carbohydrate

Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?
Avatar f tn ) so I guess he is about 2 stone over weight. He does not eat very much but unfortunately drinks too much. For a long time I have suspected he is 'glucose intolerant', in that even when he has carbohydrate available he goes shaky and experiences 'low' blood sugar symptoms. For the amount he eats I think he should be able to have more success with weight loss. Even when I have got him to exercise weight loss is very slow and not as it should be.
Avatar f tn It seems like the sinus condition always involves gastrointestinal bloating, belching, gas, and pain in right kidney. If I eat any carbohydrate to try and fill up, I take complex digestive enzymes which helps somewhat, but I still get inflammation and pain on right side of my body from head to kidney area. Is it a lymphatic system problem? Fungus? Bacteria? If I have sinus trouble, I have digestive misery.
Avatar f tn It could also be gluten intolerance or carbohydrate intolerance or reduced stomach acid. Or possibly your gallbladder. A few more things to consider. Good luck finding answers.
Avatar f tn 11 years ago- colonoscopy: found nothing, declared diarrhea to be due to ibs. Eliminated triggers: dairy, caffiene, high fat. For years- saving grace was carbs. BUT I still had bouts of diarrhea and was never really normal. (Note: stomach was always flat, unless I overate and bm would quickly shrink back stomach). December 2009- bad abdominal pains: ultrasounds found a bunch of cysts but my doc. said they are not large enough to be causing pain. Weight: 128. (Note: highest in 15 years.
Avatar m tn Problem is that 5 years later the carbohydrate intolerance is bigger than ever. If I eat more than 50 grams of carbs a day I would wake up at least twice a night. When I strictly eat less than this amounts of carbs I can sleep through the night at once (!). But when I do some more physical activity like sailing with friends or vacuuming the whole house, traveling, etc I heat up in the moment and need to eat carbohydrates before I can even get to sleep.
Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
Avatar n tn You could also have some kind of carbohydrate intolerance to the sweeteners used in cola drinks. About quinine being present in colas, I am not sure. But yes, quinine if present can cause allergic reactions. You should consult an allergy specialist and get yourself tested for allergies to ingredients of colas so that you can avoid them in other food stuffs too. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Avatar f tn At this time when I eat very little sugar, or higher carb cakes (I live gluten free life, but flours like white rice flour has high carbs, that I coud not avoid yet, but I'm working on it). So when I eat a self-baked gluten free biscuit with higher carb flours, I get this strange vibration. Like an earthquake inside me. What do you think, can this be a withdrawal symptom of sugar? I hope so, and just hope that it will go away when my body will adjust.
Avatar f tn I have also developed an intolerance to lactose and gluten these past two years. I have eliminated all lactose and gluten from my diet. Lactose intake makes my lymph nodes swell. My question is: Syntroid does contain lactose, and it seems that just that little amount prevents me from stopping the swelling, and feeling better. Could I switch to another thyroid medication? Should I continue on Syntroid, and take some digestive enzymes for lactose at the same time?
Avatar f tn My husband and I both have digestive issues. Several times a day either one of us is in the bathroom. He had ulcers a few years ago, and mine usually begin around my cycle. Mother one of us know what's going on with our digestive system issues, and both need help. He can't eat normally. He goes a few days a week without eating, or only eating one meal a day, if hes lucky. We both have been eating as healthy as possible considering our tight food budget.
Avatar m tn You can find products that have zero carbohydrates, but are still pretty high in calories. A calorie is actually a measure of energy. Basically, everything you eat requires a certain amount of energy to "burn" it completely. Different types of ingredients take more energy for your body to process completely. Avatar f tn Could this be an issue since oatmeal is a trigger of too much fiber? Something else to look into is carbohydrate intolerance. https://www.merckmanuals.com/professional/gastrointestinal-disorders/malabsorption-syndromes/carbohydrate-intolerance. However, that would most likely would only be the situation if you have a long standing history since childhood of gi issues. People also can develop an oat allergy as an adult. https://www.healthline.
Avatar n tn I have no health problems and I am a very health-oriented person. I eat only healthy foods, and take supplements and exercise regularly. I do not know if my condition is edema, since I am not experiencing water retention any where except for my stomach. I have begun taking sodium chloride to help my body rid itself of unwanted sodium, but I am not certain whether or not sodium is to blame since I watch my salt intake very closely.
1659011 tn?1307486147 It sounds like gluten sensitivity or gluten intolerance to me. You don't have to actually be allergic and you don't actually have to have Celiac to have gluten intolerance. And, yes, gluten intolerance can irritate both the upper and the lower digestive tract, so, yes, it can irritate GERD. If you get aching elsewhere in the gut, it is likely aggravating the IBS. This doesn't sounds so strange to me, because I can't eat standard bread either.
Avatar m tn What did you eat? We know ALL carbohydrates (carbs) turn to blood sugar (BG).
745152 tn?1233144003 I get remissions after course of antibiotics which are prescribed as i get large, acidic stools and diarrhea off and on.recently my intolerance is becoming evident as i get pain in abdomen and diarrhea after large carbohydrate diet. I dont have any food allergy as it was explored by elimination diet. I want to know what is the prognosis as I have almost quit my job due to very poor health , energy and stamina.
Avatar f tn When used in larger amounts, as in cooking and baking, these calories and carbohydrate should be accounted for by carbohydrate counting or by using starch/bread exchanges. As an example, one half cup of SPLENDA® Granulated contributes 12 grams of carbohydrates and 11 to 20 grams are counted as one starch exchange. In SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Packets, sucralose is combined with maltodextrin and dextrose. These ingredients contribute 1 gram of carbohydrate and four calories per packet.

Avatar m tn hi tatin, yes people can be intolerant to sth from one day to the other... I'm the best example for it, because I got a histamine intolerance. Almost 3 years ago I got the diagnosis. I could'nt eat certain kind of fruits and vegetables as well. I always had this weird feeling in my mouth and I couldn't enjoy the meal anymore. Then I found a supplement called Daosin. Created by a company in austria which helps people with histamine intolerance.
Avatar n tn For either condition it is good to eat 5-6 small meals a day. With Hypoglycemia, it is recommended not to eat too much carbohydrates pre meal and actually eat more protein to help the blood sugar not to decrease rapidly. Thank you for your comments.
Avatar f tn A healthy diet, moderate exercise and pharmaceutical grade nutritional supplements to help break the cycle of carbohydrate cravings. They recommend 60 to 70 grams of protein a day. For fats, saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, with an emphasis on polyunsaturated, to help you feel satisfied and less likely to overeat. Avoid oxidized or rancid fats, trans-fatty acids and hydrogenated fats. Eat complex carbohydrates, which help to moderate blood sugar swings and provide fiber.
7628588 tn?1392763151 Help use up those latent carbs out of your system, and become a fat burning engine. Eat eggs, cheese, nuts, and meat. I eat about 30 pounds of shelled nuts annually; peanuts, walnuts, and lots and lots of almonds. Initially, it hurts a little. Your initially stomach aches from carbohydrate hunger. You will urinate copiously as your body wrings out every gram of carbohydrate it can use. But then you'll begin to feel better, more alert, the carbohydrate haze is gone.
