Avatar m tn My father had a heart attack about 2 and a half years ago but recovered reasonably quickly. However, in the months afterwards he had several brief blackouts which we later discovered were occurrences of his heart stopping briefly for a few seconds or less. Initially the hospital had no idea that his heart was actually stopping because even though he blacked out, by the time he arrived at the hospital all of his medical results showed as fine - his blood pressure, his ECG, etc..

1084115 tn?1385228589 The mean half-life for multiple doses in the body is about 12 days, but very long-term kinetics are dominated by the kinetics of RBCs (half-life 40 days). RBCs store ribavirin for the lifetime of the cells, releasing it into the body's systems when old cells are degraded in the spleen.

Hope it helps.

Avatar m tn there are people that live years and years with stage 4 COPD so just keep living. See the glass as half full and not half empty. Hang in there and get busy doing the things you like. Easier to say than do but honestly people are amazing and scores on tests just cannot tell you how long you have.
202665 tn?1248806733 It depends on the half-life of the drug. One half-life means half of it is out of your systems, the second half-life means half of that half is out, and so on. It is generally accepted that after 7 half-lifes that a drug is entirely out.
Avatar n tn I get that dry cough too. I don't take an ACE inhibitor though, I don't think. Just Lopressor, Dyazide/Maxzide, Lipitor and aspirin for the heart issues. For me it started a couple of years ago one summer after pushing myself too hard. I start coughing out of the blue to the point of either just about passing out or vomiting mucus. Urgg My chest hurts and feels sunken in, pounds very hard and quivers sort of and then I'm fine till it happens again.
Avatar n tn I understand that the half-life of naproxen in the body is 12-17 hours. My question involves something I haven't found in other forums. When does it become safe to consume alcohol after taking an NSAID such as naproxen? If I take 1 unit of naproxen at 7:00 PM on Thursday, can I drink at 7:00 PM on Friday even though, according to the half-life, there is still about one-third the amount of naproxen in my system?
