Avatar n tn Are you throwing out words w/o knowing definitions? Metabolism is a set of chain reactions in living organisms to sustain life. And it's red blood cells that absorb glucose once it enters the blood stream. Here's some basics on how to control and manage glucose levels. Not much can be added since you didn't tell us anything about your diabetes, if any. Nor do I recommend medication/s as this is up to a doctor following an evaluation.
Avatar m tn Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day. Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
Avatar m tn are present and in which the amounts of virus or bacteria studied are far, far higher than encountered in normal life. In contrast, in real life, the environment is hostile due to the poor ability of these organisms to survive outside of the body. The presence of soap with its own anti-viral and anti-bacterial activities also tends to break down and kill organisms, if they are present at all.
Avatar f tn Lolol Ashdub!! You're too funny! I can't seem to get my O either...at least from my hubby. If I do I get it from myself haha.
Avatar f tn Exercise, even walking, will go a long way toward keeping it lower. The body uses glucose in the blood for fuel before it uses other sources, such as insulin, to control the glucose. Try to watch your carbohydrate intake. 1 mg sugar = 1 mg of carbohydrate. Of course watch your sugar intake. Regular soda and sweet tea should not be part of drink selection. Alcohol should also be avoided. Though an occasional drink is OK.
Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?

Avatar m tn s with nexium or prevacid, my stomach hurts. I feel really hungry and it starts a carbohydrate cycle. Has anyone had success taking NSAIDS after gastric bypass, or any good advice from their dOCTOR?
Avatar n tn I think you're making a common mistake in thinking about food, which is that protein is good and carbs are bad. This isn't at all true -- the majority of your diet should be carbs. Vegetables, for example, the core of a healthy diet, are carbs, whereas beef is very high in fat on purpose and hard to digest despite being high in protein and so is never weight-loss food.
Avatar n tn Ramp up your vitamin intake for a while and eat plain yoghurt with the live organisms. That will help restore the good organisms that the antibiotics destroyed.
Avatar f tn I agree with michell221. Candida is a yeast that frequently overgrows in the bowels for various reasons. A common reason is antibiotic use which kills off the good balance maintaining digestive bacteria as she said. Eliminating or at least greatly reducing your simple carbohydrates intake will help to stop the over growth as it reduces the "food" for the yeast. In addition to the foods michell221 mentioned, potatoes and rice and all processed grains can be a problem.
Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
Avatar f tn it is more a prebiotic, a food for probiotics, although some very good companies found in health foods stores do add in some live organisms after pasteurization, which destroys the organisms used to culture the milk. It's a great area for ongoing research and is a very hot research item and bodes well for the future, but it isn't responsive to the question asked, which is how to replicate valium without taking it in someone with an anxiety disorder right now.
Avatar f tn If I have anything like rice, or even a green bean, I get alot of pain in my stomach, tachycardia, swelling in my head with throbbing pain, sinus congestion, nervousness, anxiety, and even a change in personality. I've tried taking digestive enzymes, and it helped with the bloating, and severe flatulence, but all the other symptoms I just listed above still occur. I'm very weak and hungry and tired of eating only meat and lettuce.
Avatar f tn Fluids are easier to ingest after a vigorous workout than solid food and can be easily carried in a gym bag. Carbohydrate sports recovery drinks are available in powder form and pre-mixed liquids. Drinking a glass of fruit juice is another carbohydrate drink that is absorbed quickly and easily digested. Carbohydrate-Protein Drinks Adding protein to your carbohydrate recovery drink can speed recovery time while helping to rebuild damaged muscle tissue. John M.
Avatar m tn My suggestion is to increase water consumption and also focus in increase the consumption of foods high in fibers either via whole grains, all bran, fruits, salads or vegetables. The combination of all this together should help your stomach to not be screaming every time you drink “Muscle Milk” and don’t forget on the importance of this important foods for all of us!
Avatar f tn Even if my sugar is good before bed and I take my lantus it is always high in the morning. Any reason and any advise?
Avatar m tn What has often been said is to cut down or reduce your carbohydrate intake in order to reduce/lower your glucose levels. I have written in your previous postings that you need to use Google or Yahoo to search on complex vs simple carbs. Please include a search on the Glycemic Index reference food groups. Educate yourself about the foods available to you, what you put into your body and how these foods will affect your life. All carbohydrates are broken down to glucose to produce the energy.
Avatar f tn Sucralose is derived from sugar, however, it is not perceived by the body as sugar or as a carbohydrate. In specific studies in people with diabetes, sucralose had no effect on blood sugar levels, carbohydrate metabolism, or the secretion of insulin. Sucralose is not broken down in the body for energy and is excreted unchanged. As with most low calorie sweeteners, SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener also contains common food ingredients, in addition to the sweetener sucralose.
Avatar m tn It secretes Neurokinin B containing phosphocholine molecules. This is the same mechanism used by parasitic nematodes to avoid detection by the immune system of their host.[2]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immune_tolerance_in_pregnancy "Progesterone enriches the uterus with a thick lining of blood vessels and capillaries so that it can sustain the growing fetus.
Avatar m tn However, 2–4% of patients with late syphilis will show negative results with treponemal tests also. As the number of organisms are too low in late stages, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique may be a very useful test in establishing a diagnosis. What do i do now. Get a DNA PCR or not worry about syphilis. Please advise.
Avatar f tn If few organisms grow, the test is negative. If organisms grow in numbers large enough to indicate an infection, the culture is positive. The type of organisms causing the infection are identified with a microscope or by chemical tests. If urine tests are positive, medications may be tested for sensitivity or resistance to particular medications or antibiotics. Your negative result indicates no infection present. It would also be best to discuss your test result with your attending physician.
