1210142 tn?1266077031 Hello, My name is Anatoly Petrov and I have I had a heart attack on 09/21/09. After my bare metal stents were clogged and I almost got another heart attack, a DES was placed inside those two. Since then I have been having chest pains. I am currently on Plavix, Aspirin, Simvastatin, Lisinopril and Carvedilol/Coreg/. Stopped Lisinopril for a little bit and felt much better- unfortunately my blood pressure went a little up.
Avatar n tn I guess you could say that the price was also a side effect, but...We are trying the carvedilol (generic for Coreg) to see if it offers me better coverage. It is a 2x per day dosing.
Avatar n tn i stopped the medication after my doctor told me to stop it. it was just 25mg daily. i experiencing palptation, shortness of breath, diziness all day like i am drunk. i dont smoke or drink. are these side effects of the med? how to get rid of this? its killing me. please help me out..
Avatar m tn You were true about Carvedilol, since this medication shows inotropic effects (directly acts on smooth muscle) which may decrease its potential to worsen symptoms of heart failure. It is used as main stay drug in management of CHF in selective cases or as an adjunct to conventional treatments (ACE inhibitors and diuretics). It is a both Beta1&2 and Alpha 1 blocker.
Avatar m tn 5 weeks ago I had a mild heart attack and received a stent in the one veinous graft (the 3 arterial grafts were perfectly clear). I have been placed on plavix and 6.25mg 2x/day of carvedilol - and the side effects of carvedilol is my concern. First is the feeling of lightheadedness, which was severe at first, but still remains.
Avatar m tn My cardio gave me some samples of 10 mg coreg to take once a day and a prescription to fill if the side effects from the metoprolol do not get any better. The side effects from the metoprolol have gotten a little better, though as I type this my heart rate is 52 bpm. Does any one have any comments on the pros and cons of carvedilol versus metoprolol? I'm not sure I want to switch if the side effects will be the same. Does anyone have experience with metoprolol?
Avatar f tn I don’t know about that side effect.
1210142 tn?1266077031 As for the losartan and carvedilol, dizziness and fatigue are two common side effects of the medications. These side effects are often related to either low blood pressures or low heart rate but can often be relieved through adjustments in the dose and timing of the medications. I would check and keep note of your blood pressure and heart rate frequently (and not if you are having any of the symptoms) using a home blood pressure monitoring kit that you can get at your local pharmacy.
907968 tn?1292622204 Doubling Carvedilol can be like a sleeping pill until your body gets used to it. Your symptoms are typical, you may also experience some weight gain. I'm guessing you had a heart attack prior to the bypass. Carvedilol (Coreg) is in my opinion a wonder drug, it can revitalize stunned heart cells surrounding the are area of dead muscle caused by the heart attack, and can improve heart function. It is typically doubled as needed gradually until improvement is seen in the heart function.
Avatar f tn Lisinopril and Metoprolol when I left the hospital, now Lisinopril and carvedilol (coreg). seems like a relatively common combination.
Avatar m tn My dad was recently diagnosed with CHF and was given Carvedilol. He is taking 12.5 mg twice a day. His blood pressure is well controlled now that he is on the pill, but there have been 3 times when his blood pressure drops way too low and he feels like fainting. Is that normal? How long does it usually take to get used to the drug?
Avatar m tn I am on 6.25 mg carvedilol twice a day. I am not physically restricted - I walk 1 mile or more day and do 10 minutes of other light exercises most days. My BP runs under 120/80 most of the time. I understand carvedilol helps prevent stiffening of the heart muscle and can help restore LV function to some degree. How specially, so it do this? What is the biochemical mechanism?
21064 tn?1309308733 20mg of Zocor to lower cholesterol - no side effects - lowers it to normal levels Clonodine patch #2 - for high BP - no side effects - BP below 120/80 most of the time 40mg of Lasix - for high BP - no side effects except for intense urination for a short time after I take the Lasix. Currently she is on enapril, lasix, digoxin. Her EF when we had checked last month was 25%. Avatar f tn Does anyone know anything about carvedilol? How safe is it, what are the side effects? Has anyone heard of it being prescribed for tachycardia? HIgh blood pressure? I am sick of taking/switching medications, most of all I am sick of having tachycardia and believe my heart rate is just naturally higher than others' heart rates. They told me to stop the calcium channel blocker cold turkey and start the new medication, I thought I was suppossed to wean off of my current medication.
Avatar n tn Since your panic attacks are happening less, are the headaches numerous and a reason that you cannot take the medication anymore? Or are some of the side effects okay with you now that your anxiety is much better? What does your prescribing doctor say about this? Headaches can also be caused by an endless number of factors in my opinon. Are you getting enough sleep? Are you still under a lot of stress? The point is, that the headaches may not even be related to the medication itself.
