Avatar f tn I take Piriton (from over the counter) the dosage they gave me was no more than 2 in 24 hours :)
Avatar f tn yes yes, I am clean from Vicoden, Antidepresants but still am using a sleep aid, have been using over the counter meds for sleep since the 80's then went to prescription sleep aid and now I only sleep 3 or 4 hours using them. I am going to go off them soon. My Dr would like to see me wait until Jan just because I came off two meds this year and had surgery's but please don't go to prescription sleep aids I think it is harder to get off them than OCT.
Avatar n tn But, I would like to know if there is an over the counter medicine. I only get the urgency after a little stress. It stops after 10 hours or so on it's own. But, a cheaper "as needed" OTC medicine would sure be something I am interested in.

Avatar m tn t recall the name of this medicine. My question is, are there any over-the-counter medications that we can give this poor cat so we don't have to pay 50$ over and over again to visit the Vet. Sometimes when he sneezes its almost 20 times in a row. Very very odd... any help would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Finally if going to the bathroom is painful run water over the area, urinate in a tub or shower. All these help to dilute the acid in the urine. If you have a lesion in an area that is causing a lot of pain and if it is so positioned that by putting a finger or two on it then put some thing on your hand and cover the area by pressing down and covering the area which will make it less painful to go to the bathroom. To make you feel better as well bath in either Aveeno or Epson (sp?
Avatar m tn You can buy them over the counter or if it is really bad, your doctor should be able to prescribe a prescription strength. My younger son is on allergy medicine year round. Poor guy. If he doesn't take it, he's a mess. anyway, check out the eye drops.
5591135 tn?1380168056 What are some herbs/supplements that are safe to give cats that are over the counter to help with bladder infections/UTI's? We just cleaned the litter boxes and someone is peeing massive amounts of blood. I know its not Milo-he uses the upstairs box. We 5 other cats to rule out. Sigh....None are acting weird.
10366239 tn?1409616907 My doctor said it was okay to take over the counter claritin. I tried it for a couple days and it helped my nasal congestion but not my headaches which was what I really wanted. If you're still unsure check with your doctor, but I believe claritin is fairly safe.
365714 tn?1292199108 MJ, look how many years you've been around the cats-don't you think that if you were allergic something would've shown up a long time ago? I'm no doctor, but I'm gonna guess that your headaches are from something else-you on a new med, change of dose, more stress, fever, etc. Don't let the doctor blame this on allergies without checking out other causes. If it does wind up diagnosed as allergies, there's lots of good meds out there.
Avatar m tn If you can definitely relate it to the cat, see if your girlfriend could/would vacuum right before you come over, clean up as much of the cat hair and dander before you come over, possibly keep the cat in a different room of thehouse than you're going to be in and stay away from the cat as much as possible. This may help reduce your symptoms while you are there. You may also want to consider taking one of the over the counter allergy meds such as Zyrtec or Benadryl.
Avatar m tn We did a nasal bath for him and then he started over the counter allergy medicine. Has worked well. Another son that gets them does so in dry air or post cold. Stress doesn't usually start a nose bleed. I'd look for something more going on with the lining of your nose.
4244557 tn?1371701336 at the beginning of my pregnancy my doctor gave me a list of medications that were safe to take during pregnancy. for allergies she had 2 different shots listed and an over the counter medicine. I myself suffer from seasonal allergies and so does my friend who is due the end of July. I had told her that we could take the over the counter meds and she told me that we couldn't because allergy meds dry up the amniotic fluid. is that true or is it safe to take the medicine.
Avatar f tn If you don't want to have your cat nails cut at the vets than request a tranquilizer from your vet specifically for your cat. Don't give your cat anything over the counter. The doses of over the counter medications are so tiny that it is very easy to over dose cat's.
1329076 tn?1275099956 The not breathing at night could be due to allergies - lots of over the counter stuff for that. Also, the nose strips that you put on the outside of the nose to open up the nose really work well. When ever we go to the high sierras (very dry) we use those and they do make a big difference. Since this seems to only happen at summer, I am guessing that the dryness is a big factor.
Avatar f tn I found out I was pregnant at 9 weeks. I haven't had my first appointment yet but my allergies are going crazy. Does anyone know if I'm allowed to take allergy medicine or any kinds I'm supposed to avoid?. Thanks in advance ladies.
10514421 tn?1412442873 A doctor once gave me a list of recommended over-the-counter medicine for general allergies/illness,in case I wanted to stock my cabinets for sick days.My mom is really sick right now and I want to go out and buy her some medicine, but I don't have my list with me(it's at my dorm room two hours away). She seems miserable and says the only thing she's having a hard time with is breathing.
