antihistamine

Avatar m tn It began in 1976 and re occurs every 5 to 6 years. I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out.

You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used.
Avatar n tn After that attack(it lasted about 2 hours and it was torture i seriously didnt know if i was going to live after that day and thinking about that just made it last even longer, and when you try not to think about it, you think even more about it, its an everlasting cycle, it is probly pretty much the same thing as a heart attack pain wise) my chest hurted for almost 3 weeks after that probably because of how hard my heart worked during that time.
Avatar n tn Use hydrocortisone 1%. Can get it in drugstores. Started taqking it yesterday and it's almost gone. Started out as a skin colored bump on wrist. Scratched it and it turned into about a hundred red bumps. So itchy I wanted to chop my arm off. By tomorrow it will be gone.

Avatar f tn For a number of years now (started when I was pregnant with my first child, who is now 32) my skin reacts when I am in the cold by going red and blotchy, very itchy so that I want to scratch my skin off and very hot as if the blood has rushed to the surface. The worst feeling though is that I feel very light headed. It does not have to be very cold but happens even in the summer if there is a wind. I find this very annoying as I love to go for long walks.

Avatar n tn You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.

Avatar f tn I hope you can give me some advice before I will find a better/another doctor than my current one... Thanks.
Avatar f tn PUPPPS rash needs to be dried out to heal or if it is a severe case it won't go away until delivery. Your doctor can prescribe you with a antihistamine to help you from itching it (can cause infection if skin is broke) and for at home treatment- stay away from baths. Throughout the day use Witch Hazel rub whenever it starts acting up. During a shower put coconut oil on it and rinse. Right after drying off from shower put Cortisone 10 on it.

Avatar n tn but putting tons of zit cream doesn't take care of it. One thing I noticed was when I was pregnant (2x's) I didn't develop the rash. Does someone have any idea what this might be?????
Avatar n tn It's a normal pregnancy thing that is just another thing I have to live with. Once you have the hives there is no real treatment or anything you can do until your delivary, then it generally goes away, from what the doctor has told me. He subscribed Benadryl, cold showers, gentle soaps, and a cream. I won't lie.... it's not helping! Good luck!
544292 tn?1268886268 The length of time withdrawal symptoms occur can range from a couple of days to weeks depending on how high your dose was and how long you were on the drug. Withdrawal symptoms can be reduced by discontinuing use of the drug slowly (i.e., gradually reducing the daily dose). Tramadol is more complex than other opiate and opiate-like medications because it also appears to have actions on the GABAergic, noradrenergic, and serotonergic systems in the brain.
Avatar m tn Also, a 24 hour antihistamine, Allegra is the best then Zyrtec then Clariton, take any of the 3 that you can tolerate. Also, stay out of the heat, bright light bulbs, cover your self with a light shirt and pants.... a hat but you do not need to get heated like sweating.... Also, taking, comfortably cool showers, not hot or cold, will help but wash with the CeraVe to rehydrate your skin.... Also, buy a water purifier for your tap water...
Avatar n tn I'm already tired of this and kind of impatient because of the creams I use with no results...So can you recommend a good Cream that I can tell my doctor? I will be seeing him in one month...Please help me.
Avatar n tn I have been suffering with this for 6 years now. It started when I was pregnant. VERY itchy arms that kept me up at night - it was always worse at night when I was less mobile. The best thing I have found is to wrap your arms up tight in cold wash cloths, and then again in a towel, very tight. Then - I take a benadryl at night to sleep when I have a "phase". It does come & go. At first I thought, well if it's the nerve damage, why does it come and go?
541150 tn?1306037443 Heat, clothing, and body soaps can cause it to be worse. Use baby soap, no lotion, try not to do the dishes if you can. At bedtime try not to sleep under the blankets, that can agitate it as well. Hopefully it's not the cause for the itching, good luck, and hang in there. If you are that concerned....there should be no issues heading to the ER or even L&D!
