kimmit is right about the fruits - many of them have a lot of sugar in them, which can raise your blood sugar too high; they also tend to have more calories. In addition, when you do eat fruit, make sure you go for whole fruit rather than juice because while juices might have some vitamins/minerals, they also tend to have more calories, without the filling fiber. Likewise, smoothies can be good for you, but it depends totally, on what you put in them.
The hospital said I need to watch my carbs, for breakfast they said to eat 2 to 3 net carbs, lunch 3 to 4 net carbs, and dinner is 4 to 5 net carbs. each net carb is around 15 carbs. so if it has 30 carbs in it, that means its 2 net carbs. I hope that makes sense. anyway. in doing this i have lost 20 lbs. So i am here for support.
These feelings are counter-productive and is another reason I believe that diets do not work. Controlling carbs has worked for some people, but am wondering if it is the right path for you as well. When I see you report "I dabbled with Atkins about a month ago....lost weight. Got to feeling sorry for myself and went right back to eating everything!" and then see "So yesterday I decided it was time to take the bull by the horns and just do controlled carbs.", ...
What you describe Fits my situation perfectly. I am 18 years old and have had this problem for many years.I have tried everything. Dieted, tested certain foods, fasted for days, read hundreds of pages of dialog (literaly), been misdiagnosed, and re-diagnosed many times. It has ruined my life so far up to this point. By far the worst experiance in my life i never would have imagined how imbarrasing this problem could be. being shunned from kids at school and even adult co-workers.
I don't stop trying to lose weight - I'm just not so frustrated with it as I was. I eat plenty of fruits and veggies (complex carbs), lean protein, fiber (complex carb), low fat dairy, etc. Protein and fiber fill you up faster and take longer for the body to break down, so keep you feeling fuller longer. Do a search for food high in complex carbs to come up with list - there are bound to be some you like. Stay away from refined sugar, flour, rice etc as much as possible.
Now when I have this problem I use a product called Peg-Lyte Powder. You get it over the counter at the pharmacy (but you don't need a perscription) and what it does is it completely flushes out the bowel. Maybe if you cleaned yourself right out you might be able to start paying attention to what you are eating and see if you notice what gives you excessive gas. You can't use this all the time but maybe it's worth a try. Do you use any potein supplements?
I wonder what she would say going by just my TSH. I might ask if I can buy the Cytomel (liothyrorine Sodium isn't it) over the counter if I don't get on with upping my dose. I'm very grateful for your help you know, as much as I know I should see my endo but I just know it will be a waste of time...
then finally after keeping a food diary and eating no or low fat diets, I went back to the doctor who did my surgery. He kindly told me... NO, I wasn't crazy and explained about the build up of bile in the small intestines and... put me on Questran! A scoopful of this wonderful powder in a cup of water each morning an hour before I eat, and I am good for the day! If it were an illegal drug... I would go on the street to buy it. It has made that much of a difference in my life.
You will stop taking the hcg and very slowly start introducing other things to your diet, such as diary...but no carbs or sugar just yet. Like I said, I haven't gotten here just yet so I haven't looked too much into what is exactly allowed during this phase but I do know this is when you stop taking the hcg, to prevent your body from becoming immune to it. This is important if you decide you want to do another round.
Apart from if I touch the skin of a pineapple I come up in minor bumps on my lips and tongue. Diary products give me acne a day later. I've never been tested for allergies, but my blood test for intolerance showed up onions, chilli, almonds, cashews, black currants and yeast. but as I said before i think most fruits don't agree with me, but I'd love to be able to discover some I could eat. It wasn't on your list, but grapes are also very bad for me.
My mother (my roommate) is a diabetic so; we’ve been eating our meals based on her diet. LOW CARBS, NO SUGAR, lots of salmon and chicken. When I do fall off the wagon, the sugar does upset my stomach. So, no more refined sugar for me. I use replacements like Agave Nectar (light), honey crisp apples or Vita waters for my sweet tooth. Had to cut out Blended Espressos with Caramel too. I read somewhere that bakery goods and foods made with flour are no very good for us either.
He also recommended probiotics, cleansing my digestive system. And cutting back on carbs. I noticed that when I eat carbs especially at dinner time that I wake up at 4am with stomach pains. What has worked for me is eating smaller portions through out the day. Cutting back on carbs, not eating too much late at night. I have my last meal between 5 and 6pm. Usually it's a salad (chicken, beef, tuna, salmon). Lots of veggies. I drink lots of water for the rest of the evening.
