Because I still believe that Tramadol is unique in it's ... terror and torture of humans, this thread continues. The people who can understand what you are going thru are the people who have kicked it and there's people here who come back to lend a hand. You also will never need an understanding ear as much. You can do it. You can quit. You do not need to be a slave to Tramadol.

If you must take tramadol, do not take it at the same time as fluoxetine. Try to take tramadol and imitrex a few hours apart from the fluoxetine.

you are in the right place. but i have to warn you, you need to taper completely off tramadol. avisg has kinds of info in her journals about this drug. if you dont taper off there is a very high risk of seizures. please be careful....lots of us here have taken anti-deps when we were getting clean. they do help.

I have taken both of these meds before together and had no reaction. Your pharmacy should catch it if your filling a med that may interact with another med you take and warn you then.

I would ask your doc or pharmacist. Perhaps you would do okay with an Effexor increase? How long have you been on it, and what dose do you take?

I worry if I don't take an antidepressant I may go back to tramadol. can't take trams and AD together. I do have a problem with depression. I make myself excersise every day plus take vitamins, eat healthy. I'm beginning to wonder if the tramadol ate my brain or something. And thank you, you guys are great. I wouldn't be over 100 days free from tamadol if not for this forum and the ppl here.

I was addicted to Tramadol for 5 years and went off of it (tapering) and my last pill was Jan 28th. For those of you who have been successful with the recovery, how long did it take to feel "normal"? I still have no motivation and feel really depressed (am on antidepressants). I'm worried that I'll never feel right again. Please give me some advice. THanks for your time!

For this very stomach pain..Prozac is a anti depressant amd tramadol has pain and anti depressant in it.. I can take tramadol but not much. Because of serotonin toxicity. I had tried ibuprofen etc 1st before I decided to try half a tramadol 1st to get the pain to ease up.. I was afraid to take more then that.. when the pain didn't ease up, I then tried half of a 5mg vicoden .. which are actually mine and prescribed for me.. but I had hubby lock up for me.. so between pain and fear..

Can anyone with experience with this drug tell me how effective it was at treating pain and what side effects they encountered.

m coming off Tramadol as you know. The depression for me, has lifted, because I think the tramadol was causing it. With you; Is it depression or anxiety? Or is it simply Withdrawal Lethargy? I so undertsand not wantingto take anything else, so I would reccemnd that you correct your diet as much as possible, take the vitamins and aminos and above all, start exercising very slowly. Also getting outside and getting Vitamin D! SO important.

I'm curious if you are on any prescription meds? I have had patm for over two years. I take Wellbutrin (bupropion) for depression. I'm experimenting with a few weeks without the medication and I think it may be reducing reactions. Any one else on prescription meds, specifically depression medication?

Hi. I take it you've not tried plain old paracetamol + ibuprofen to see of that'll help? If you have a history of addiction it's not 100% safe to have what can be an addictive med. However it MUST NOT be taken with alcohol so if you do take tramadol and it helps the pain and you don't drink then that's great. But if you slip up then you must stop and find another way for the pain.

HI the key to coming off methadone is to do it slowly talk to your clinic they can put together a taper plan for you we cannot talk about them on the forum but if you take your time you can minimize the withdrawal as for the drugs cloidine is helpful but not all doctors will prescribe it the actual withdrawal last about 7 to 10 days then you hit the post withdrawal witch is no sleep and the energy crash it ruff stuff to get off off but if your determined it is doable I was on 150mg and it took

ve tried over 10 on many different intervals and finally gave up and found a way, for me, that works to handle any of my depression issues. I do however, take Tramadol as it helps me immensely with the aches and pains and actually gives me a bit of a mood boost as well. I do not take the Tramadol that has acet./Tylenol in it. I take just the regular strength of Tramadol 50mg, not the ER. It works fine for me.

I strongly suggest you do take it .I would hate to see you go from one addiction to another I would ask doctor for other options.

it is hard to feel like a zombie and exercise helped me along with the aminos...on prozac u would need to ask ur pharmacist which ones are safe for u to take as that is a strong AD....if it doesnt let up ask him to try something a bit lighter...it is hard to find the right AD..and sometimes we just dont really need one....

I was going to recommend sam E and L'tyrosine but you take take them on prozac it could cause a spike in your blood pressure .worried is right maybe you should discuss with the doctor changing you antidepressant ,.

Now, that said, I also want to plead with you NOT to go cold turkey on the Prozac. I did that once when I went on a vacation and forgot to pack the stuff. It was many years ago and I still shudder and cringe when I remember the truly horrible nightmares I had for three nights straight. I also had diarrhea and general malaise, but the nightmares were really the horrendous part.

But now Im starting to feel alot of anxiety, and depression, and big headaches! does anyone know what I can take to get rid of that feeling? I used to take antidpressents, but I have no insurance now. I am just trying to stay away from PILLS all the way to. Standard short half-life opiates tend to resolve faster. Longer half-life opiates such as Suboxone and Methadone (along with Tramadol) can take much longer. Just hang in there.

Or anything else? Since I was taking a bunch of stuff that was supposed to help with chronic pain. Everything seems really really loud and out of control and yet; it isn't. How long must one take Tramadol for the w/d to set in? My Dr. replaced vics with Tramadol and I have taken it as directed for 5 days. 2 every 6 hrs. I almost didn't fill the script out of fear of possible opiate like w/ds, but I did and have taken it for 5 days now. If I start tapering today will I still suffer bad w/d's? If I can avoid the w/d I'll deal with the physical pain.
