Common Questions and Answers about Carbohydrates list not eat

carbohydrate

Avatar f tn No, you can't determine your carbs by the number of calories. You have to determine how many carbs are in each serving of the individual foods you eat, as listed on the package/container. For instance a serving of bread might have 12 grams of carbs listed on the package. For help with the bar code issue, try asking your question in the Improve MedHelp Suggestions forum. The mods there should be able to help you. You can access that forum via the following link: http://www.medhelp.

10221785 tn?1410990458 Can you tell me what to eat and not to eat pls?
776302 tn?1241091853 A food tracker would be a good tool. List the foods we eat and the tracker can list the calories, fat calories, starch content, and protein amount of each food we list. That would be an enormous help to losing weight. Please let me know when it's up and working.
Avatar n tn The best way to know what foods you can eat is to test, test, test. Eat a meal you usually enjoy and then test two hours later. If you are over 140 then you either can no longer eat those foods, or need to cut the portions. If you do a lot of testing for awhile then you will get more familiar with foods and how they affect you. Having said that; what raises blood sugar is carbohydrates, so as a rule (diabetes is all about exceptions to rules!
Avatar m tn You need to eat more calories than the amount that you burn. Every calorie that you eat above that what you burn will eventually be converted into fat and stored in your body. (regardless if these calories come from protein, fat, carbohydrates or alcohol) 1 kilogram of fat is about 10.000 kCalories so if you daily eat 500kCals more than you burn you will gain a kilo every 3 weeks. remarks: -you will not gain much energy with a few extra kilo's of fat unless you are currently underweight.
Avatar f tn There is sugar (lactose) in dairy foods along with protein which our bodies breaks down to glucose to use. I realize it is not the ‘traditional’ food sources of carbohydrates, however, if she is consuming these foods daily, then she is getting carbohydrates. If you are very concerned, suggest increase the intake of the above foods. Try reintroducing slowing in the next few months.
256553 tn?1258883918 Thank-you for posting your question as I think many people misunderstand the low carbohydrate dieting. First off, Carbohydrates are our immediate energy and so without it you will probably feel like you are constantly "hitting the wall" and leaving your body in fatigue, dehydration (which gives the illusion of weight loss), energy loss, and excessive protein breakdown with a buildup of ketones in the body. Protein is NOT used for energy it is the building blocks of the body ie.
Avatar f tn 1400 Choose a balanced meal without the bad fats! Eat 5-6 mini meals per day that is made up of 40% carbohydrates, 40% protein and 20% fat. These tips will help you with your diet and then you can then start the fat burning! I just add in my bookmark list. Thanks!
20620809 tn?1504362969 The other type of carbohydrates is known as complex carbohydrates - these are foods that take longer to break down in our body so don't turn to sugar right away. These include most vegetables, fish, seeds, nuts, whole grains, etc. You don't have to "love" fish to follow the Mediterranean diet. It does allow lean meat, chicken, etc in limited quantities.
973741 tn?1342342773 Soluble fiber can help lower cholesterol levels by binding to cholesterol in the digestive tract and removing it from the body. Limit saturated and trans fats: Saturated and trans fats can raise cholesterol levels. Limit your intake of foods like fatty meats, full-fat dairy products, and processed foods that are high in saturated and trans fats.
7894272 tn?1395206727 Be careful on cutting out the carbs especially if partaking in exercise. Although carbs have a high calorie content , when these are cut out it there for results in a larger proportion of your energy being derived from fats which in the long term could have implications to health and increase levels of LDL cholesterol. I personally would advise to just be more selective with carbohydrates choosing those that are complex and slower to digest.
584024 tn?1218208863 I would like to be able to track my daily foods that I eat - to see any corrolations between what I eat and how I feel -- I have a lot of food allergies so it would be nice to have a food journal.
468836 tn?1215476116 We do have a food tracker and an allergy tracker on our list of trackers to add. We're not sure when these will be available, but we'll let you know when it is. Thanks for the suggestion!
Avatar n tn ) that many foods contain carbohydrates and when consumed they turn into sugar in the body. And while not being a good nutritional choice, the body doesn't distinguish between a candy bar or a piece of fruit. I suggest you ask your mother's doctor (hopefully she's seeing an endocrinologist ~ someone who specializes in diabetes) if they have a nutritionist who can explain to you what carbohydrates are.
Avatar m tn If you do not have the time to eat due to your job, then consuming protein bars, yogurt smoothies or a high calorie drink (milkshake) would help you during the middle of the day to get the calories you need to maintain your weight. Thank you for your question.
1657684 tn?1307375035 The other cat (Eiva) like tin tuna but not raw meat nor raw fish! Not even eat roast chicken! Both my cats don't eat the fresh (de frost) seafood like Squid, Shrimps, Mussel and fish fillet. Are they normal?
Avatar n tn I would like to suggest creating a food tracker, so users can track the foods they eat and the symptoms that follow. I have been having a hard time keeping an organized food diary to try to determine food allergies and intolerances and such. I think a food tracker would be very beneficial, not only for those who are trying to monitor food reactions, but also to manage their weight and keep a log of what they are eating every day.
Avatar f tn We do have a food tracker/journal on a list of requested features to add. We're not sure when these will be available, but we'll let you know when it is. Thanks for the suggestion!
Avatar f tn So I can't sleep or even eat now because I'm so nervous that I mignt have gestational diabetes... I've never been a very healthy Eater so I'm going to be so lost of what to do...
Avatar m tn Diabetes is the bodies in-ability to process carbohydrates properly resulting in high blood sugar (BG). ALL carbohydrates not just sugar. Your body turns all carbohydrates into BG . I dont know what your "diet" is that you follow. BUT it has more carbohydrates than your body can process. Even the ADA's diet has too many carbs for you OR/AND you need drugs to help your body to process the carbs.
565807 tn?1216511022 We do have a nutrition tracker on our list of to-do's. We'll let you know when it's available.
401095 tn?1351391770 One of the “must eat” foods on every expert’s list, cottage cheese is recommended as a substitute for other soft cheeses and dairy products. Cottage cheese provides the protein that can help boost mood and energy levels, without some of the fat of hard cheeses. Avatar f tn Protein also enables you to stay fuller for longer. If you are going to eat carbohydrates, eat them separately as a snack, and avoid having them after 4pm. If you need more help email me, or follow my blog (i've just started writing it): http://nicola-beatingbulimia.blogspot.
