My husband hit 40 and got allergies to grass, horses, cats and tree pollen. He had never had allergies before. The allergist told him it's pretty common for one's reactions to things like that to change in the course of one's life.

How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! It's a very tough year for tree pollen, I'm having trouble, too. What I use is the homeopathic tree pollen formula by BioAllers (same co. as Natra Bio), homeopathic allergy pills by both A. Vogel (Bioforce) and Heel (BHI). Natural histamines I use are freeze dried nettle leaf from Eclectic Institute and Bromelain, quercitin, and Vitamin C combo from Nature's Life, but Source Naturals also makes a very good one, it's just more expensive.

The fat lip also is commonly secondarily infected with bacteria, so I would recommend a 2-3 week course of antibiotics if not already done. The three types of allergies are parasite (fleas, mites), food allergy, and pollen/dust allergies. If your cat is already on a good flea control such as Advantage or Revolution, then parasites are less likely.

I am also allergic to dust, so house dust, chalk dust, pollen, grass pollen ( especially June grass apparently ), cat dander to some extent and penicillin. I have had seasonal allergies along with dust, cat and dog allergies too since 30 years ago. I finally had 5 years of allegy shot ending aroung 2005, This year has been so bad with all the pollen I feel like I'm right back to day one. Im 18 weeks and 5days and i have awful seasonal allergies. My eyes are usually bad but for some reason this year its all about the sneezing. I have my appointment next monday but i dont know if i can wait that long to ask what i can take for them. Is there anything at all i can use for nasal allergies? After calling the neurologist again, she suspects I had a severe allergic reaction to the outside allergens (tree pollen) and to the allergens inside (cat dander.) Now I have a referral to see an allergist. Now I am really worried because I don't like the thought of not being able to cuddle with our cats anymore, having to keep them out of my room, or have to rehome them altogether... I always get hay fever in the spring and while on this Boceprevir trial i never sneezed once tru the time period when the pollen counts were high but i did have allergies for 2 days 1 month later when the pollen counts were down.The only thing ive done different were taking the TX meds.

m thinking my little sweet kitty must has pollen allergies just like I do, so the Zyrtec is obviously necessary. What I am wondering is if there is a better way to time giving her the Zyrtec. Should I give it to her everyday during pollen season? She seems to need it everyday, but she needs it all year like I need antihistamines all year. But, I give myself breaks from taking the antihistamine that I take myself or the stuff doesn't work because my system builds up tolerance to it.

I do not understand why people continue to use this old-fashioned and relatively ineffective method of treating allergies (not to mention costly). I got rid of all my food and flower and pollen allergies with kinesiology. That was about 15 years ago. The allergies and their misery never returned.

I continue to get sick off and on....I think it is going away and I start to feel normal then out of nowhere it hits me again. I'm running a low grade fever - can this be cause by allergies. Ragweed, weed pollen and mold are very common. Pollen counts are often regularly updated on local news sites. A hepa filter in your air conditioner may help. Wearing sunglasses when out will help keep pollen out of your eyes. Wash your hair at the end of the day to wash out pollen. Exercise in the morning when pollen counts are lower. Rinse off the dog as Fido may have pollen on their fur. Medication can be a blessing. Nose sprays are helpful for some as are oral antihistamines.

i have really bad allergies to cat, dust, mytes, indoor allergies...... so my question is.. do i have to build up the allegra into my system for it to really work... i just found out i have had them for eight years.. so im sure my immune system is messed up since i never treated it.. i didnt know what i had....

Ok so I'm 12 weeks pregnant and I've always suffered from allergies must of them ro pollen, dust, mold etc...oh and cats too... I've been having really bad episodes of allergies, and I forgot to ask my doctor about it...I know for sure I can't take my regular medicine, but what can I take?? Hi BillyVeronicaPepperCassidy, I have asthma too. You say that you are allergic to grass, trees and dust. Did you find that out through an allergy test ? If so, when did you go to the allergist to be tested? If it has been awhile since you were last tested, maybe it's time for another allergy test to see if you have some new allergy triggers. You also said your asthma flared up since you started taking your children to school on a daily basis.
