228686 tn?1211554707 I've been to a doctor a few times about this but got fed up with all the silliness of what seemed like "shooting in the dark" with medications. I sleep about 2-4 hours a night average which doesn't seem to be a big issue, I rarely feel tired (although it does drive my wife insane). I do suffer bouts of insomnia which by the second/third day do leave me feeling somewhat dragged and tired.
Avatar n tn My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays, she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
1232362 tn?1333135406 I was hoping you would come along and answer - thanks FM. Don't you also give Akira a little Zyrtec?
Avatar n tn Has anyone looked into sensory perception disorder? When I am overstimulated (and it does not take much) I too will often stare out into space and get "silent migraines." It is like my body retreats from all the sensory stimulation around me. (I too have had an EEG that came back normal.) (No I do not have autism or aspergers). Also has anyone looked into food allergies? http://borntoexplore.org/http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! Thanks for the tips and suggestions friends!
Avatar n tn because I have been experiencing unusual migraines, and I’m really worried because my father is severely allergic to Iodine, and I know they inject iodine usually during CT scans, i’ve never been tested for allergies, but my parents have had me avoid all shell fish and I’ve never had an iodine medication, I guess what I’m asking is am I at high risk to be allergic to Iodine? I know allergies tend to be hereditary and I’d rather avoid Iodine if I’m at high risk of having a reaction.
Avatar f tn Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.
Avatar n tn For the past year I have had problems with dizziness and the inability to focus my eyes for several days at a time. In february 2008 I came down with viral meningitis. While in the hospital I had several CAT scans and MRI's to confirm that everything was normal. They tested my oxygen levels, multiple blood tests and did a spinal tap to confirm that it was viral meningitis.
521800 tn?1212329682 I have been diagnosed with migraines since I was 10 I would have about one migraine every other day, the doctors did a CAT scan, I think, that spinny thing where you have to stay really still. But they didn't find anything then. This has started happening to me about once every 2 months and I never really paid any attention to it until now. It will happen when i'm doing laundry or when i'm laying in bed watching tv.
Avatar n tn My doctor has now prescribed 1 week of steroids and if no improvements a CAT scan. No head trauma in my history or allergies or migraines. This is worrisome and polyps were not mentioned. Would polyps cause such headaches and eye pain...and isolated to early morning hours? Thanks again.
2169449 tn?1358489923 I take Zyrtec 10 mg tablet daily im allergic to my cat/ seasonal allergies etc.
Avatar f tn Yes, allergies can develop after major surgery. My doctor says the shock to your system throws things off kilter (okay, that's not very scientific language!). I know a pet-shop owner who developed allergies to all animals with hair/fur after her hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn over the next couple weeks i started getting vertigo whenever it felt like my ear was starting to open it would last 2 hours to 10 hours, not getting any answers from my doctor, i went to the emergency rm.
Avatar f tn I was told with my first they don't develop allergies until the age of 1 or 2 yrs. I can't remember which. It's been 5 yrs ago lol. Having a cat will actually help build up their immune system.
Avatar f tn This can be positive even if they do a CAT scan and even if the CAT scan is negative. I am negative for the CAT scan but have a positive EEG for a migraine/seizure pattern and take several drugs for the migraine and to stave off the nausea, shakes , vomiting, aura and double vision plus headaches I hope they can get you diagnosed soon. I would look for a neurologist with a specialty in epilepsy and/or headaches if you can. If you can start noticing your triggers that would help.
Avatar f tn No food allergies:) I've had migraines since my late 20's. Hypothyroid since 2006. I take 200mcg synthroid. Lab results from Jan -- T3 uptake 33.5 range 20.0 - 38.5 T4 8.0 range 4.4 - 12.4 FT4 1.30 range .73 - 1.95 FT3 3.1 range 2.3 - 4.2 TSH <.01 range 0.3 - 5.1 I know my TSH is not even registered, but I am fortunate that my Dr. isnt going by this, going by my symptoms.
Avatar f tn hey guys, I'm 4 weeks pregnant and the whole time I've been getting sinus allergies from mine and my partners dogs!!
Avatar n tn When I went home I played with my cat and the allergies returned. What could have caused this and should I adopt a new cat if I somehow now have cat allergies?
Avatar m tn Greetings! My name is Tom and I suffer from severe non- food related allergies. Although they can be controlled, I find that my allergic reaction to dogs is so strong that drugs have little effect. The obvious solution is to take immunotherapy (allergy shots). However, when I contacted my allergist's secretary she said that they do no have one. I would like to rebut her claim, but in order to do so I need proof that this exists.
7165624 tn?1395647767 I have allergies im wondering if i can buy certain pills or what do you do when u get them??
Avatar m tn ve had an allergy test this is why you know that you are have animal dander allergies. Do you have a dog, cat , bunny or hamster as a pet ? Just wondering. Be well.
Avatar f tn Your hormones can cause migraines as well. Talk to your doc if you are not able to function. I get about one migraine a week now that I am prego an they last 3 to 4 days. I was unable to function. The doc gave me migraine meds that are safe for the baby. Life is so much better! I hope you feel better soon.
6050747 tn?1378954343 Dr says he has migraines and to use iburpofin to treat it. At times, it does interfere with his school and sports. Curious if anyone has any thoughts/ideas on what kinds of foods could be causing or adding to his headaches? I know caffeine is one.
Avatar n tn Hi Kiki, My cat was just dx'd with herpes in her eyes. For years, we too, thought it was allergies, but no. According to my vet, herpes is very common in cats. The way I figured out what was possibly going on with my cat was to google "feline herpes conjunctivitis." Some sites will give you pictures to look at and compare as well as descriptions. Discharge from the eyes have many possible dx's, but a simple blood test will confirm whether your kitty has herpes or not.
4980051 tn?1361868778 I also take Singulair, which is for Allergies, but my doctor told me that allergies can bring on very bad headaches as well. I noticed that when I began both these medicines, my headaches decreased drastically. Before I started them, I got bad headaches that caused me to vomit, faint, and stay in bed for three days at a time. These happened twice or three times a month. Now, after taking my medicines for a year, I still get headaches sometimes, but not nearly as bad.
Avatar m tn I get chronic migraines anyway, but now I have daily headaches (some tension headaches). They seem to be even worse than usual, and it's interfering with my ability to work, drive, and get anything done around the house. I don't think my pills are safe. What can I do for these?
