but get your heart checked out. You can get fainting with heart stuff.
Avatar f tn whenever i look at mirror i can see double vision or ghosting, one shadow now appears as many shadows depending on the and angle and amount of light, whenever i watch television i can see minor double/ghosting vision(this is very disturbing). The thing is that the double/ghosting vison is exactly the same in both eyes(the image does not change at all when i switch between eyes), this leades me to believe it could possibly be a problem with the visual cortex? Any opinions?
Avatar m tn My girlfriend came in seconds after she heard me drop and saw me trembling on the floor with my eyes and mouth open. After about 30 seconds, I regained consciousness with no recollection of collapsing and a bloody lip from biting it. I went to the hospital and they ran a cat scan, EEG, and blood tests, but said there was no sign of epilepsy. (nothing was wrong, except a slightly high White blood cell count).
Avatar f tn t feel so good (he was standing at the toilet at the time), he stood staring for a couple of seconds and then slowly fell towards me, luckily I caught him but he had his eyes open and he was making a strange noise. I laid him down on his side and then the strange noise he was making stopped, his eyes closed and he looked as though he had fallen asleep. This lasted a couple of seconds, he then rose up not remembering a thing. I noticed he did not go the usual grey colour this time.
Avatar n tn Is it common to have a 15 min episode of these that are present with eyes open and shut in the exact same location in my field of vision, but years apart (5years ago?)? I had a L shaped area that if seen on a clock face extend from 7pm to 11pm. This thin tiny area seems to move inside this boundry with jagged black and white bands, like a strobe effect juts in this thin L shape area at the edge of my file of vision. WIkipedia has a great diagram that was exactly what I saw a slice of.
Avatar n tn She also complains that when she moves her eyes up, down, side to side it causes pain. She has headaches and nausea as well. So far the doctors have labled the seizures as unknown, her EEG was normal, no signs of stroke or seizures. This is puzzling me a great deal and I'm worried about her. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Last week, I had an episode of fainting, I woke up feeling faint then walked few steps before feeling weird and sweating then everything turned black. I couldn't see a single thing, the world was black around me so I started reaching out for a chair I can sit on then the next thing I know, I open my eyes and I'm on the ground. I think this lasted few minutes, I wasn't panicking or anything.
Avatar f tn I run about 30 miles a week, and have been extremely active my entire life. Last week, I started experiencing shortness of breath which causes me to CONSTANTLY force myself to yawn to attempt to get a deep breath. I'm breathing in and out normally, it just feels like I'm not getting enough oxygen so I have to try to yawn to feel better. It usually takes a few tries before I can get a deep breath. I don't show any other symptoms (no fever, lightheadedness, no fainting, no rash, etc..
Avatar f tn he is not rubbing at his eyes or anything like that. I am hoping that someone can make some suggestions of other causes. It's not just one eye, but one is worse than the other.
Avatar m tn There are a number of different causes of your problem. If you are not getting answers from your surgeon you will need to start getting independent second or third opinions from other respected surgeons on the nature of your problems.
Avatar f tn Fainting can result from overstimulation of the vagus nerve, which helps control heart rate and blood pressure. Stimulating the vagus nerve causes the heart rate to slow and blood pressure to fall. This type of fainting is sometimes called a vasovagal attack or vasovagal (neurocardiogenic) syncope. The two large arteries in the front of the neck (carotid arteries)—one on each side—have a specialized area that helps control blood pressure.
Avatar n tn I tend to worry a lot about medical things so I'm always unsure if I'm overreacting. I fainted once, it was summer but it wasn't super hot since I was in the shade, and I didn't feel hot. I had eaten and drank normal amounts that day. I hadn't stood up recently. I'd done some physical activity, but I don't remember feeling tired or worn out at all, and it was nothing I hadn't done before without feeling fine. So I'm unsure of possible causes.
