1266263 tn?1270153368 When you deplete your glycogen stores, as can happen during repeated days of hard training and a low carbohydrate diet, you feel overwhelmingly exhausted. Eating high carbohydrate foods like cereal, pancakes, bread, fruit, vegetables, potato, pasta on a daily basis can help you train harder and compete better. All the best.
Avatar f tn While it is normal to have a rise in blood sugar level after a meal, excessive rise in blood sugar levels could indicate inappropriate dosage/ timing of injecting the insulin or excessive or inappropriate proportion of carbohydrate in diet. You could start by slightly lowering the carbohydrate and increasing the protein portion of diet. If this does not seem to help, I would suggest consulting your treating endocrinologist for adjustment in dosage/ timing of the insulin. Hope this is helpful.

Avatar f tn After a few hours later, my vagina was bleeding even though my period isn’t due until two weeks later. Then after a few days a pink mixed brown mashed potato like substance came out as discharge. Nothing hurts. It’s just that the are between my vagina and anus is very red and sometimes itchy which I uncnonsioucly makes me itch. It feels like the same feeling when you scratch an itch too long and then it hurts. Sometimes by vagina is itchy too. Do you know what is happening?
Avatar f tn s immune systemic has never been exposed to before, such as rabbit/potato, fish/sweet potato, etc. The best hypoallergenic diets are home cooked or prescription and your veterinarian can help you with that choice. There are a few over the counter diets that are also limited ingredient, such as Natural Balance or Solid Gold, but make sure to read entire ingredient labels, as some foods contain alot more than the front of the bag claims.
Avatar m tn Good question. I am a red wine drinker and there are minute amounts of protein and only 1% carbs. No fats. I'd like to know too!
594189 tn?1386916607 Your personal issue may be the afternoon snack (often chocolate or candy or a food that’s also heavy in carbohydrates), too many potato chips, the extra glass of wine at night, or a hundred other variations. But the underlying mechanism, and the way to curb cravings, is the same. And it has nothing to do with willpower, or your lack thereof! Food cravings mean that the body has its signals mixed up.
Avatar n tn It is great that you are being proactive with your diagnosis. You want to make sure to limit the amour of carbohydrate you consume, as that is what will raise you blood sugar. The American Diabetes Association has meal plans available at no charge on their web site. This could be a good starting point for the changes you need to make. Another resource is your doctor, who should be able to provide you with carb, and calorie intake parameters tailored to you.
15481674 tn?1440853541 re not sure about the best food, try a home cooked diet including human-grade meats and fish, freash cooked vegetables (no more than 10%) and a carbohydrate like rice or potato -white potato or sweet potato. and buy a good supplement suitable for dogs to add to the home cooked food. She could eat this while you are researching what is the best dog food for her. I can't really advise, as I live in UK and there are many dog food brands which are different elsewhere.
Avatar n tn What is your daily carbohydrate intake? What is your daily exercise regimen? What is your current weight? Without knowing all the aforementioned in detail you made it difficult for us to try and figure out the cause/s of your elevated glucose levels.
2065896 tn?1373685384 Yep, prednisone (long-term) can cause diabetes both in humans and dogs. One of our dogs (a Toy Fox Terrier) was on prednisone for about 8 months due to health problems including allergies, he developed diabetes, and now is on insulin and a low-carbohydrate diet. (I think it's more likely in dogs to cause diabetes, I was on prednisone at high doses from 2-14 years old and I have some long-term side effects that do remain but I don't have diabetes.) Have you tried adjusting her diet?
Business woman1 Also the diet should contain more of green leafy vegetables, fruits and protein and less of spaghetti, potato etc. I suggest you eat frequent small meals and stop counting calories. It is best to eat lots of fruits and non-starchy green veggies, go slow on fats, eat carbohydrates in moderation and increase your protein intake (lean cuts, whites of eggs etc). Drink plenty of water and non fattening fluids such as clear soups etc.
Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?
675347 tn?1365460645 Small amount of lean turkey meat (no skin, as that is too fatty for most dogs, and has been known to cause attacks of Pancreatitis), plus plain cooked potato or sweet potato, plus a few greens, plus some plain gravy (no onion.) That's an OK Christmas dinner. No more. Glass baubles or anything else hung on a tree. Make sure the dog can't get at them. Playful puppies are obviously more at risk. DON'T hang chocolates on the tree!
Avatar f tn Any type of lean meat is acceptable; yes, even red meat, with the fat cut off. Chicken and turkey are good choices, as well. Center your meals around veggies, rather than meat. You can eat unlimited amounts of almost any type of veggie, provided that it doesn't have butter or sauce on it, and you'll be adding very few calories. "Wake up" your veggies with lemon juice, cider vinegar, herbs, spices and/or maybe a bit of olive oil.
Avatar f tn You can buy all kinds of cheap, healthy foods, if you watch what's on sale at your local grocery. Many times, frozen foods will be on sale at "buy one, get one" prices, or they will have sales on fresh fruits and veggies. Make sure you get plenty of protein, in the form of meats, chicken, fish, eggs and dairy. Grill, bake or broil your meat, as often as possible.
Avatar f tn Your doctor can advise you about these medications, which may include over-the-counter (OTC) medications as well as prescription drugs. It's especially important to avoid using acetaminophen (Tylenol, others), which can cause liver damage even in healthy people. * Eat the healthiest diet you can. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean protein. Healthy foods help keep you strong, give you more energy and support your immune system.
Avatar n tn Unless you have a medical reason not to - try alternating tylenol with ibuprofen for pain relief comparable to some narcotics - ie tylenol 1000 mg at 6 am, 600 mg advil at 9, tylenol at noon, advil at 3 am etc. Also look for dermoplast spray (the blue can for the genital area, (not the red can) or another topical anesthetic spray ask you pharmacist Keep the affected area as dry as possible and wear no underwear (if possible) to let the air get at the area.
Avatar m tn I have a boston terrier who was always red around his nose. We tried benadryl which helped with the itchiness but made him too drowsy. He'd get scabs from itching his little face. We even had a biopsy done of his facial skin. The results of that were inconclusive, just suggesting an allergy. It couldn't determine if it was environmental or otherwise though. My vet suggested doing a food trial.