I eat a Detour Bar in the morning (it must have more protein than carbs) and a pill a day. I ate a Lean Cuisine for dinner and an apple for a snack. AND I AM A REAL JUNK FOOD EATER....SO today I only had 550 calories and I am so proud of myself. Thank god I can have unlimited gum and diet coke!! I live in NC. Gonna lose ! Yeah!
-Bac-tine antiseptic spray (provides a coolness that overrides the itch). It's an over the counter first aid product. -Hydro gen par oxide (may burn if you've scratched a lot, but it stopped the itch so I could sleep) -Clot-rimazole and Beta-methasone Dipro-pionate cream (prescribed by my GYN) -- This helped for only about a month or two. -Cold low-fat vanilla yogurt (this does not leave greasy build up like some creams).
You can try taking over-the-counter magnesium supplements...400mg a day a few days before you usually have this problem. There are also other over-the-counter odor reducers available, but most of them contain chlorophyll (which is a natural substance that makes all green plants green...and is a natural do-odorizor)...but magnesium is a main component of chlorophyll, so it works just as well and is inexpensive. Magnesium is very safe to take.
-Acidophilus Pearls -Cut out all carbs for a week or two (sounds harder than it is when you realize you are passing gas less) I tested myself with bringing back a carb here or there and about 2 hours later here came the gas! I limit carbs now to good carbs only and if I do eat them, I take Bean-o (food enzyme)and notice that the gas either doesn't come or at least doesn't smell. I found I didn't miss carbs as much as I thought I would b/c I don't embarass myself in public anymore!
I know that sounds like an old wives tale but i would literallty get one instantly if he drank beer and gave me oral without brushing his teeth and rinsing with mouth wash,,,, anyways i am now with a new partner for the past 3 months and we recently started having unprotected sex and I have had 2 yeast infections... hopefully the nuvaring will help me out here. I used an over the counter medicine the first time and now am on a prescription terconazole i think it's called.
let me tell you this, I have tried many different things over the counter, this, that and the other......spend lots and lots of dollars of worthless stuff like slimquick and everything else with catchy names to make us buy them.......but bottom line is that i am now seeing a doctor that has greatly helped me. Best thing I did. I recommend you find yourself someone who is specialized in weight management, and stop waisting yourtime or your money.
I have had tried maintaining a food diary to isolate if there may be an issue with my diet, an unknown food borne allergy or malabsorptions, but, that too had not been helpful except to suggestively (but not conclusively) suspecting some ingredients such as certain fruits and veggies, etc, that perhaps may be the culprits.
I also cant believe how many people are suffering the same vile disgusting eggy burps.I have been suffering for over a year now I`ve tried all over counter drugs, endoscopy colonoscopy IBS treatment all negatives. There seems to be no trigger! I`ve changed diet, you name it .
I limited myself to no more than 1,000 to 1,200 calories, 100 grams of carbs, 20-30 grams of fat a day. BUT, you must get 65-100 or more grams of protein a day. My doc told me to have 30-40 grams of protein but no more than 10 grams of carbs at breakfast. This jumpstarts your metabolism. I started having whey protein for breakfast and lunch. I had to read a lot of labels to find one low in fat and carbs. Right now I am using Optimum Nutrition (ON) 100% Whey Protein shake mix.
It has to be something else because we have tried every antibiotic and over the counter stuff with no effect. Hopefully someone will read this blog section and find an answer for every sufferer. Maybe if doctors actually did what they are paid for instead of the easy solution you could all get help. An extra for my husband is fiberglass inhalation which can not drain due to the deviated septum. Good luck to everyone.
i am not attempting to convince you personally. i am trying to counter you so that desperate people, who just may find an answer in this way, and its not for everyone, that those people will not be totally discouraged and miss their chance. FACT: this diet does work. people are the proof. you say you posted from someone who sells it, but didn't identify him. we have identified our sources. maybe your seller sells to athletes? Yes, abnormal fat can be lost. this is a whole new paradigm.
I have never really had this sort of problem before, maybe once or twice in my life but never this bad. It all began with my family getting the Flu. Everyone was nauseated and throwing up some even had a fever. I never got the fever just throwing up and nausea and then more nausea for like 3 days and then all of a sudden out of nowhere I got the eggy burps and it has been a constant like every 5 seconds. That icky burp taste and smell is killing me and it has been like 3 days now.
