cat allergies mattress

I was just curious if there was a long term relief for cat allergies. I have heard many people say there is a simple shot to take them away...but wonder if this is true, and how often the shot would be needed. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a good mattress cover to prevent dust mites? I know my asthma is worse when my allergies are acting up. Do you have any food allergies? Have you considered allergy shots for pets, etc? Hopefully this helps. Good luck fellow asthma sufferer!

Defintely the right choice to get rid of the cat (coming from someone with two cats and cat allergies), she is too young to have to deal with severe allergies. Do as much prevention with the dust allergies as well and hopefully the severity of the reactions with colds/flu will decrease.

Does anyone know what could cause a sudden change in allergies? I suddenly developed an allergy to everything environmental (that I've been tested for.) Every tree, grass, pet, dust mites, etc. These allergies cause swelling, breathing issues, sneezing, hives, and the list goes on. I'm 21 years old. Is there a reason behind a sudden drastic allergy change, or is this fairly common?

I have had seasonal allergies along with dust, cat and dog allergies too since 30 years ago. I finally had 5 years of allegy shot ending aroung 2005, This year has been so bad with all the pollen I feel like I'm right back to day one. My eyes are itchy, my nose runs and my palate is so itchy. I take Atrovent for post nasal drip, aerius for the allergies and I'm also on Advair 250 discuss. Why is this happening after all these years? Will it go away or am I supposed to get shots again.

He could have allergies even after testing, JANUARY, THAT'S THE BEGINNING OF TREE ALLERGIES.. GOOGLE IT. I also have a horrible cough that leaves me exhausted.. Chest x-rays, mri's, cat scans, allergy tests only show grass, weeds as allergy related. He could have post-nasal drip causing him to cough. Elevate his bed (pillows under mattress) portion. He could also have "reflux" and should try otc prevacid for acid reflux..stay away from spicy foods.

My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays,she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.

How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.

I take Zyrtec 10 mg tablet daily im allergic to my cat/ seasonal allergies etc.

over the next couple weeks i started getting vertigo whenever it felt like my ear was starting to open it would last 2 hours to 10 hours, not getting any answers from my doctor, i went to the emergency rm.

For now you can take some over the counter antihistaminic like as Cetirizine(zyrtec) or Loratadine(Claritin) to get symptom relief. Greetings! My name is Tom and I suffer from severe non- food related allergies. Although they can be controlled, I find that my allergic reaction to dogs is so strong that drugs have little effect. The obvious solution is to take immunotherapy (allergy shots). However, when I contacted my allergist's secretary she said that they do no have one. I would like to rebut her claim, but in order to do so I need proof that this exists.
