It started with absence seizure and at the age of 17 he started having convulsions. He has been on carbamazepine 1600 mg per day for 8 years aND had seuzures at an average of twice per year. Last year after marriage the frequency increased. Thrice in 3 months. We went to a different doc. He said that he had primary generalized seizure or a right right frontal focus with hemispheric bisynchrony. He also said that carbamazepine is not right medication for it so slowly changed it to kepra.

As it generally is given in a 200 mg pill form I was kind of surprised that she wrote the script for 800 mg/day. 400 mg in the am, 400 mg in the pm. Should I go up to 600 mg/day and see how that works? My only hesitation is that the medication causes severe dry mouth. If I can get more pain relief with the lesser dose, it makes sense to try that first, right? Also, most neuros have to have a referral from your gp don't they? Will some see you without one?

No, I am supposed to take 100 mg zoloft twice a day, for a total of 200 mg. I am supposed to take 150 mg of effexor xr, once a day, for a total of 150mg. Guzzo hit the mark first time out of the box and prescribed 200 MG Carbamazepine which was like water to a man dying of thirst. He also reccomended follow up visits to nerve and headache specialists. My period of attacks were very infrequent 4 or 5 times in a day. I started with carbamazepine 200 mg 3 times a day. I started to recover and withing 2 months there were no pain attacks. My doctor is weaning me off invega. He has me on a lower dose 3 mg for a week. Then I discontinue it. He is hoping my other antipsychotic, seroquel xr will be enough. He raised that from 150 to 200 Mgs. Anyone have experience coming off antipsychotics?

But doctor told me to reduce medicine, I reduced but i was fine till 200 mg, Later doctor started to say seroquel is not good take another and the new one made me hard to work i left work, hard to do anything. agreed, and we started the tapering process. Down to 37.5 of Effexor XR while starting 200 mg of Wellbutrin. Well, no problems at the 37.5. I was on that for a week. Then, I stopped the Effexor altogether last Thursday. So it has been 4 days. Still on Wellbutrin 200 mg. OMG, when the heck are these w/d symptoms going to subside?? I have been on xanax xr 1 mg. my doc wants to wean me off now, its been about a year. xanax xr doesnt come in .75 so he wants to start me on xanax xr .50. Is this to fast to come off of it? Has anyone here ever weaned off of the xr before?

Her drug of choice would be carbamazepine, 200 mg at night to start, then increasing weekly to a goal of 400 mg. I do not know much info concerning that drug. Just that it is used for seizures? Any side effects that you know of?

I have to stop taking Effexor XR 300 mg, Wellbutrin XL 300 mg, Lamactil 200 mg cause of unable to afford medication. unemployed, but makes too much for mental health help. Are my withdrawal symptoms going to be worse with me having to stop all 3 of these at the same time ?

I took eff xr for a year 200 mg of it everey day....It litteraly saved my life, this drug it changed my whole outlook on my life and life in general. This drug was a major breakthrough in my life. When I got off of it I just stopped all together because I couln't afford it any longer,and to my surprise I still felt changed and had no side affects.For me this drug is one miricle for me it worked!!!

I am taking 400mg of tegretol xr. it has stopped the pain of a knife being stuck in my ear drum and my eye, but my jaw still aches so hard it feels like it will bust my teeth, and the roof of my mouth and the fronts of my lips burn like heck! these episodes have been lasting 1-4 hours....truly unbearable! hi, i had suffered from partial seizures when i was 13 years old . i soon started carbamazepine ( 600 mg).i was diagonosed with a cyst in the brain( doc said due to a parasite's egg reaching the brain, neurocysticercosis) .After a year i gradually stopped the course and was fine for 7 months when i had a partial seiure again. this time the mris showed that the cyst had vanished( i had taken sm meds fr that in the beginning) and my eeg was normal too. i started carbamazepine again.

I took one dose of 200 mg and ended up in the ER with rapid irregular heart rate, chest pain and I could not stop moving around. I was freaking out. They gave me adavan and the symptoms went away. The doc said not to take it anymore. Its an adverse reaction to the medication. find a new doc.

Hi everyone, I have 3 cats that are litter mates. 1 little Princess girl, and 2 little stinker boys. I also have 4 other kitties. The 2 brothers came to blows about 4 days back and now 1 has an abscess by his ear on the top of his head. I've been able to clean it with some Chlorhexidine scrub and warm water a couple times since finding the abscess yesterday.
