Common Questions and Answers about Catapres-tts patch

catapres

Avatar m tn I'm on a strict diet and on the catapres tts system patch . It lowers my blood pressure but makes me feel like a zombie along with a host of other bad symptoms. My following symptoms are: internal core shaking, lower back tingling and really warm(at random times) constant need to poop and usually when I do it's a loose stool. And then I have random flushing and sometimes out of breath when talking to my customers.
232264 tn?1191248480 My frined told me of this miracle cure for the withdrawls.... catapres patch TTS 1, and since I put that patch on, no restless leg, no sweats, no vomiting. I know you are talking about Xanax, and Valium, but this patch works for real. So far 4 of us have done it. It does not change the fact that insomnia hits, and you need immodium for the stomach, but I have Kaiser and my Dr. has been real helpful.
Avatar m tn Ask you doctor for a chondline patch called catapres TTS-2 which will ugive you .2mg over 24 hrs and good for a week. It really really helps. You can cut this patch in half to bring it down to .1mg if needed. It really takes care of restless leg, that creepy feeling you can get . No matter what anyone tells you this is one of the very best detox meds to take. It will lower your BP so good to check with the doctor first.
Avatar m tn I think it was a Catapres-TTS patch and Motrin beleave it or not . The patch is used for high blood pressure . They also gave me stuff to help me sleep but did not work . I just woke up after 3 hours of sleep and before that I was awake for right around 40 hours with one half an hour nap . And my first post I should have said at detox I did have trouble sleeping but I do if I'm not in my bed . The shakey ness came on after I left the detox unit .

