Avatar f tn I hated it...well the result. We got 410ml of lucozade to drink in 5 minutes. Real nasty stuff to drink even when not pregnant and on top of it after fasting for 12 hrs, nasty! Turns out I have gestational diabetes (readings were slightly elevated) where I now have to monitor (prick and test) my blood glucose everyday until baby arrives. ***** because it makes me stress about eating anything carbohydrate.

Avatar f tn Those foods that have high GI values tend to release large amounts of glucose in the blood stream more quickly as compared to those that have low GI values. As a result, the foods with high GI values cause your glucose to rise much faster than the foods low on the GI. Also, eat fruits with other foods to slow the absorption of fructose, fruit sugar.
Avatar m tn if possible , start carbohydrate counting. You may need to buy a basic scale in order to measure raw materials going into your curries and their carbohydrate count. The net has number of sites which can help in calculation. Best of health.
Avatar m tn But whenever i check the blood glucose levels with the glucometer, i find that the fasting values are not within the range of normal values viz 110 for fasting. but the post lunch levels always within the normal range of viz 140.The random levels always varies from 125 to 150. Kindly advise me whether i am diabetic and do i have to take medicine for diabetes?

Avatar f tn When i had a gastro my doctor told me to buy coke and lucozade. Coke will relief nousious and lucozade will increase your electrolyte. Helped me a lot. Also I heard bananas are good for stomach problems. I hope this will go away soon.
Avatar f tn t eat from midnight the night before your test. You have a blood test, drink 2 big cups of lucozade. Sit in waiting room for 2 hours. Have another blood test and go home. It's horrible I wanted to throw the whole lucozade up. If you eat breakfast it will mess us your results. This is in the UK though not sure where this page is based.
Avatar f tn Lost stone in 2 weeks the doc wont give me anything, i have the travel bands on all the time and have recently tried lucozade in very small amounts and this seems to help.. hope you start to feel better soon! Its so horrid..
Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?
Avatar f tn I drank lucozade on my first to make her wiggle lol
Avatar f tn My cravings are lucozade and crumpets with brown sauce on
Avatar m tn Hello, It would have been really helpful if you had shared details about your symptoms. What was the reason for getting these tests done? Elevated FSH and LH values help to distinguish primary testicular failure from secondary testicular failure which is hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.Your values are slightly above the normal range. It is best to consult your doctor who had advised these tests and discuss your test results. It is very important to clinically correlate these test results.
Avatar f tn We have to fast for 12hrs, get lucozade, wait 2hrs and get tested again. My blood glucose level was at 5.0 during fast and elevated to 8.2 (norm is up to 7.8). Here we get referred to diet changing classes and check our blood glucose over a 2wk period and then retested. I'm not sure if the test results is a true reflection of what happens? I mean, the level of glucose in lucozade is high and this drink isn't a natural product and contains loads of other artificial stuff.
11195379 tn?1427921527 I fasted, level was 5.0, given lucozade, after 2 hrs level was 8.2(should be under 7.8) so now i have gd. Ive read that drinking 3 glasses of water could help lower blood glucose. During my test i wasnt allowed to move around but could drink some water..but i didnt...so im wondering had i drank water if my level would be lower? I was so focused on keeping the horrid lucozade down (they cancel the test if you throw up) that i was almost napping in my chair for 2hrs.
Avatar f tn Orange juice, original lucozade and black pudding dipped in mustard and tomato sauce, never been able to even look at it before i got pregnant with my last pregnancy it was parsnips and picalilli lol
Avatar f tn I drank more water and did the dry food things like rice cakes and crackers toast and wen i did fancy something i ate it. I also drank lucozade yes it does have some caffine in it but that helped with energy levels. I also carried around polos to help with the sicky taste in my mouth and throat. Thats how i survived my 1st trimester.
Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
