Avatar f tn t recommended as one of the better foods, its alot better than anything bought at a grocery store such as purina. however science diet is still relatively high in carbohydrates(fillers)....you need to check the labels and find the one with the lowest or NO carbs. and the HIGHEST IN PROTIEN. Evo by Innova and Wellness are the only 2 I know of that are completely grain free. there maybe others. If not buying these two try to check labels at a petstore and find the one that has the lowest content.
Avatar m tn Diabetes is not just about sugar. BG rises from all carbohydrates which includes bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, fruit, and of course more. However not all carbohydrates increase BG as quickly as others. I would suggest you google "glycemic index". It is a measure of how fast the impact is from carbohydrates. There are on line lists of foods with their glycemic index. There is only so much you can do with diet however. Some doctors are willing to prescribe metformin for prediabetes.

However, fat around the middle can be an indication of problems with insulin, such as diabetes or insulin resistance. Def. check it out with your endo if you're concerned!! They can run an OGTT if they suspect something related to that!!
Avatar f tn Since I exercise a little after I eat. My breakfast contains a little carbohydrates and some protein as well. For example, a slice of toast for carbs, and some bacon or sausage for protein and maybe eggs as well. But I try to keep it small, since I need to digest before I exercise. Then after about 1/2 hour aerobic exercise ( drinking water during this time as well) , I rest for about 20 minutes then I have a protein source. Check these sites for examples: http://www.webmd.

Very good examples when dealing with laboratory tests are " reference ranges " - as opposed to being called "normal ranges" (which should be avoided). I have noticed that if I drink more water or take a stool softener, there is typically less blood. I am currently seeing blood on my stools almost every bowel movement with a concentration of blood observed in the morning. I, personally, have not had any visual occurrences on my anus, penis, or throat.
