carvedilol and hair loss

I quit taking carvedilol and my statin as I thought I had my heart problems knocked, and soon afterwards, even though my cholesterol, diabetes and weight was normal, I had to have six more stents, a pacemaker, and eventually bypass surgery. Today at age 72 I'm back taking the drugs, but I also have Congestive Heart Failure, and believe me, taking carvedilol and Plavix was much easier. I have to sleep in a chair because my lungs fill with water.

My dad was recently diagnosed with CHF and was given Carvedilol. He is taking 12.5 mg twice a day. His blood pressure is well controlled now that he is on the pill, but there have been 3 times when his blood pressure drops way too low and he feels like fainting. Is that normal?How long does it usually take to get used to the drug?

Since both started getting bad about the same time and just shortly after starting Carvedilol I can easily make the connection. However, they could be unrelated to carvedilol and the timing could be a coincidence. Before I make an appointment to have a chat with my Dr. I'd like to hear from anyone that has had these symptom and that were known to be directly connected to carvedilol. Assuming there are none here, Does anyone have any info to share about these?

I am on 6.25 mg carvedilol twice a day. I am not physically restricted - I walk 1 mile or more day and do 10 minutes of other light exercises most days. My BP runs under 120/80 most of the time. I understand carvedilol helps prevent stiffening of the heart muscle and can help restore LV function to some degree. How specially, so it do this? What is the biochemical mechanism?

It recently dropped to 80 over 51 and the doctor took me off of my carvedilol for 2 weeks and said to monitor my blood pressure and call in two weeks. It has been 2 weeks now. I do not know what my heart rate should be at normal and at exertion. I live in a quad level and go up and down a lot of steps to do laundry. I get winded very easily. I want to feel better.

lol trust me natural progesterone will make your husband like a 20 year old man with his sex drive and its cheap with not one side effect and can take with his heart meds i think being as your body makes progesterone male and female so substituting with more progesterone is safe.

She also takes a high dosage of Lisinopril and Carvedilol and it seems like she is getting weaker at times. The dosage for Lisinopril is 40mg and 25mg for Carvedilol She has been taking this medication for almost 2 years now, but now she has become weaker and is more nervous now, have anxiety attacks. Is the dosage too high? Or is there anyway to reduce the side effects of the medication?? Thanks...

hello Doctors/ Experts, may i ask what are the common side effects when taking beta blockers (carvedilol)? i am taking just 12.5mg daily and i feel some irregularities like palps, fatigue, headaches, dizzy. i am not sure if these are side effects. im 24yo and dont smoke or drink but having a bp of 140/100. then down to 120/80 when taking 12.5mg carv daily. thank you for the knowledge.

2 x 2 early 2013, so I have been on this dose of carvedilol for quite a while.. will be seeing and ear throat specialist and my cardiologist next week and discussing the swallowing issues and the new tinnitus sounds which could be related... will post what I learn.

its just very hard to find a hmo or even ppo doctor that will work with me. and switch meds. I am at a loss to figure why they put me on this medication toprol xl , as from what I read, its used most for people with heart failure ? I dont have heart failure and last tests show I dont ? maybe its money bonus pay they get ?? hate to think that but can happen!! sure wracks my brain !!

I am currently on Plavix, Aspirin, Simvastatin, Lisinopril and Carvedilol/Coreg/. Stopped Lisinopril for a little bit and felt much better- unfortunately my blood pressure went a little up. Then my PCP substitute it for Losartan- have been taking this drug/25 mg/ for a week and feel extremely dizzy and nauseated. The cardiologist suggested to cut Carvbedilol in half/so now I am taking 3.125 twice a day instead of 6.25 and my chest pain almost disapear.

Lisinopril and Carvedilol are blood pressure medications (lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor, Carvedilol is a beta blocker) and should not have any effect on your lipid profile. I just finished Sovaldi and olysio and no hair loss at all, in fact hair looked great I do have hypothyroid which is familial, mother , daughters have it, Check your thyroid levels That can effect hair loss, dryness etc( even my eye brows and under arms thinned from hypothyroidism ) You may need to be on thyroid medication such as synthyroid if it is off

I have recently been prescribed Amlodipine-Benaz 5/10 MG capsules for treatment of hypertension. However, my resting pulse rate has consistently been in the 90's and increasing into the 100's at time, so I have been prescribed Carvedilol to help control the heart rate. My question is, doesn't Carvedilol control hypertension as well...Why should I be taking carvedilol in addition to amliodipine?

I was put on carvedilol, after covid, when I developed heart palpitations. After all the tests were done, they didn't find anything wrong. My doctor told me to stop carvedilol.
