Avatar f tn Those foods that have high GI values tend to release large amounts of glucose in the blood stream more quickly as compared to those that have low GI values. As a result, the foods with high GI values cause your glucose to rise much faster than the foods low on the GI. Also, eat fruits with other foods to slow the absorption of fructose, fruit sugar.

Avatar f tn I go in for an early glucose test also. My midwife said eggs and toast is good. Just nothing super high sugar or carbohydrate.
Avatar n tn Also.....I must add here......I am extremely energetic throughout the day (some days I manage a power nap of 20 mns after lunch) and have zero symptoms of Diabetes.
Avatar m tn if possible , start carbohydrate counting. You may need to buy a basic scale in order to measure raw materials going into your curries and their carbohydrate count. The net has number of sites which can help in calculation. Best of health.
Avatar m tn But whenever i check the blood glucose levels with the glucometer, i find that the fasting values are not within the range of normal values viz 110 for fasting. but the post lunch levels always within the normal range of viz 140.The random levels always varies from 125 to 150. Kindly advise me whether i am diabetic and do i have to take medicine for diabetes?
Avatar f tn If the levels are accurate, they suggest premature ovarian failure, which means that there are not very many eggs left in your ovaries. It also means that you would not respond well to fertility medications, and that you may go into menopause soon. IF all of this is true, (premature ovarian failure is quite rare) you could still have a child through the use of donor eggs and IVF. Probably the first thing to do is to consult with a very good fertility specialist! Good luck!
7628588 tn?1392763151 Yes, adopt a Paleo lifestyle. Humans were not designed to run on the carbohydrates we typically consume daily. They were seasonal treats found during the warm months of the year, honey, berries, and fruit. Our bodies have not evolved sufficiently to run on carbohydrates. Rampant Type II diabetes is proof of that. So, do you really want to lose weight, and lower your blood glucose level? No "white stuff".
Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?
1303110 tn?1273247668 Foods that will help you gain strength and give you energy are proteins (like eggs, hamburgers, seafood, beans) and eat those with a carbohydrate like toast, cereal, spagetti. If you have been sick for a while, drink stuff like V-8 and milk, to restore your electrolytes and vegie nutrients.
1272624 tn?1395434357 My doctor leaning more to AMH values than FSH. Mine were low, pretty normal for my age. I wish they would right those studies in English, Really!!!
Avatar f tn HI, if you are concerned about weight (to maintain) then you need to eat higher fat. This should come fro m healthy foods and complex carbs that digest slowly. Good foods which are energy dense include nuts, foods like avocado, eggs, meats.... these will give you calories, but won't increase your blood sugar.... Make sure you eat healthy fats with your carbs. These also slow down the carbohydrate absorption. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn 7 (cycle 2) and then one month later my FSH was 10.2. All values are Day 3. Estrogen and LH wnl. Why is my FSH 10.2 suddenly? I am just turning 35. Do I need to be concerned? I did get pregnant with the third ivf cycle (FSH 10.2) and had 18 good quality eggs, 5 blastocyst embryos. Now I am going through IVF again (lost identical twin boys to TTTS at 20 weeks) and worried about the elevated FSH.
Avatar n tn It is great that you are being proactive with your diagnosis. You want to make sure to limit the amour of carbohydrate you consume, as that is what will raise you blood sugar. The American Diabetes Association has meal plans available at no charge on their web site. This could be a good starting point for the changes you need to make. Another resource is your doctor, who should be able to provide you with carb, and calorie intake parameters tailored to you.
Avatar m tn Hello, It would have been really helpful if you had shared details about your symptoms. What was the reason for getting these tests done? Elevated FSH and LH values help to distinguish primary testicular failure from secondary testicular failure which is hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.Your values are slightly above the normal range. It is best to consult your doctor who had advised these tests and discuss your test results. It is very important to clinically correlate these test results.
219363 tn?1189755821 I have recently started a low carbohydrate diet with calories maybe 1500-1800 daily and 20 carbs maximum. My intake consists of vegetables, lean beef, chicken, pork and fish. I also eat eggs and 4 oz of cheese daily. I am losing weight on this plan. I had a headache at first, but it has gone away. I have more energy and sleep better, and have less aches and pains. I have lost 9 lbs, and want to lose about 30 lbs more. Is this safe and should I worry about any supplements.
Avatar f tn I've done some "wikipedia research" because I have similar symptoms and blood analysis. Here's the anomalous values from my blood test: >> CK -- 1076 U/L (not as high as your bf, but x10 time reference value nevertheless) >> folic acid -- on the low side (2.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I am a 31 year old female recently diagnosed with Dissacharidase Deficiency, otherwise known as carbohydrate malabsorption. According to my gastro, a bad viral infection I acquired almost 18 months ago knocked out only my lactase enzymes, but also the enzymes neccessary to break down sugars, most carbs and all starches. I also became seriously sensitive to fructose, the sugar found in fruit.
