Common Questions and Answers about Carbohydrate intolerance food

carbohydrate

Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?
Avatar f tn m not sure if I need to see an Allergist, ENT, Gastroenterologist, Internist or who because about an hour after eating a carbohydrate I seem to get inflammation and swelling on my right side only...starting in my right sinuses, behind right eye, right ear, right throat, right lymph gland in neck, and going in a straight line down the right side of my chest and down to my right kidney. If I only eat meat, salads, and non starchy vegetables, water and plain tea, I don't have any symptoms.
Avatar f tn It could also be gluten intolerance or carbohydrate intolerance or reduced stomach acid. Or possibly your gallbladder. A few more things to consider. Good luck finding answers.
Avatar f tn My partner has been trying to lose weight forever!. When I met him he was about 76 Kilos, 7 years later he is now 82. He is not very tall (5' 6'') so I guess he is about 2 stone over weight. He does not eat very much but unfortunately drinks too much. For a long time I have suspected he is 'glucose intolerant', in that even when he has carbohydrate available he goes shaky and experiences 'low' blood sugar symptoms.
Avatar f tn Could this be an issue since oatmeal is a trigger of too much fiber? Something else to look into is carbohydrate intolerance. https://www.merckmanuals.com/professional/gastrointestinal-disorders/malabsorption-syndromes/carbohydrate-intolerance. However, that would most likely would only be the situation if you have a long standing history since childhood of gi issues. People also can develop an oat allergy as an adult. https://www.healthline.
Avatar n tn You could also have some kind of carbohydrate intolerance to the sweeteners used in cola drinks. About quinine being present in colas, I am not sure. But yes, quinine if present can cause allergic reactions. You should consult an allergy specialist and get yourself tested for allergies to ingredients of colas so that you can avoid them in other food stuffs too. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
Avatar m tn Is a food intolerance something that can have a sudden onset? For example, eating dairy your entire life, but suddenly problems arise?
541150 tn?1306033843 Already two vets have told me nothing is wrong with him, so my guess here is he is either constipated or is having food intolerance. I feed him Science Diet. The food is high in fiber. When he eats dry food he does great but I really don't want to keep him on an all-dry-food diet. I know it isn't good for kitties to just eat dry foods. My husband suggested changing him to a raw food diet but I don't know.....it's not convincing me at all.
Avatar n tn t degradate all histamine that I ate ) so the most easy way out when I have to choose food are carbohidrates , which food I can select to reduce weight and don't acumulate histamine , there is any guide that I can access ?
Avatar f tn We both have been eating as healthy as possible considering our tight food budget. We drink milk without antibiotics or hormones, whole grain or whole wheat bread and pasta, limit our red meat, drink plenty of water, no artificial sweeteners allowed since they cause me migraines, and I make more food from scratch than boxed meals.
Avatar n tn How do you control your food cravings? And do you think you could lose weight more easily if you could manage your cravings?
Avatar f tn When used in larger amounts, as in cooking and baking, these calories and carbohydrate should be accounted for by carbohydrate counting or by using starch/bread exchanges. As an example, one half cup of SPLENDA® Granulated contributes 12 grams of carbohydrates and 11 to 20 grams are counted as one starch exchange. In SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Packets, sucralose is combined with maltodextrin and dextrose. These ingredients contribute 1 gram of carbohydrate and four calories per packet.
Avatar f tn I have also developed an intolerance to lactose and gluten these past two years. I have eliminated all lactose and gluten from my diet. Lactose intake makes my lymph nodes swell. My question is: Syntroid does contain lactose, and it seems that just that little amount prevents me from stopping the swelling, and feeling better. Could I switch to another thyroid medication? Should I continue on Syntroid, and take some digestive enzymes for lactose at the same time?
Avatar m tn By any chance did you get a gastric bypass—if yes, then this could be due to Dumping’s syndrome. Other than this carbohydrate intolerance and insulin secreting tumors of the pancreas could be a problem. Secondary lactase enzyme deficiency due to celiac sprue, tropical sprue or other intestinal infections too could be a cause.
Avatar n tn gluten, lactose, casein) and there are food allergies. Some people have carbohydrate intolerance. There is yeast overgrowth. Have you been checked for endometriosis? Ovarian cysts? Stress also sets off many people's intestines. Hang in there! Something will help - medications, stress relief, food elimination. It just takes time waiting for appts and tests to be done. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Your body will tell you by your symptoms. The way to figure this out is a food elimination/food challenge diet. The first thing to do is to keep a food diary. Don't just write down that you ate lasagna last night for dinner, write down what was in the lasagna to the best of your knowledge. Your best bet would actually be to make the foods yourself from scratch so that you know what you're actually eating.
8305112 tn?1402009678 Anyone else with food allergies or intolerance that just want to eat the entire world? It's rough, especially since I keep craving sweets (which is abnormal for me). I'm allergic to corn, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and a whole bunch of fruit.
