Avatar m tn If these two drugs are cross tollerant will your physical addiction will just swap over and you'll go into withdrawl once you stop taking the zopiclone, even though zopiclone is not a benzo?
Avatar f tn I kept buzzing the nurses throughout the night because I was so high on Zopiclone. They eventually came in and tried to sedate me again and I was fighting and refusing them that I excreted urine while they were trying to get a handle of me. I remember taking the my pillow and tried strangling myself.... That was a week in the hospital and those are all my memories. Somehow I managed to get home and I don't remember how. I agree a high excess of zopiclone does not make you sleep.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed me trazodone hydrochloride for anxiety, sumatriptan succinate for migraines, zopiclone for sleep, I've been told I can take the trazodone with zopiclone, but I have the new sumatriptan tablets, it says in the medical pamphlet that it is an MAO-A inhibitor and can't be taken with antidepressants/anxiety tablets. Would it be ok to take both the trazodone hydrochloride and the sumatriptin succinate together?
Avatar m tn my GP put me on zopiclone almost two weeks ago after involuntary methadone withdrawal (75mg to zero in 8 weeks). It does get me to sleep but am now concerned with the possible addictiveness of it. Am struggling horribly with withdrawal for the 1st time in 46yrs & been on methadone 18 years & used opiates the previous 7 years. Opiates addicts since 17. if anyone can help me I'd be so grateful.
Avatar n tn Hi Beccy71 , hope you don't mind me saying but that's a lot of Zopiclone you are on , Please try not to panic about it that will make you worse , Try and cut down a 7.5mg a week , till you get it down to 3 /7.
Avatar f tn s important to have a good taper plan. Some doctors still seem to think it can be stopped cold turkey but if necessary you can refer your md to Dr Ashton's site which has a tested schedule for zopiclone tapering with minimal withdrawals:- http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/bzsched.
Avatar n tn I do intend to stop taking tramadol as soon as I have enough Zopiclone to last me, at which point I can lean on Zopiclone and zopiclone alone (alongside the prescribed trazodone as well, as suggested) for sleep.
Avatar m tn My question I have co-zopiclone 5mg , its put me down one and half hour then I am up and down like a yayoo . My doctor office was closed today and will see him on monday ..
Avatar m tn You do not need to taper Zopiclone. You can take it as needed whenever you want. You can stop it it without adverse consequences (other than insomnia, of course). I do encourage you to continue your gabapentin, however. It is a very helpful medication for a few months after the withdrawal of opiates. Good for you for quitting. Stay strong!
1622896 tn?1562364967 Zopiclone can be habit forming when taken regularly. It is usually only prescribed short-term and for more severe cases of insomnia. Withdrwal from this med should not be done too quickly. Some of the withdrawal symptoms are the same as quitting alcohol or benzos. Even though it is classified as a hypnotic it is still difficult to stop.
Avatar f tn Mirtrazipine and veneflaxine can cause seizures but it's rare. Zopiclone on the other hand could result in seizures if you skip doses. Zopiclone is usually used for short-term relief even tho it's not a benzodiazepine, it is quite the same procedure.
Avatar f tn Started having sleep disturbances a couple years ago. With the stresses of school, have increases my use of zopiclone. Was on 3.75mg, then 7.5mg and up and down when possible to cut back or needed because of stress. Finished my RX Dec 26 and have been without it for about 7 days now. No tapering. Symptoms have included rebound insomnia, intense anxiety that runs through my body and stresses me out when night time approaches. Nausea. No appetite. Depressed. Anxious.
Avatar m tn so just quit the actifed and for now keep on taking the zopiclone, you can sort that out later with a dr.
335728 tn?1331414412 I want to keep track of how often I require these aids to help me sleep so that I can report it to my physician. Thank you!
Avatar n tn Hi there please ask your Doctor before coming off Zopiclone no matter what dose Please take care ..........
Avatar f tn However, this is disputed by one study of low dose zopiclone taken for only 7 nights. It found that discontinuation of zopiclone caused significant rebound insomnia. Furthermore when midazolam taken for 7 nights was discontinued no rebound insomnia occurred suggesting that zopiclone may have even more significant problems of tolerance and dependence than the benzodiazepines. After 3 weeks of use mild to moderate rebound withdrawal symptoms appear upon discontinuation of zopiclone.
1634491 tn?1302410573 hi and welcome, i am not that familiar with zopiclone, but i do believe it can be addictive, and that it shouldnt be used with methadone, at least not without expert medical advice, someone with more experience will most likely be able to advise you, are you on a methadone program?
Avatar f tn How does someone get help for their spouse who is abusing zopiclone? My husband has been on zopiclone for about 6 months and is now going to multiple doctors to get it prescribed. He takes it in the morning and depending on how much he takes, passes out, or gets in minor accidents (around the house or driving). He says he doesn't have a problem, but these accidents are a problem, and so are the memory losses and the fact he can't function most of the time.
Avatar f tn Thanks so much for your input I dont want and will not take zopiclone with me, I feel better just hearing you say the things you have said.I promise I am not taking the ativan for any other reason but Im a bad flyer but believe me if I can get away with not taking it I will.
Avatar n tn I had a rough time quitting Zopidem but it can be done. August 8th was my 3rd anniversary clean from it. It took me 4 months of slowly tapering. It's exactly like tapering from a benzo. You must resolve to go slow, stabilizing each cut before going down to the next amount. Even then, you'll have a ways to go with insomnia after you're done with your taper. But eventually you can expect to sleep.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed zopiclone 7.5mg for 4 weeks by my doctor. It was supposed to be 1 at night but i find 1/2 a tablet helps me get 6-7 good hrs which i am happy with. my question is will i get withdrawal from taking 1/2 tablet nightly for 4 weeks if i stop or will i need to taper? Also is it realistic to expect my liver to repair itself given time....i have no symptoms of liver damage....i'm asking just in case?
Avatar f tn t doing anything got the side effects off 100mg shakes feeling sick head aches faster Heat beat excess sweating and the worst night time falling asleep anxiety ever I have to resort to zopiclone to get me asleep just hoping in the next week or two I can get back to normal sleep I take 100mg am and can feel sleepy a few hours after but then I pick up again until bed time where it scares me I'm gunna get no sleep without having to take the zopiclone really wondering wether to swap to taking it
Avatar n tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. Your symptoms are not related to the drug zopiclone.
Avatar n tn I have had a sleep problem for the past two years. It started with body temperature discomfort, then progressed to night sweats and hot flashes, although I had been comfortable on ERT for 14 years. Because of a CLL diagnosis I had to go off estrogen. The hot flashes were intense and nearly hourly day and night so I went back on ERT. Of course by then my sleep patterns were much worse. My hot flashes are now looked after by the ERT but the sleep problems aren’t.
