My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays,she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.

I did not have an antirabies vaccine back then. The cat is still fine now. No signs and symptoms of rabies. Is it possible that I may still develop it after few more months? :( P.S. I was bitten by our neighbor's dog last Monday and I am currently on antirabies vaccine regimen.

Oh, I just noticed that this is your cat. Has your cat never gotten a rabies vaccine? How is the cat behaving, do you think the cat is rabid?

It is my understanding that the URI (herpes and calicivirus) vaccine does not completely prevent the cat from getting the virus but it usually greatly reduces the severity of the symptoms. These two viruses are very contagious stable viruses that are very widespread among cat. Most cats are exposed when they are young and have developed some immunity to them. I believe keeping your cat vaccinated helps to keep their immune system primed to respond if they are exposed to the virus again.

How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!!
