Avatar f tn Ummm actually it is. 6.8 is Diabetic. of course you can weight untill you go blind OR you can take the bull by the horns and lower your BG by diet ( eating LCHF) and exercise.
Avatar f tn If you are diabetic and you aren't loosing any weight at all tells me your blood sugar levels stay under control. The real reason some diabetics loose weight fast is because they do not have such good control. So don't worry, at least your healthy.
Avatar n tn If you were also complaining of excessive thirst and urination and loss of weight and muscle aches; the combination of symptoms might suggest that you get tested for diabetes. There may be other causes for your tiredness and headaches related to the IVF meds and I would talk with your doctor about this. Additionally, going through IVF can be a very tiring and stressful process in and of itself, so don't be too hard on yourself if you do tire easily.
Avatar m tn Symptomatic related causes were provided in your last thread, Aug, 21. You need to undergo testing to find the culprit/cause of your issue. Isn't it time you discussed them with your doctor in person? Sorry, I can't help you further.
Avatar f tn Its not diabetes which causes weight gain, it's weight gain which causes diabetes. Her first step is to lose the weight, make lifestyle changes with her eating habits, and start performing 30 minutes of physical exercise daily. A huge number of people have been able to reverse their diabetic condition back to normal just with weight loss. Read other threads on this forum as nutritional advice and weight loss has been discussed a number of times - what to eat, what to avoid.
Avatar m tn Since you are technically considered pre-diabetic at 100 I would encourage you to learn more about how diet, exercise and weight loss can slow down or prevent the progression to full-blown diabetes. Good luck to you.

Avatar n tn I think what you are noticing is that your body is just working better with glucose levels probably normalized while you were in the hospital, and it may be taking less insulin to cause glucose levels to change than when your glucose was astronomically high.
Avatar f tn I believe you still have a lot of control over where the a1c will go from here. Diet, exercise, weight loss (if you are overweight) could result in your fasting a1c going below 6.0. You will shortly be getting additional advice from other participants in this forum--advice is fine but you have to commit yourself to living a healthy life style to control your chances of having diabetic related illnesses in the future.
Avatar n tn I am not a physician, but a mom of a type 1 child, and the daughter of a type 2 diabetic. I know that from experiences with my daughter it was hard for her to gain weight. When she was diagnosed the endo wanted her to gain 5 pounds. It took her over year. I have a sitter that is a type one diabetic, she needed to lose weight.
Avatar m tn Uncontrolled diabetes can result in inability to gain weight and fatigue. However, there can also be other causes for this, such as thyroid, anemia, etc. This is also something that should be discussed with your doctor. Please give us more information.
Avatar m tn fast weight loss is most of the time lost water and muscles. Fat takes ages to go away. Third: Think of a diet as something permanent. Crash diets just help you gain weight faster once they are over. So, pick some simple rules of a balanced and healthy diet, and follow them. Don't sweat it if you crave for something "bad", to a balanced diet belongs the bad side, too. If you give in now to a small piece of chocolate, it is much better than to eat two whole packages later.
Avatar f tn This is advisable for non diabetic patients. Consuming 2 tea spoon of honey with a glass of herbal tea which includes weight reducing herbs help a lot in weight reduction. Honey along with these herbs scrapes and dissolves the Kapha and medha (body fat). 5. Sleeping for less hours. Avoiding sleeping in afternoons help to increase the burning of calories. This avoids slowing of basal metabolic rate. 6. Avoiding the food and beverages which increase kapha and medha.
