Avatar f tn I personally would be and am scared of dogs around my infant and small children.
Avatar n tn My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays, she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
1232362 tn?1333135406 I was hoping you would come along and answer - thanks FM. Don't you also give Akira a little Zyrtec?
Avatar n tn I believe that my child has a behavorial issue. She has emotional outbursts and loses her temper really easy. If she gets upset, there is nothing we can do to snap her out of it. Sometimes I do something to distract her and she forgets that she was mad. She says mean things to her sister and grandmother. If she gets in the "zone" nothing I tell her phases her. She will not follow directions and does not care if she gets spanked.
Avatar f tn I just got a Siamese cat and ever since i've gotten her i've had headaches. sometimes i forget about them then they come back every so often, no other symptoms. I would like to know if keeping her around getting these random headaches every so often is dangerous for me in the long run.. or if I can stand the symptoms then I can keep her around... is this a problem that will become serious or can I just keep her around? Please reply.
7845323 tn?1394873413 There have been back and forth studies about allergies and pets, specifically cats. Dogs have been believed to lower the chance of allergies where as until recently cats were suppose to increase it. Now it is believed that both cats and dogs are good for baby on the allergy front. I wouldnt worry.
Avatar f tn Sniffles, I think you got that name regarding the allergies eh? First off, if your friend don't mind, make sure the cats can be brushed. You might or might not know this, but it's not the hair that we are allergic to, it's the cat's saliva. They clean themselves with the saliva and then it gets on the hair. So it's not just the cat/s, it's anything the cat licks or gets the hair after it cleans itself on. Brushing the cat before and after visits will help.
Avatar f tn Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.
Avatar n tn I know this question may sound ridiculous but are people with hiv more prone to allergies? I've been having allergies for the past month or so to my cat or something in my house that i have never had a problem with before. Could this be a sign that i have hiv? I've only had one high risk behavior in my life and that was about 9 months ago when a condom broke on me. THe girl said she is 100 percent sure she has nothing but that is not really enough assurance for me.
2169449 tn?1358489923 I take Zyrtec 10 mg tablet daily im allergic to my cat/ seasonal allergies etc.
Avatar f tn already i feel better, my ent didnt do any testing at all, just hearing test, i am waiting to set up an appointment, for a cat scan of my sinuses, i am hoping it is all just due to allergies and, as my ears r hurting and nose is stuffed up, glands r swollen, i feel miserable. i do have to go for a vng test, but not until next month, and i am not looking forward to it, i am hoping the cat scan will show it is all just do to allergies and nothing more..
Avatar f tn When would they do allergy tests on baby? I have a kitty and was just thinking about what if she is allergic??
874521 tn?1424116797 oh thank you so much for the post..I will read the website for sure. I just picked up some tablets at the store, I do more diagnosing than my Vet, he mostly needs to read the same info...not much knowledge on cat allergies...and all the articles I've read state this works good for cats 70% effective although doesn't give me a dosage!!....so thanks alot... Oh the small 25 mg tablets I have and he's approx 10 lbs means I would need to split into 10ths...
Avatar n tn My daughter developed a severe headaache along with pain and stifness in the neck and spine sometime last friday. She was taken to the emergency room and diagnosed with mild dehydration and was released with the outcome being an unknown virus and sent home. The day after the headaches are gone but now she has this uncontrolled movement of her neck and back. She uncontrollably shrugs her shoulders up and down then moves her torso from side to side if releaving tension.
Avatar f tn hey guys, I'm 4 weeks pregnant and the whole time I've been getting sinus allergies from mine and my partners dogs!!
541150 tn?1306033843 We have been through a lot with him so he is very needy and co-dependent. He is definitely not your typical cat but he is justified and I love him very much no matter what :-) When my baby is born he will sleep in the room with us. Can the baby be affected by cat hair? How do I know if my baby has developed allergies from my cat's saliva? Has anyone dealt with having babies while kitty sleeps with them in the room? What is the best thing to do in this situation?
Avatar n tn When I went home I played with my cat and the allergies returned. What could have caused this and should I adopt a new cat if I somehow now have cat allergies?
Avatar f tn Here’s the kicker, he has lots of allergies and is highly allergic to cats... and he has a cat. He used to suffer when anywhere near cats but for some reason they picked up a stray cat and wouldn’t you know it, ever since then these symptoms started and have been getting worse. My theory is that the constant assault of the cat dander is causing an autoimmune issue which is making his glands swollen which in turn are pushing on the nerves in his should which go into his arms. Is this possible?
Avatar m tn I did the vaccination for 4 years and my allergy is more bearable now. If I am in a cat environment I take my allergy pill and I am OK.. maybe you should change your doctor and take second opinion??
7165624 tn?1395647767 Im severely allergic to my cat, i know awful, and NO i will NOT give him up he is my first baby and will be forever, but i was told zyrtec D and benadryl.
Avatar f tn His internal organs have all come forward and are pushing on his lungs and heart. He is otherwise healthy, runs, jumps eats drinks and eliminates. I am just nervous about the prednisone. Thanks for any advice you might have.
Avatar m tn When I am around common animals that have dander such as dogs, cats, bunnies or hamsters, I begin to develop a slight rash and my eyes swollen and I have an asthma attack. Well, I was around a cat the other day. I was holding it and petting it and stroking it. My left eye slightly swollen and my upper arm had 2 bumbs...I had no asthma. I am usually worse around dogs...but are my allergies starting to get better?
Avatar f tn I can understand your son's girlfriend being somewhat diligent where cats are concerned. I love all animals and am not passing any judgment. That being said, many diseases that cats can get do transfer to humans. Pink eye for example can be given to children via cats and is cause by fecal matter. Many babies and children haven't built up a tolerance yet to outside germs and can develop allergies.
Avatar n tn My cat has many red tiny sores on inner thighs and belly. She is constantly licking them. She is lethargic. At only 4 years old, she has lost her energy and normal way. She sleeps all day and licks her belly. When applying cream I have noticed that she has lumps which are obviously painful to my touch. She eats regularly and drinks a lot, however she is losing weight. I have tried antibiotics, and parasite killing cream and spray.
Avatar n tn So my cat has bin licking herself bald on her legs and now on her stomach. i took her to the vet they said it may be allergies. so i changed her food, litter, bought some fish oil. Nothing helped, now she has a crust around her eyes and has goopy green stuff coming out of the eyes! It was so much money for the vet and i was wondering if anyone had some info before i spend so much money again.
1450718 tn?1284923495 I`m working at an animal shelter and I had this elderly lady phone me about her cat. Apparently it`s been biting out it`s fur (mostly on it`s back) and it doesn`t grow back. She said that he seems to be in pain and she`s brought him to the vet but he wasn`t helpful. She doesn`t know whether she should put him down or not cause she doesn`t ave the money for tests or anything like that. She wants my personal opinion so she`s bringing the cat in a few days.
Avatar f tn Hi there, my friend put my 2 year old god-daughter to bed one night to find her face and legs covered in water blisters that had formed and broken over night. The doctor she saw said it could be a very strange case of the chicken pox but neither of us are so sure as they didnt spread to anyone or anywhere else on her body. She was exposed to the sun with sunscreen and pants on the day before and has not been exposed to any chemicals or new lotions or anything as far as we know.
