If any one parent has Diabetes care is required with children's diet. Higher protein is good for Diabetics but just as good for everyone especially children.

I'm certain your whole family is concerned now with managing your son's diabetes and trying to learn about the disease & possible prevention. It is quite unusual for a youngster to be diagnosed with Type 2, altho' it is not unheard of, especially in some high risk ethnic groups where the children are obese. Has your 8 year old been seen by an endocrinologist?

I thought it was from carbohydrates, and started a diary to keep a track of the meals she's had the days when she had headaches. But it seems that her headache can come from nowhere, and in addition to that she feels like vomiting sometimes, but she never really does vomit.

No carbohydrates at all is not good for us, our bodies need all the nutrients but you can cut down the white bread and substitute with complex carbs, some cereal in the morning and you will feel ok, eat five or six small meals a day so that you control the insulin levels and you won't have those strong cravings of it.
