Common Questions and Answers about Carbohydrates in fruit chart

carbohydrate

Avatar n tn You will still end up eating carbohydrates trough vegetables and fruit, but not trough bread, pasta etc. But those that are in the fruit and vegetables are complex carbohydrates, which are good. Try having 5 small meals per day, set apart 2.5hours / 3hours. Also, whenever you feel like you want a snack, eat some fruit instead of junk food. Also, don't forget, an hour or more per day of cardio and heavy weight lifting will help you burn fat faster, resulting in you losing weight.

1266263 tn?1270153368 Hi, The best fuel for muscles is carbohydrates, either simple sugars such as naturally occurring sugars in fruits and juices or complex carbohydrates the starches in whole grain products, rice, cereal, oatmeal and other plant foods. These carbohydrates provide not only energy but also important vitamins and minerals. You store only carbohydrates not protein or fats in your muscles in the form of sugar called glycogen. During hard exercise, you burn this glycogen for energy.
Avatar f tn This tracker will be very beneficial for those users who have dietary restrictions due to medical conditions such as diabetes and high cholesterol, and will also be useful for those who are simply trying to watch what they eat. In addition to providing a calorie counter, the Food Diary will also allow users to track their intake of carbohydrates, fats, protein, sugar, vitamins, minerals, and supplements.
Avatar n tn Sugars listed next to carbohydrates are in grams. Every 7 grams listed equals one heaping Tablespoon of refined sugar. Sports drinks can contain upwards of 7 Tablespoons of sugar, or more, per 12oz. Deadly. Exercise 30 minutes daily and maintain proper body weight are just as important as proper nutrition. Good luck.

Avatar f tn t been on an actual diet but I have cut portion sizes and cut out sweets all together. I eat a lot of fruit, no bread and hardly any carbohydrates. I go to the gym 2x a week where I jog for about 30 mins and then do some weights and use the cross trainer and the bike. The rest of the week I do various work out DVDs. So far I have neither gained nor lost any weight at all and I also haven't got leaner or more toned. No matter what I do I just can't seem to change my body at all.

Avatar f tn Your sugar levels are highest in the morning so u want to avoid anything high in sugar or carbs for breakfast. Try eating smaller portions rather than few larger meals.
Avatar m tn To reduce your ha1c, you need to avoid foods that raise your blood sugar. in particular this would mean avoiding refined carbohydrates. The best way to see the effects of food on your sugar levels is to test using a home test kit 2 hours after eating. If your levels are really high medications like metformin may also help. However, if your levels are really high you should be working with a doctor to optimise your levels.
Avatar f tn As far as diet everyone has a take on a healthy diet but few read nutrition labels for hidden sugars and excess carbohydrates [carbs to a t2 diabetic is the same as sugar]. Fruit contains fructose [aka fruit sugar]. There are diabetics, like myself, who cannot tolerate any fruits in any amount. Fruits to us is the same as ingesting pure granulated sugar. This is where home testing is valuable, to see what foods your husband can and cannot tolerate.
20620809 tn?1504362969 The other type of carbohydrates is known as complex carbohydrates - these are foods that take longer to break down in our body so don't turn to sugar right away. These include most vegetables, fish, seeds, nuts, whole grains, etc. You don't have to "love" fish to follow the Mediterranean diet. It does allow lean meat, chicken, etc in limited quantities.
1906849 tn?1321868182 With a fruit diet there is basically no protein (minimal protein in fruit) or fat intake. You will lose weight; however, the body will eventually become deficient of protein and fatty acids. Recommend a balanced diet with all nutrients - protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins and minerals for a healthy body. You can lose weight slower, however, in a healthy way. Thank you for your question.
Avatar n tn Porridge, Wheetabix, Shredded Wheat, fruit ALL contain significant amount of carbohydrates. I cant eat any of those (in significant quantity, 1 spoon full is about it) without having BG climb to un healthy levels (over 140) you NEED to use a BG meter to see what works for you.
Avatar f tn not just sugar but all carbohydrates... eat bread, BG goes up, eat potato BG goes up, eat pasta BG goes up, Most fruit will raise BG. See a MD, see a good diatition.
Avatar f tn Carry nuts and dried fruit in your pocket for a snack or peanut-butter-and-cracker, cheese sticks or power bars, single-serving energy gel packs to eat before running, this will give you quick energy and carbohydrates. Eat snacks and drink energy drinks immediately after running to replace electrolytes. Eat a High Calorie Dinner complex carbohydrates such as brown rice, whole-grain pasta and beans, high-calorie fish, such as salmon and tuna. Add extras to foods you already eat.
4238266 tn?1351628230 I am very Carb oriented and always have been as a result of a high metabolism and crazy active sports life.
Avatar f tn Teast before you eat Idealy your BG is under 100 (probably not if your diabetic). Count the carbohydrates in your meal. Eat. test your BG 1 hour, two hours after you eat. You are looking for BG to always be under 140 (BG over 140 causes damage to your body) or less than a 40 Pt rise in BG. If your BG rises more than 40 Pts you eat too many Carbohydrates. Carbohydrates raise BG ALL carbs raise BG whole wheat, brown rice, pasta, most fruit will raise BG.
Avatar m tn Fruit juice is concentrated fruit, fruit juice is has even more sugar than fruit. fruit juice will raise BG faster than fruit. In fact fruit juice is used to treat people with low BG because it is very effective at RAISING BG For people with T1, the ONLY treatment that works is insulin. If you are getting good numbers with using pills then you cant be T1. a BG of 113 is good numbers.
Avatar f tn Only have complex carbohydrates, not simple carbohydrates. No fruit juice from bottles or cans only fresh squeezed! You have to do cardio, a minimum of 30 minutes a day and you don't have to do it all at one time! You can do 10 minutes 3 times a day if you like. Cardio raises your heart rate that increases your metabolism. Go to the following web address and put in your information http://www.webmd.
Avatar m tn The things you listed (leaf lettuce, high fiber cereal, fruit) are all carbohydrates, meaning they all end up in the blood in exactly the same form: glucose. To your pancreas, insulin, or your blood, it really doesn't matter wether you ate a potato, cereals, a cake, pasta, 5 spoons of sugar, 10 apples, spinach, carrots, or drank beer. The only difference is the taste on your tongue, and in the stomach. After that they all get converted to same substance - blood glucose.