Avatar f tn Ok, so I'm slowly tappering off suboxones. I've heard of many on here talk about using a clonidine transdermal patch to help with w/d's. So I was able to obtain a descent amount of this - - only in tablet form, from a relative - - catapres O.2mg tabs.
981443 tn?1250115802 But if you want to be really safe get a Catapres TTS-2 patch it gives you exactly .2 mg of chondline over a 24 hr period for a whole week. Works like a charm. You can start out with the patch then after day 4 most of the bad wds will be peeking down you can cut the patch in half which gives you .1 mg now. You can then1/4 it and in a week your off the chondline. But buy some of that tape in drug that is like band-aid tape water proof. You need it to keep the patches on nice and tight.
682757 tn?1226867854 So he said he wanted me to wear a Catapres patch to help with the withdrawl symptoms and wear my Fentanyl patch for 4 days then replace it and wear that one for 5 days and come off that way. I haven't noticed ANY relief from the Catapres patch. I get to the point that I literally want to pull my hair out and put my head throught the wall because I can't stop moving. My body is so jittery that it is driving me insane.
306455 tn?1288862071 I used the patch (Catapres Patch--- brand name for Clonidine) for like 2-3 days right after I got off the Tramadol, and I felt like a million bucks! The patch is supposed to be left on for 1 week, but you won't need it for that long.. HOWEVER, check with your pharmacist on drug interactions, which drugs you should NOT mix it with, and she'll inform you well... The Catapres patch releases such a low dose per day, that it slowly reduces the blood pressure to a very safe level..
380558 tn?1309042387 I started feeling jumpy, feverish and all that nasty stuff around noon today, so around 5pm I put a Catapres patch on (Clonidine) for wd's. I have 3 kids running around and they depend on ME solely and hoping I don't start getting severely drowsy as I did before. So..... Day one.. Isn't there another alternative to managing pain????
Avatar f tn I have called in yesterday and today. I am using klonopin and the catapres patch and I am not feeling all that horrible - just weak for the most part, some GI issues which ammonium is handling and no appetite.
Avatar f tn Ok, I understand I have TTS and just have to live and deal with it, I have it over 15yrs now and I'm 38. But, My biggest problem is, is it normal for my legs to hurt so much? They hurt from my thigh to my ankles and I do not have the typical TTS symptoms. Is it possible there could be something else going on? The best way to describe what my legs feel like is that their being strangled where the thigh and hip would meet. Most people complain of burning in their feet and toes hurting.
Avatar m tn In another post someone asked when symptoms of TTS would be relieved after starting thyroid meds. I am taking Levothyroid and started 1 month ago. I have suffered from TTS in my left foot for 8 years and now have the beginings of it in my right foot. I have had all the steriod shots and now have my L foot in a cast for 3 weeks without relief. I am tired of the pain and now with the R foot beginng to burn I am going to ask the podiotrist to do surgery. My questions are; Can hypothroid cause TTS?
380558 tn?1309042387 Hey guys.. I'm still kickin'! lol I noticed a big difference when I woke up this morning.. I haven't had the Catapres patch on since last night (I took a bath yesterday and accidentally got it wet! now it's ruined! lol) I slept okay though.. I woke up fine, too.. being that I was on such a low dose of meds anyway, it didn't take but a day and a half, to 2 days to withdrawal.. So, that part is over with.. Now it's getting my energy levels back!
317019 tn?1532965586 the u/s tech took measurements of the fluid around the babies and it looks like twin a is getting more fluid than twin b....so it looks like i might have the start of twin to twin syndrome (TTS)....i am horrified right now because i dont know what to make of this.....my doc says early detection is good and that there is a doc in NC that is great with the laser surgey that they use to try and fix it....
380558 tn?1309042387 I put the Catapres patch on about an hour ago and I should start feeling pretty darn groggy- yuck! I remember when I went through this before, I didn't have any symptoms, just RLS! However, I cut down to 1/2 of a pill per day before I used the Catapres and that is another reason why it wasn't that bad.. We'll see what it's like this time.. this is also the LAST..
585414 tn?1288941302 So it turns out I'll be on Clonidine (Catapres application patch) for a long time. My psychiatrist says that I've tried all available mood stabilizers (if you know me that's indeed the case, 30 at last count) and its helping on my physical disability as well. So this patch is going to be stuck to me for a while. And so it goes..
1243333 tn?1296446902 I have extensive CAD with mutiplable stent placement in the past 22 months, and have high blood pressure (Usally 180/110 And higher), what effect does the high blood pressure have on CAD and angina. Avatar f tn What would make you think that you have toxic shock syndrome? :) Symptoms of TSS include: high fever, accompanied by low blood pressure, general feeling of illness/severe flu symptoms, confusion, which can rapidly progress to stupor, coma, and multi-organ failure. The characteristic rash, often seen early in the course of illness, resembles a sunburn, and can involve any region of the body, including the lips, mouth, eyes, palms and soles.
Avatar m tn Without meds my blood pressure is 160/100 with meds it's 130/85. I'm on the catapres patch .1mg and it's the only med that doesn't give me terrible reactions. I still have side effects from the med but it's the lesser of the evils. My question is Ive been diagnosed with primary high blood pressure and I'm 27 years old and 5"10' 185lbs. Does anybody have any idea why I feel so crappy all the time???
Avatar m tn When I stopped using opiates I was prescribed catapres for my blood pressure and anxiety. I have been on it for about a year and recently started abusing it taking 5 or 6 times my normal dose (.2mg) a about three times a day for the last 6 weeks. I was abusing it b/c at the high doses it gave me a "high". I've ran out of pills of course and my question is is catapres addictive, will I go through withdraw not having this medication.
Avatar n tn can you take methadone and catapres together? and if you do take both catapres and methadone ,how will it affect you?
Avatar m tn thank you. i just wanted to know if its std related tts all.
1398923 tn?1283120308 Until late April, I was taking Lopressor (Metoprolol) 100 mg, Cozaar 100 mg and wearing a Catapres (Clonodine) 1mg patch. My blood pressure was well controlled and usually in the 120.70 range +/-. Suddenly it dropped very low. I am currently off all medications and am having trouble keeping it above 9040. During the past couple of weeks, my legs and ankles have begun swelling, especially in the evening. I have an appointment with a cardiologist, but it is not until Sept. 9.
380558 tn?1309042387 You know, I keep on telling you how great you are. Pretty soon it will sink in. You go girl. Way to show'em how it's done!
