5347058 tn?1381188426 sensitive commonly to a preservative or ingredient in dry kibble type food. grain allergies are common in cats and most cat foods are full of unnecessary grains just b/c they are 'cheap' fillers for the manufacturer, they do absolutely nothing for the diet!!! there are some 'grain free' diets on the market that may be a worth a trial. EVO, Wellness and Natures Variety are a few. cats can also suffer from environmental allergies....such as what you decide with your kitty.....
Avatar m tn Hi, just had a question. I get ringing in my ears that both my family doc and ENT says are caused from allergies. It comes and goes, somedays it's barly noticeable, somedays it's worse, it's similar to if you clench your teeth, it's that same noise, I take nasonex everyday as suggested by my ENT. I do gave a clicking in my jaw, so now I'm half wondering if its TMJ, or if its because I still have my wisdom teeth?
Avatar f tn How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! 535822 tn?1443976780 It's a very tough year for tree pollen, I'm having trouble, too. What I use is the homeopathic tree pollen formula by BioAllers (same co. as Natra Bio), homeopathic allergy pills by both A. Vogel (Bioforce) and Heel (BHI). Natural histamines I use are freeze dried nettle leaf from Eclectic Institute and Bromelain, quercitin, and Vitamin C combo from Nature's Life, but Source Naturals also makes a very good one, it's just more expensive.
1474611 tn?1416632958 My cat is so itchy. He's got little tiny bumps under his chin, behind both ears (right one is worse). He very rarely goes out. And when he does, he's not out for more than maybe 10 minutes. He's 2.5 years old, weighs about 15 pounds, and has short fur. His diet hasn't changed in the whole time I've had him. Flea stuff doesn't seem to help him either. Any suggestions?
1642731 tn?1300839984 Hi, I've been having this trouble for over a year now! I absolutely love citrus fruits like lemons, oranges, and grapefruit. But last year when I drank some orange juice, after I had a bad head cold, I could taste the flavor of what I thought was just the orange in the back of my throat still up near my nose. I told my wonderful mom and she said it was just nasal drip so I continued to eat and drink those lovely citrus fruits.
Avatar f tn it could be allergies or maybe mono? if you have not had this before it can present as sore throat that is ongoing but is also generally along with fever, and tiredness and you had fever, a mono spot test if you have it would show up positive 2 weeks after symptoms first apparantly.
Avatar f tn the vet also told me it looked like he had allergies, so he is getting zinc, vitamin c and d and I finally found a multivitamin that he will chew. when I first got him he was eating cheap cat food. Well my dog and 2 cats are on Abady granular , its the only one that my dog Giselle doesn't have allergic reaction too, and her coat and the cats coat look great. well it took a good month before Coby would eat this.
Avatar m tn This is the second time I have used frontline plus on my new cat. The first time , he was severly flea infested and was pulling his hair out. After applying the frontline he stopped this behavior. I applied it a day ago and now he is pulling out his hair again! Its been over a month since prior application.
Avatar n tn Hello, You may take Vitamin C along with the prescribed antiallergy treatment. Vitamin C is a general anti-allergy supplement. It helps stabilize mast cells so they are less likely to release histamine. So it can be used for prevention and treatment of allergies. I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Avatar n tn My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays, she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
1232362 tn?1333135406 I was hoping you would come along and answer - thanks FM. Don't you also give Akira a little Zyrtec?
Avatar f tn Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.
Avatar n tn My female cat whos about 5 and spayed, has been straining to poop and also has been furiously licking her bottom area and also one of her legs is down to the skin. Is this an allergy to litter, or food or ?
362249 tn?1441315018 Sometimes as well -- depending on the house, you can mitigate your allergies if they aren't severe by the places you let your cat be (for instance, not letting the cat sleep in your bed with you, even hough that's a bummer).
Avatar m tn preferably with NO carbs b/c many cats have allergies to carbs. for a list of carb free canned diets check out the site I gave above...on the right hand side of her column...BEST COMMERCIAL CANNED FOODS. if you are going to change the food also read on that site HOW TO TRANSITION from dry food to wet.....you have to do so slowly, most cats don't lke carb free cans b/c they sure don't taste as good without all the additives so it take a slow transition.
Avatar n tn In this case chapped lips could be due to contact dermatitis due to the lips coming in contact with something. A vitamin B and vitamin C deficiency too can cause chapped lips. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn A cat that was injured before or hurt in any way often pull there hair out. Pain causes them to pull out the hair in places where there in pain or either itching from healing.
Avatar m tn So, it started 2 days ago with clearly my throat, slight cough. Then it turned consistent cough and sinus pressure. Thankfully it was fall break from school so I had two days off. The first day I slept till 6 o'clock at night from falling asleep at 8 o'clock the night before. I woke up with a painful headache and sinus pressure in my face. I was congested with a mild fever, so I went on the attack.
1232362 tn?1333135406 It might well be seasonal changes in humidity and barometric pressure or a change in air circulation in your house when the a/c is not running or the heating system is on. My sinuses get a little dried out and I tend to get a little congested myself at night from the drier air during the cooler months even here in Texas which causes me to either snore or breathe through my mouth at night.
