Avatar m tn I do 15 Mins of treadmill (avg 10 speed), 10mins of cycling followed by 5 mins of skipping (rope jumping) everyday. After that I do 1hr of weight training (single body pary) 5 days a week. Would this schedule help me lose weight. P.S I do follow a diet, but mostly I tend to binge eat once or twice a week max.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am also trying to lose some weight, and it's just-stay healthy. I workout almost every day,or at least I try to do some walking or cycling when I don't have the time, and you need to watch your calories. But that's not it,tou have to make sure you get the good calories, not the empty ones that are in cookies and such. Women's health mag helps me a lot, too!
2053729 tn?1330435506 I have been watching what I eat following a high carb/low carb diet every other day. According to what I have researched, my BMR is 2485 and I eat about 1800 calories a day, so I should be losing weight just being me. Add in the approximate 2000 calories I burn with my exercise and I should be melting into a puddle! We do a lot of weights, pilates, abs, pushups, strength bands and squats at my aerobics class so I know my body is changing. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Avatar m tn My guess is your blood sugar cycling up and down. Unless you take blood sugar measurements throughout the day, you will not know it, as one reading only does not tell the whole story. Have you noticed any pattern with what you eat and dizzy spells? For example, if you eat protein+fat breakfast (eggs, cheese, bacon, etc) versus a carb rich one (low fat muffin), you would likely feel better with protein+fat and otherwise dizzy with carb rich meal (which causes blood sugar cycling).
Avatar m tn I am currently trying to lose weight but I also want increase my overall strength and muscle especially in my arms and stomach. What kind of exercises should I look into doing and I am also willing to invest into protien shakes, etc. What would you recommend?

Avatar f tn v=_5AFFltDJFU The Peak 8 routine it will quickly raise your heart rate 8 times for very short bursts, with a cooling down period in between. Ideally you’ll be sprinting or cycling full throttle for 30 seconds with a 90 second cool down in between each outburst. This is the fastest way to lose fat and build muscle in the body. Peak 8 actually stimulates the growth hormone in the body.
506259 tn?1228788619 I also was put on an acid reflux med that hasnt put a stop to this. I have been given muscle relaxers again no alleviation. Today I was prescribed a pain medication, again no alleviation. The only alleviation seems to be time. I am tired of being in massive pain weekly. I am tired of having so many tests and seeing so many doctors and not being helped. My symptoms are so multiple and everchanging that it makes me nuts, let alone trying to go through the variaty with the doctors.
Avatar m tn Dear All, I am fifteen years old and would like to lose some weight. Please don't tell me its unhealthy for teenagers to diet, because I'm not happy with my body weight, I'm a little overweight. I am on a no carb diet, with mainly protein and wegetables, and I'm excericing a lot; walking, lots of running and riding, but I'm not losing weight. I'm 120lbs and would like to be at least 113.

Avatar f tn your blood sugar may be cycling up and down, which may suggest eating a way that reduces the cycling. To do this, eat low carb diet, moderate protein and balance of calories from fat. Stabilizing your blood sugar will likely help the ups and downs you are experiencing after eating.
Avatar f tn 2 in the Annals of Internal Medicine shows the low carb high fat diet excels for weight loss and heart health. The low fat diet saw more lean muscle lost than body fat. Good tip: avoid low fat everything. :) "People who avoid carbohydrates and eat more fat, even saturated fat, lose more body fat and have fewer cardiovascular risks than people who follow the low-fat diet that health authorities have favored for decades, a major new study shows.
Avatar n tn For example, you can increase light exercise (walking/ cycling), make sure you eat light meals, drink a tall glass of water every hour throughout the day, use a natural stool softener or herbal colon cleanser capsule, and add more veggies/fruit to your diet. Stay away from heavy, carb laden foods and stimulant laxatives. If none of these suggestions seem to help, speak with your doctor for further advice.
Avatar m tn so if a person on low carb diet suddenly eat carbs then blood sugar goes high because muscle dont absorb it anymore. not sure if can be reversed or not. maybe low carb high fat is one way street?
Avatar n tn I exercise a lot, jog for 4 kms (non stop almost) 4 times a week, do weights, stretches, cycling etc, Have a well regulated diet. Fasting sugar always is below 110. PP was earlier 130. Have diabetics in hereditary. I am 5.3 in ht and weigh 64 kgs. What could be the reason ?
Avatar f tn Hi there im on a diet and was wondering what kind of fruits would be low carb or any kinda low carb snacks for in between meals or at lunch time ?
Avatar f tn I was eating too much refined sugar (a naughty carb lol) in my low calorie diet. And when you are insulin resistant/diabetic you are losing excess magnesium through the urine. Magnesium deficiency causes muscle cramps. I reversed my severe insulin resistance by avoiding added sugar (I'm not a big carb eater otherwise) and I'm no longer losing excess magnesium either. From Diabetes UK - Low Carb High Fat Diet... "What is the low carb, high fat diet?
594189 tn?1386916607 Maybe the low carb diet is right for your body? Not everyone can follow all diet plans. I still eat carbs (a ton) and I'm still losing weight without a problem. Maybe stick to this low carb diet till the end of the month and see what weight comes off, if none maybe switch to something of your own.
Avatar n tn I'm into cycling, I ride about 240 to 300 miles a week. I'm trying to take my cycling to the next level. I have been riding with a group that pushes me harder than ever. The question is, I start to feel like I'm going to throw up when everyone starts to really hammer on the speed. Is this due to not being use to it? well my body over come this?
Avatar m tn Eat healthy foods is the main component to build healthy muscle, so try to consume maximum real foods not packed foods. One can also use dietary supplements on the prescription of dietician. Eat meat, fish, poultry, milk, eggs for proteins and also take adequate quantity of green vegetables and fruits like peers, apple, oranges and pineapple. One can perform squat exercises in which the whole body muscles work together and thus provide healthy muscle.
Avatar f tn t help you burn fat (unless you are starving yourself), just water loss and muscle (protien stores) and low carb diets are very unhealthy for you, puts you into a state of ketosis, which creates ketones that are very toxic to your kidney and liver. To lose fat you need to eat healthy, gain muscle (muscle is your metabolism) and do aerobic cardio and sometimes implement intense cardio, such as HIIT. You need to do more than just go on a diet.
Avatar f tn The proteins that shorten and lengthen your muscles inside each muscle cell increases, resulting in an increase in muscle size and weight. The enzymes needed to convert the food you eat into energy for resistance training increase. Your muscle cells are also able to store more energy from the foods you eat. Though your fat cells are shrinking, the increase in lean muscle tissue weight is off-setting the weight you lost from fat.
850029 tn?1238857820 I'm looking for suggestions. I am a personal care attendant for a young man with Autism. Actually, I do respite and he stays weekends with me every few weeks. I've known the young man and his family for 6 years. Every so often (6 months or so) the young man will seem to cycle like someone with Bipolor might. He seems to just loose all control of what he doing. I am so lucky that the kid is so well behaved that even at his worst, he actually pretty good.
Avatar n tn stretching too hard and cycling for long time can cause muscle-contracting strain resulting in a tear or minor bleeding. Icing the sore muscle initially is helpful. Take, over the counter pain medication and muscle relaxant for couple of days. Keep observing for swelling, redness and consult an orthopedic doctor if it persists to get checked up. Drink lot of water and take rest. Do update on your progress. Take care.
