Avatar m tn s a complex carbohydrate by structure, is often used in protein powder supplements and because it is technically a "complex" carb, it's also touted as a healthy! It's not! 594189 tn?1386916607 When we are exhausted or blue, we have low blood sugar and/or low serotonin, and the body signals the brain that it needs a pick-me-up. This signal causes a sugar craving or carbohydrate craving. Serotonin is our basic feel-good hormone. If serotonin is low, we feel sad or depressed. And hormonal imbalance or weak digestion can lead to low serotonin.
Avatar n tn My doctor said it needs to be below 90. All the information I have read said that anything below 110 is normal . I am now on a diabetic diet for gestational diabetes. Why is it important to be 90 or below before getting pregnant? Could this cause infertility? Since I've been on the diet my fasting glucose ranges from 91 to 97. My reading before and after dinner are within the reccomended limits for gestational diabetes. Why is my fasting level so high?
Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?

Avatar f tn To eat healthy include good portions of fruits, veggies, protein, skimmed milk, and take carbohydrate and fat in moderation. You must not stop any component of food as the baby needs all. Also talk to a dietician and a physical trainer after consulting your gynecologist, and chart out your diet and exercise program during pregnancy. Also, yoga during and after pregnancy helps keep weight in check. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn As a doula, I can say, I'm so sorry your so uncomfortable but babies come when they are ready. I would suggest going to a chiropractor, seriously if your feeling like labor is just right there and not kicking into gear this might help. Sometimes if your slightly out of alignment especially the hips and babies head can't reach the cervix this can help a TON. You can also walk the curb. So one foot on the curb and the other one on the ground sometimes this can help as well.
Avatar f tn Why wouldn't you be allowed to stay over ? If you're breastfeeding you don't have to let your baby stay the night away from you. F that. I breastfeed and would never let someone take my son for the night.. he's 8 months old .. I can't pump either so.. idk if you will when baby is born.. that would be a different story but I feel like a baby needs his mommy especially in his\her first few months of their life ! I'd not allow it..
Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
Avatar f tn Well yesterday one of the ladies lost her baby at 20 weeks. Then I see stories on here of woman losing there babies as far along as I am. Ugh. Its all I can think about today and I'm feeling kinda crampy. Not bad cramps or anything and my daughter is still moving like crazy but it just makes me paranoid. Thanks in advance for listening to me worry.
Avatar n tn It's such a hard thing to digest instantly but have a look into to it and see if you can find other mums with babies that have it. And it's ok to feel bad about it I found out my son would likely have Down syndrome I cried got angry and cried all over again. When I had him he was diagnosed with downs but I wouldn't change him for the world now. At first I was unsure how people would treat him. But he is my perfect little one who I love no matter what.
Avatar f tn When used in larger amounts, as in cooking and baking, these calories and carbohydrate should be accounted for by carbohydrate counting or by using starch/bread exchanges. As an example, one half cup of SPLENDA® Granulated contributes 12 grams of carbohydrates and 11 to 20 grams are counted as one starch exchange. In SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Packets, sucralose is combined with maltodextrin and dextrose. These ingredients contribute 1 gram of carbohydrate and four calories per packet.

Avatar f tn There is really nothing much to be worried about your baby unless he is totally malnourished and immunocompromised. You have to understand every baby needs certain amount of nutrients no matter which food provides it.Milk can be replaced by any source of food but not only milk.Ill give you details about that. • Energy requirement includes basal metabolism, the thermic effect of food, energy required for growth, physical activities, elimination • Total energy requirement: infant 110 k cal/kg.
Avatar f tn The 126 is worrysome, but it takes more than just 1 test to define you as diabetic. However you do at least have problems with your BG. What "diet" have you been on, since its carbohydrates that raise BG ! A low fat high carb "diet" just makes the pancreas work harder than it needs too! and can cause the pancreas to quit working earlier. The diet you need to be on is a low carb diet.
