1210142 tn?1266077031 Hello, My name is Anatoly Petrov and I have I had a heart attack on 09/21/09. After my bare metal stents were clogged and I almost got another heart attack, a DES was placed inside those two. Since then I have been having chest pains. I am currently on Plavix, Aspirin, Simvastatin, Lisinopril and Carvedilol/Coreg/. Stopped Lisinopril for a little bit and felt much better- unfortunately my blood pressure went a little up.
Avatar m tn 5 weeks ago I had a mild heart attack and received a stent in the one veinous graft (the 3 arterial grafts were perfectly clear). I have been placed on plavix and 6.25mg 2x/day of carvedilol - and the side effects of carvedilol is my concern. First is the feeling of lightheadedness, which was severe at first, but still remains.
Avatar n tn i stopped the medication after my doctor told me to stop it. it was just 25mg daily. i experiencing palptation, shortness of breath, diziness all day like i am drunk. i dont smoke or drink. are these side effects of the med? how to get rid of this? its killing me. please help me out..
1210142 tn?1266077031 As for the losartan and carvedilol, dizziness and fatigue are two common side effects of the medications. These side effects are often related to either low blood pressures or low heart rate but can often be relieved through adjustments in the dose and timing of the medications. I would check and keep note of your blood pressure and heart rate frequently (and not if you are having any of the symptoms) using a home blood pressure monitoring kit that you can get at your local pharmacy.
Avatar m tn My cardio gave me some samples of 10 mg coreg to take once a day and a prescription to fill if the side effects from the metoprolol do not get any better. The side effects from the metoprolol have gotten a little better, though as I type this my heart rate is 52 bpm. Does any one have any comments on the pros and cons of carvedilol versus metoprolol? I'm not sure I want to switch if the side effects will be the same. Does anyone have experience with metoprolol?
Avatar m tn I am on 6.25 mg carvedilol twice a day. I am not physically restricted - I walk 1 mile or more day and do 10 minutes of other light exercises most days. My BP runs under 120/80 most of the time. I understand carvedilol helps prevent stiffening of the heart muscle and can help restore LV function to some degree. How specially, so it do this? What is the biochemical mechanism?
Avatar n tn I guess you could say that the price was also a side effect, but...We are trying the carvedilol (generic for Coreg) to see if it offers me better coverage. It is a 2x per day dosing.
Avatar f tn I don’t know about that side effect.
907968 tn?1292622204 I need to know the long term effects of not exercising after a bypass? I did rehab and walked quite a bit afterwords. it's starting to get cold outside, I'm out of a job, and (related?) after upping my Carvedilol dose to 6.25mg twice a day (was 3.125mg) I haven't felt like doing much of anything. So far this has been almost a month.
Avatar m tn Am concerned the swallowing might be related to degradation of heart or lungs, although I recently saw that one side effect of carvedilol relates to swallowing. Appreciate any insight.
Avatar m tn I'm a 31 year old male with high blood pressure, anxiety, and a few recorded PVCs. I recently had a stress test with some ST depressions, which the cardiologists suspected to be a false positive. Nonetheless, to be on the safe side I was given a nuclear stress test - everything turned out just fine, my cardiologist said my heart is perfectly normal. The only problem was the high heart rate - when I went to get on the treadmill my heart rate jumped from 90 bpm to 145 bpm.
Avatar f tn It is as I was expecting ... I feel nothing ... just be sure that I do not have side effects from statins. If you go to amounts, like 100mg of ubiquinol, which it is more absorb-able than ubiquinone, you might feel a decrease in your BP.
Avatar m tn Although, there was no deficiency with that vitamin, the doctors suggested us to continue cartinine vitamin supplements for her as there are not much side effects. Currently she is on enapril, lasix, digoxin. Her EF when we had checked last month was 25%. Please let us know what are the procedures available here to find out(or rule out) the causes for dilated cardiomyopathy. Also, please let us know if there are any research institutes who are pursuing stem cells therapy to this problem.
572651 tn?1530999357 Vertigo is a known adverse reaction for Carvedilol. Dizziness is a fairly common adverse reaction listed for many medications including Furosemide, Diovan, Pravastatin, and Carvediolol. So it seems he is experiencing known side effects for these drugs, but not because they are interacting with each other.
Avatar m tn m thinking that could be the cause, also i thought it was the side effects from the hydralazine, any ideas ?
Avatar m tn My dad was recently diagnosed with CHF and was given Carvedilol. He is taking 12.5 mg twice a day. His blood pressure is well controlled now that he is on the pill, but there have been 3 times when his blood pressure drops way too low and he feels like fainting. Is that normal? How long does it usually take to get used to the drug?
341137 tn?1287305043 I have tried to find the side effects for all these medicines and the one that seems to bring on rashes is LAXIX - does anyone else have symptoms from any of these medications? and is it likely that it is the LAXIX that is doing this or something else.
Avatar f tn Excuse me, but were you actually diagnosed with heart palps or did you just think you were having them? Were you suffering from anxiety or depression, the only things Prozac treats? Because an antidepressant can be stimulating, and Prozac is one of the more stimulating ones. Not as much as some others, but still it can be.
21064 tn?1309308733 I am trying to compile a list of common heart medications for one of the Health Pages. So many times someone asks for suggestions, about side effects, etc. It would be great to have a place closeby where we could provide a hyperlink to more information on medications common for heart patients. Will you please help me by letting me know what medication(s) you are currently taking, or what medication(s) you would like to know more about?
