Ringworm, and some mites can be transmitted to people. Frontline does not treat mites. The topical: "Revolution" is for fleas, ticks, ear mites, and scabies, so it might be a good idea to switch to Revolution for a couple of months.
My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays,she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.
over the next couple weeks i started getting vertigo whenever it felt like my ear was starting to open it would last 2 hours to 10 hours, not getting any answers from my doctor, i went to the emergency rm.
I was told with my first they don't develop allergies until the age of 1 or 2 yrs. I can't remember which. It's been 5 yrs ago lol. Having a cat will actually help build up their immune system.
He played with the cat and loved the cat, and the majority of his interactions with the cat were supervised. Today he woke before I did and went into our laundry room where he helps with putting clothes into the dryer. He put the cat into the dryer and turned it on. The obvious solution is to take immunotherapy (allergy shots). However, when I contacted my allergist's secretary she said that they do no have one. I would like to rebut her claim, but in order to do so I need proof that this exists.
While you were "napping" was someone watching the children?? 6yr and 4yrs is too young to be left unattended, esp. with pets in the house. Children that young don't have the ability to understand how to properly handle little kittens. This is why children have parents, because they don't have the wisdom to make good decisions yet and need someone to teach them. What if the children had gotten into other trouble??
Very very unlikely. It would be fecal transmitted. You can get roundworms from a cat, which in rare cases results in eye lesions, but tapeworms....eh. You probably don't have to worry. If you have young children worm your cats and dogs often.
I adopted a young cat when I was pregnant with my daughter. The cat adjusted very well to the household and loved to even lay on my pregnant belly. We have given the cat a lot of attention before and after the baby was born but now the cat won't let me come near her or pet her. To make matters worse, she has been throwing up (minimally) or pooping in obvious places that I would walk (to send me a message, I am assuming).

My cat was just dx'd with herpes in her eyes. For years, we too, thought it was allergies, but no. According to my vet, herpes is very common in cats. The way I figured out what was possibly going on with my cat was to google "feline herpes conjunctivitis." Some sites will give you pictures to look at and compare as well as descriptions.
Discharge from the eyes have many possible dx's, but a simple blood test will confirm whether your kitty has herpes or not.
