Avatar n tn Distressing heartburn is often the first symptom to disappear following withdrawal of carbohydrates from the die However severe, and even if made worse by factors like the back-flow of gastric juice into the esophagus in hiatal hernia, the chances of success are good. If patients come back with the complaint that the diet is no longer effective and their heartburn has returned, a closer look usually reveals that some carbohydrates have again crept into the diet.

Avatar n tn Ah yes, the classic, "What the devil is this really all about?" episode. Its like I'm in a some kind of play and have forgotten my lines and besides, there's no one in the audience, anyway. Is it some manifestation of anxiety? I dunno. Maybe there is something deep down in there that's telling you to do something meaningful with your life, or maybe its too much chocolate, I don't know.
2030686 tn?1351688548 Does anybody know what the early classifications were before hep c? He was born in 1966 and contracted hep b as a child. Is it possible that he had hep c and they just didn't know about it yet? I assume I got the hep c either from him or other people we "partied with". I never used needles but he had so I just assume he had hep c as well. I just don't understand how I could have one and not the other.
Avatar f tn pattern of calcification was 100% specific for malignancy. Echogenicity, echo structure, shape, border classification, and grade of internal vascularity did not show any significant difference between benign and malignant nodules in this study. Various combinations of features previously suggested to be significant predictors of malignancy were also analyzed and shown to have very little sensitivity or specificity in predicting benign or malignant disease among nodules in our study population.

Avatar m tn So to say that yeasts love (table sugar) but bacteria doesn’t is false. They both love it and can all break down sucrose and all natural occurring carbohydrates. So once you take in sugars, they both start digesting it. Just as ray2502 stated above exercise and drinking a lot of water helps. This is because that’s one way of reducing the buildup of PATM toxins in the blood through sweat. This can help TMAU patients too to reduce the TMA smelly toxin from their blood.
Avatar n tn My 16 yr old son had a stent placed via catherter in his descending aorta to fix a coartation (restriction). He has also been diagnosed with a "mildly" dilated ascending aorta and bicuspid aortic valve (with a "trivial" gradient). One month after the stent procedure, he had a cardiac and head MRI which found nothing unusual. We await a stress test which will occur ~3 months out from the procedure, which we hope will allow him to return to competitive baseball.

Tbd This does not mean that all carbohydrates must be avoided but it is necessary to limit carbohydrate intake and to choose what are called complex carbohydrates in place of simple carbohydrates. The goal for a type 2 diabetic is to maintain their blood glucose within a safe range. Complex carbohydrates are broken down at a slower rate than simple carbohydrates meaning that the glucose is released into the bloodstream at a slower rate allowing more time for the uptake of glucose.

Avatar f tn Hi, I had a mammogram Aug 27th which that the small node I have had for years has grown. Two days later I had an ultrasound that shows a hypoechoic structure deep within the chest wall and has a hyperechoic notch to it with an appeappearance of a benign lymph node but does not correlate with the position of the mammogram. Given the findings of this ultrasound and enlargemnt of the density on the mammogram biopsy is recommended. My question is would you take it out completely?
