My cat has recently began ripping her hair out in the last week. She is an indoors cat mostly, but she has slipped outside a few times, as well. We live in the country. In the last week, she has been ripping her hair out and now has large bald patches (some are bleeding and scabbing). Tonight she vomited her food on the kitchen floor. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm very concerned.

My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays,she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.

How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.

The vet said since the prednisone worked on her its most likely environmental allergies from relocating to a moist humid environment with lots of pollen from a very dry desert environment. After taking her off the steroids she has continued to lick the fur off her backside, hind legs, and now starting on her front paws. The love of my life Bella, a 7 year old grey tabby has this weird scab-like substance under her chin and around her neck. She has been scratching constantly for nearly 3 days now. When I examine it, she doesn't seem to mind or act like she is in pain. It has happened before and seems to go away on its own, but I don't want her to be in any discomfort. Hi Kiki, My cat was just dx'd with herpes in her eyes. For years, we too, thought it was allergies, but no. According to my vet, herpes is very common in cats. The way I figured out what was possibly going on with my cat was to google "feline herpes conjunctivitis." Some sites will give you pictures to look at and compare as well as descriptions. Discharge from the eyes have many possible dx's, but a simple blood test will confirm whether your kitty has herpes or not.

Be careful not to bathe the cat too much because their skin gets too dry. I would bathe the cat 2 times a month at the most so she doesn't get dried out. Well as some of you know my cat Abby is extremely attached to me and sleeps with us in the bed. Abby cannot stand to be away from me and we know why. I got out a healthy alternative book for cats and it says to give her garlic, and for her to breathe eucalyptus oil. I looked online at other sources which say garlic and eucalyptus oil are toxic to cats. I don't know what to do! I don't want to kill my cat, but she needs some relief! How do I know whats the truth? I have a cat that is almost 18 years old. He has always been a scar that hides from everyone. He has been hanging out with us and around the dogs and is really stuffy. He has a lot of snot in his nose, it is hard for him to breathe, he gags and coughs and has runny eyes. My husband just thinks he is old with allergies but I'm concerned. The daugher with the issues just turned 2, was diagnosed with asthma about 6-8 months ago (does breathing treatments regularly with Albuteral). She was allergy tested yesterday and came up with a 4/5 allergy to cats.
