Avatar m tn I had a skin problem like that too but nothing over the counter worked. The doctor gave me something called lostren. A cream. You probably need something perscribed too.
Avatar f tn I have been formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and possible Carbohydrate Intolerance. My issue is when I eat a load of carbs, it hits up to 3 days later and I can't hardly get out of bed and am weak most of the day. Everything I read about Carb Intolerance says that fatigue usually hits within the first few hours. Has anyone else experienced this? Carb crash, a day or days after the carbs are eaten?
Avatar m tn I read in a book called food for cures that you are suppose to put golden raisins in a dish and cover with gin, let set until all the gin is disolved into the raisins and then you are suppose to eat 9 a day for athritis pain, I havent tried it yet but found it very interesting.
Avatar n tn Hello, 2 days ago I drank 3 glasses of gin with sprite. I didn't got drunk..just dizzy From yesterday until now, I'm having a few stomach issues like: Burning sensation Feeling like throwing up Pain So, you think that this is normal? and if yes how much time it will take for stomach to heal? Can I do something to make it heal faster? thanks!
Avatar f tn t know which kind of arthritis it is. I eat gin soaked raisins to help. They must be the yellow golden raisins. Put an inch or so layer into a saucer. Cover the raisins about half way with gin. Let them have time for the alcohol to evaporate. Afterwards it doesn't taste much like nasty old gin. With the last batch I made, I just left them uncovered on my kitchen counter all day rather than covering and waiting days for the transformation.
Avatar n tn Some people can drink vodka or gin without developing a headache but cannot drink red wine, beer or the amber-colored hard liquors. Red wine contains tyramine which probably causes these headaches. On the other hand, hard liquor contains ingredients called cogeners, which may also cause headaches. Darker, amber-colored liquors contain more congeners than light-colored liquors, such as vodka and gin. Take care and best regards.
Avatar m tn Due to stomach problems, I have decided to try a Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Has anyone experienced relief on this diet? So basically, this is what I got from it- fresh vegtables, fresh fruits, lean meats, most nuts, NO LACTOSE, NO SUGAR (except in fruits and honey), and NO STARCHES. Is this about right? Also, what is the policy on yogurt and coconut milk?
Avatar f tn Carbohydrate cravings are a hallmark of insulin utilization problems, and often signal the onset of diabetes. You need to see a physician and request a test called an hba1c, and preferably a fasting glucose test as well. "Checking the sugar" is meaningless because at times you may have normal blood sugar, depending on when you have eaten.

Avatar f tn When used in larger amounts, as in cooking and baking, these calories and carbohydrate should be accounted for by carbohydrate counting or by using starch/bread exchanges. As an example, one half cup of SPLENDA® Granulated contributes 12 grams of carbohydrates and 11 to 20 grams are counted as one starch exchange. In SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Packets, sucralose is combined with maltodextrin and dextrose. These ingredients contribute 1 gram of carbohydrate and four calories per packet.

Avatar m tn Hello, before the availability of insulin patients with type 1 were treated with a no carbohydrate diet (ie their diet was mainly fat, and just a little protein). they were usually able to survive a few months on this diet. If a person is really type 1 (ie. their pancreas doesn't produce any insulin) they need injectable insulin to survive and be healthy. THere are cheaper insulins available (NPH N and R) which can still work well, if cost is an issue.
Avatar m tn Sorry you are experiencing these symptoms... Unfortunately, you really have to stop drinking alcohol.... plain & simple ( BUT IT F**&^% *****). My friend hasn't really experienced the horror of Crohn's and ulcers and he has a mild case of Crohn's and STILL drinks his gin, beer, jager and eats whatever he feels like. He has it mild & will feel SOOO much better if he quits. You will too I bet, plus you dont even get a buzz on... what fun is that. I'm the same.
Avatar n tn A good probiotic, such as Prostora (available by prescription) or an over the counter product such as VSL-3 available online, and an over the counter pediatric digestive enzyme may be beneficial regardless of the cause. Additionally, a change to a grain free holistic diet may also help. Choose such brands as: Evo/Innova, Wellness, Natures Variety, Taste of the Wild, Instinct and others. Use 1/2 or less dry and 1/2 or more canned.
Avatar f tn I've been taking methadone pills 60 t0 70 mg daily for about 1 year along with drinking about a pint of gin daily. I am not under a doctor's care so all the pills I get is off the streets. Anyway, I am tired and I want to come off methadone, but I'm afraid of the w/d that everyone states is so damn hard. What is the best way to detox? Should I try suboxone? I don't think that I can do it cold turkey.
