I'm so confused! My cat has allergies, and the vet has given her steroids, but that only helps for a little bit and I don't want to keep giving her that. I got out a healthy alternative book for cats and it says to give her garlic, and for her to breathe eucalyptus oil. I looked online at other sources which say garlic and eucalyptus oil are toxic to cats. I don't know what to do! I don't want to kill my cat, but she needs some relief! How do I know whats the truth? Help please!!

What has been your best at home remedy for allergies? We have done local honey and a more natural type called Hylands but I would like to hear other options. My son has severe allergies to pretty much every tree, grass, weed etc which causes his asthma t flair up. He can't use singular, claritin, zyrtec, etc bc the cause his behavior to change in negative way. We have had everything pretty well under control but would like more ideas.

How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! He could have allergies even after testing, JANUARY, THAT'S THE BEGINNING OF TREE ALLERGIES.. GOOGLE IT. I also have a horrible cough that leaves me exhausted.. Chest x-rays, mri's, cat scans, allergy tests only show grass, weeds as allergy related. He could have post-nasal drip causing him to cough. Elevate his bed (pillows under mattress) portion. My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays,she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.

ve also tried quercitin and have had some success, but have had much success with homeopathy. I even wiped out a couple of my allergies, using homeopathic remedies alone ! The key is finding out what you are allergic to and then getting the right remedy and not just guessing.

Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.

I take Zyrtec 10 mg tablet daily im allergic to my cat/ seasonal allergies etc.

My cat Jimi has severe allergies. We think the dust is causing it as we live on the desert side of Maui, Hawaii. The vet doesn't know actually what is causing it either . The redness got so bad in his right eye he caused an ulcer which is taking forever to heal and now both eyes are red, bulging and sore. hey guys, I'm 4 weeks pregnant and the whole time I've been getting sinus allergies from mine and my partners dogs!!

So the vet said that our baby was suffering from allergies, but he didn't tell us from what or what to do about it. I'm assuming it's a dietary thing...possibly cheese? Someone said something about giving her some benadryl...are there any other medications ( would prefer homeopathic) out there aside from benadryl that might work? Are there benadryl tablets? Greetings! My name is Tom and I suffer from severe non- food related allergies. Although they can be controlled, I find that my allergic reaction to dogs is so strong that drugs have little effect. The obvious solution is to take immunotherapy (allergy shots). However, when I contacted my allergist's secretary she said that they do no have one. I would like to rebut her claim, but in order to do so I need proof that this exists.

Hi Kiki, My cat was just dx'd with herpes in her eyes. For years, we too, thought it was allergies, but no. According to my vet, herpes is very common in cats. The way I figured out what was possibly going on with my cat was to google "feline herpes conjunctivitis." Some sites will give you pictures to look at and compare as well as descriptions. Discharge from the eyes have many possible dx's, but a simple blood test will confirm whether your kitty has herpes or not.

I hope that gives kitty some relief!! I too had a cat with constant diarrhea and could find no answers, now that she is gone I believe from reading it was probably IBS. Prettykitty1 has posted about this and her cat needing to be on a raw food diet.....the one cat I have now has food allergies and I've tried giving the raw diet and he wouldn't eat it, he also won't eat any of the commercial foods that he should be on!!
