Avatar f tn There should be guidelines as to what your blood sugar should be when you are fasting, so make sure you adhere to that. As long as you blood sugar is well controlled overall (evidence by your blood glucose sticks) you should be fine. Your provider will also draw blood (HbA1c) at some visits to make sure your sugar levels are well controlled. If you experience dizziness or you still get tired it means your blood sugar is low.
Avatar n tn The vinegar tonic restricts the absorption of high-carbohydrate foods which lessens the blood sugar increase that usually happens after a meal.
Avatar f tn While it is normal to have a rise in blood sugar level after a meal, excessive rise in blood sugar levels could indicate inappropriate dosage/ timing of injecting the insulin or excessive or inappropriate proportion of carbohydrate in diet. You could start by slightly lowering the carbohydrate and increasing the protein portion of diet. If this does not seem to help, I would suggest consulting your treating endocrinologist for adjustment in dosage/ timing of the insulin. Hope this is helpful.
Avatar f tn In specific studies in people with diabetes, sucralose had no effect on blood sugar levels, carbohydrate metabolism, or the secretion of insulin. Sucralose is not broken down in the body for energy and is excreted unchanged. As with most low calorie sweeteners, SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener also contains common food ingredients, in addition to the sweetener sucralose. These ingredients are added to give the product form and texture.
Avatar f tn If a food that says it is sugar free has "carbohydrate" listed, then it can elevate your blood sugar.......this I found researching. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn BUT I CHECK MY BLOOD SUGAR, BEFORE MY BREAKFAST RESULT IS 5.44mmol/L, 98mg/dl, AFTER BREAKFAST 9.38mmol/L, 169mg/dl. Can u say, what is it?
Avatar n tn Your symptoms of headaches, shakes and lightheadedness sound like hypoglycemia, which is LOW blood sugar. Other symptoms would be if you get hot and break out in a sweat, find yourself feeling confused or perhaps depressed or irritable, or find yourself yawning for no reason. This can happen to people when they have not eaten in a long time or if they eat something that has a lot of quickly digested carbohydrates that cause the pancreas to be stimulated too much.
Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar n tn I notice that when I wake up in the morning its about 90 but when I eat toast I get very hungry and shaky around noon. When I take my blood it 50 to 60. Is the bread causing my blood sugar to drop?
Avatar f tn i am not diabetic but for some reason, for the.oast couple weeks i have been monitoring my blood sugar and its all over the place. the highest ive noticed was 281 after a big dinner and 2 minutes later it drops down to 113. any other ones are like, 232, 158 but i dont feel anything weird in my body at all. but my blood sugar when i woke up yesterday morning was 97 that was before breakfast. pls if u know anything about this, give an advice on wut to do.
645800 tn?1466860955 m aware a seafood itself is a good diabetic choice as it does not have any carbohydrate so it will not cause blood glucose to rise, but most fried foods can affect your blood sugar because fat slows down digestion and can cause delayed high glucose levels, theoretically shrimps ok but fry anything and it's not....

Avatar n tn Hi again Abeybaby, Yes, oats are carbohydrates (as are all breakfast cereals like wheat, barley, rice, rye, corn). While all carbos affect our blood sugar (even folks like you without diabetes), "whole grain" carbos are easier on our systems and don't typically cause spikes in blood sugar, because they have fiber to slow the digestion process. Your blood sugars after eating sound normal to me.
Avatar f tn I have type II diabetes. Blood sugar averages around 160. I was diagnosed w/Atrial Fibrrulation in June, CHF in May. I just checked my BS a half hour ago and it was 309. Ehat should I do? It's 1:20AM here.
Avatar n tn i take my medication as prescribed and was told to LIMIT sugar and carbohydrate intake.my sugar is usually 65-70 when i first wake up and stays stable thoughout the day (i don't check it if i don't feel sick). lately, for the past few months anyway, if i eat anything sweet at all, ex: sugar in my coffee is the usual culprit, about an hour late my sugar drops to around 40 and i can barely make it to the fridge to get OJ. why is this suddenly happening?
Avatar n tn Fiber can help keep your blood sugar stable. It slows your digestion, which allows for a more steady release of carbs into your bloodstream. Here's some advice from MedHelp.org and the Sugar Sense app on this topic. http://www.medhelp.org/diabetes/articles/Natures-Blood-Sugar-Secret/1822 You can find this in the app by going to the Health Guide from the menu in the upper left corner of the home screen, and toggling to the Eat Right section, then scrolling down.
Avatar f tn Low blood sugar and low serotonin levels can both cause food cravings. Serotonin is a hormone in the brain that helps make you feel good. When it is low, sadness or depression may result. Eating sugar or other simple carbohydrates helps temporarily because they stimulate serotonin release. If you are insulin resistant your body is still making insulin but the cells do not respond to it you may also develop persistent food cravings.
446335 tn?1223948356 A recent pre-op blood test showed a blood sugar level of 139. My doctor had me do the 2-hr. glucose tolerance test today. Don't have the results yet but the blood sugar test they did initially showed a level of 140. I know both of those put me into the category of diabetic. Runs in the family BTW, father managed blood sugar with Glucotrol. So what can I expect?
Avatar f tn I have an avacado, a Healthy Choice fudgesicle and some peanuts. Took my blood sugar this morning and it 141 fasting! Usually about 115 otherwise. Do you think I overate? My blood sugar was at 105 at 2:00 PM before eating.
Avatar f tn I had the same issue and my doctor increased my lantus. It may be necessary to lower your humalog to carbohydrate ratio. My endocrinologist got it spot on.
Avatar n tn Your glucose [blood sugar] levels are higher than normal but not that high to cause gastrointestinal problems. I feel your issue is beyond the expertise of your current doctor. I suggest you see a Gastroenterologist, a doctor who trained and specializes in the digestive system and its disorders. Blood draws and possibly a scan is in order. Lastly, do not take anything unknown to you that may increase your discomfort further than it is. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I feel hes missing out on kid things and parties at school because of the reaction of the sugar. Is there a way to test if sugar or fructose is the problem with his tummy issues.
Avatar m tn A couple of months ago i ran a blood sugar test and the result had increased from 84mg/dl to 106mg/dl,I was then advised by the doctor to watch my carbohydrate intake and eat healthy. I will like to state here that my favorite kind of meals are carbs, and i only managed to hid to the doctors advise of taking vegetables and fruits for about 1-2 weeks after the result.I recently noticed that i urinate frequently at night and that has brought fear and concern again to my sugar levels.
