Avatar f tn already i feel better, my ent didnt do any testing at all, just hearing test, i am waiting to set up an appointment, for a cat scan of my sinuses, i am hoping it is all just due to allergies and, as my ears r hurting and nose is stuffed up, glands r swollen, i feel miserable. i do have to go for a vng test, but not until next month, and i am not looking forward to it, i am hoping the cat scan will show it is all just do to allergies and nothing more..
Avatar f tn I looked up the cat community - best to go there I believe. http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn itching ears & allergies & not as active. He eats very good Had blood work done yesterday. Just worried if I need to rush him to a hospital.
Avatar f tn How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! Thanks for the tips and suggestions friends!
Avatar m tn Yeah, im assuming its the previous diagnosis which is allergies, i do have a dog and a cat, but the only annoying symptoms i have, are feeling tired, and the rining in my ears, i started wearing a bite plane again.
Avatar f tn I agree with what others said, Good luck - we have a cat who has allergies and we think she might actually be allergic to the other cats - LOL! But, she's doing very well even with the allergies.
1474611 tn?1416632958 My cat is so itchy. He's got little tiny bumps under his chin, behind both ears (right one is worse). He very rarely goes out. And when he does, he's not out for more than maybe 10 minutes. He's 2.5 years old, weighs about 15 pounds, and has short fur. His diet hasn't changed in the whole time I've had him. Flea stuff doesn't seem to help him either. Any suggestions?
1206168 tn?1280367231 This question is very hard for me to ask, because i put myself in an awkward position. I have had my cat for many years and have no allergies to her. I have seen a couple doctor's over a month for symptoms of swollen lymph nodes on/off (always present) , numb throat, ringing of the ears, and my brian felt like it was swelling largly at one time. All these symptoms look as if i have a major sinus infection. I have taken amoxicillin, z pak, nasal sprays, and ibuprofen.

Avatar n tn Hi, my cat started to loose weight and go bald and scabby on his ears a couple of weeks ago, he's been to the vets who gave him intibiotics which have done nothing. The baldness is now spreading across his head and down his neck and he seems to have a really hot head/ be burning up in the evenings. I've read about mange on several websites and they all seem to say that it is incredibly itchy but he hasn't once scratched at it.
4862685 tn?1360175651 I've noticed my cat has got some scabs behind his ears, he has just been wormed and doesn't have fleas. He's washing there a lot and when he does it makes his back legs tremble. I can't afford the vets for another couple of weeks and am wondering what the problem is and if there's anything i can do to help him until i can take him, thanks!
Avatar n tn She complains every day and wakes up crying during the night that her throat and ears hurt her. Could this be allergies? we have a dog and a cat in the house. We need some answers im tired of seeing her in pain.

Avatar f tn My cat has a scabbed nose and dried blood in his nostrils. This comes and goes, gets worse and then better. We are not sure if it is kitty acne, ring worm, or something worse. This post won't let me upload pictures. Anyone who has had similar problems with their cat, please help.

Avatar f tn Food allergies usually manifest around the face and ears. Flea allergies will appear at the hind end where they seek warmth. Either way sounds like kitty is miserable. Also, most important :: You have a little child to protect and some skin conditions like ringworm, are highly contagious and everyone must stay out of contact with these sores. Best to know for sure and help your kitty and your family at the same time. Please let us know what the vet has to say, K?
Avatar n tn s? If your cat continues to shake his head and scratch his ears because they hurt or they are very itchy he will continue to create hematoma's due to self trauma. Some cats do have intractable ear problems due primarily to allergies to food and environment, ear polyps, and chronic ear mite infestation. These instigating factors cause yeast and bacterial infections in the ear.
779797 tn?1263618235 My cat actually got to the point where she scratched her ears naked before I had a chance to take her to the vet the first time. The vet took one look at her and simply said: "Allergies." We discussed that it must be food allergies. I was actually relieved that it wasn't something worse. I did have to search high and low for a really good cat food that was grain free. It turned out that that was the problem. She seems to be doing quite well on the Wellness Turkey grain free.
3170462 tn?1344717552 t mean to sound obtuse, but a specialist of what? Cats? Allergies? Cat allergies? Do these specialists have a title or a specific field of study that I can begin searching for one by?
Avatar n tn My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays, she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
389974 tn?1331015242 I figured out the grain allergy after the vet confirmed that the cat had food allergies without too much trouble, because I had given her Fancy Feast with gravy, which she loves. Well, gravy usually has wheat flour in it to thicken it, and if I'm sensitive to gluten foods myself, then I reasoned that cats could be, too. And, since cats are true carnivores by nature, then it seemed reasonable to me that grains weren't supposed to be part of the cat's regular diet.
Avatar n tn Our cat has black around her eyes, ears and muzzle. She scratches so much that she is making herself bleed. I have treated her for fleas and mites with revolution. The vet feels that revolution is effective for mites and fleas and doesn't think that is the cause. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I noticed my cat had gunk in his ears so I tried cleaning it out with ear solution and cotton balls, he immediately started shaking his head. The next day I go to pet him and his ear is inflated! So this is my problem....My cat has a ear hematoma, I took him to the vet and they found there was yeast in his ears. For the hematoma they gave me the options of lancing, surgery, etc. but told me it was okay to leave it. They gave me drops to put in his ears for the yeast infection.

5347058 tn?1381188426 sensitive commonly to a preservative or ingredient in dry kibble type food. grain allergies are common in cats and most cat foods are full of unnecessary grains just b/c they are 'cheap' fillers for the manufacturer, they do absolutely nothing for the diet!!! there are some 'grain free' diets on the market that may be a worth a trial. EVO, Wellness and Natures Variety are a few. cats can also suffer from environmental allergies....such as what you decide with your kitty.....
