4178478 tn?1350667364 If you have an allergist call and all them. I believe you can take ceterizine it is the generic of zyrtec i believe and it's class b. Or over the counter chlortrymeton(spelling) id what my OB suggested for my allergies when they were driving me nuts.
Avatar n tn I went and seen a doctor about this and was told I have allergies, I was perscribed the generic for singulair for 10 days, and zyrtec for about 2 weeks to see if I got better. I opted to take the medicine at night (tonight)...and i can't sleep and my throat is so dry even after water. I really dis like medicine...I get anxious...what are some other options to feel better?... HELP!
Avatar n tn i tried quite a few but they make my vision blurred and pain in the back of my head......the doc has prescribed me singulair but ive read about the sideeffects,i am already on antidepressants.......
Avatar f tn t have an appointmet with my doctor for two weeks. I had been taking singulair and zyrtec but I stopped until I can clear it with my doctor. Are these medicines safe and if not is there a safe one out there?
1517808 tn?1290813790 I have the same condition. My general doctor referred me to an allergist/immunologist, and I was told that I have autoimmune urticaria (hives). I was prescribed an antihistamine (Zyrtec), Zantac75 (an antacid that also has "alpha blocker" properties), and Doxepin (an antidepressant that also has "alpha blocker" properties. Over time, I stopped taking the Zyrtec and Zantac. Now I am only taking the Doxepin. This seems to control everything pretty well.
Avatar n tn I take a 24 hour allergy pill each morning and by the time I go to bed at night I am too itchy to sleep so end up taking a benadryl. I have allergies to dust, mold, trees, grass, ragweed, etc. and know I do have some food allergies that I hope to uncover soon. The one I have found is shellfish which makes me oh so itchy beyond what I normally am. I did do a diet that a Naturopath put me on to eliminate yeast from my body (no dairy, sugars, yeast, wheat, gluten) and I did feel better.
Avatar f tn Sooo.
Avatar n tn Every body is different though and if you notice it everytime you take the drug, maybe discontinue and try something else like Zyrtec.
Avatar f tn The next virus, the same thing happened, then they put him on Singulair hoping to keep the wheezing at bay and keep him off of the dangerous prednisone. Well, now every time he gets sick, the wheezing flares up and he has a nebulizer we use to keep it under control. The past few months of sicknesses has been the worst. He was on prednisone 3 more times and still while on Singulair. Now he is on Flovent and Singulair hoping to keep his wheezing under control.
4165464 tn?1384457741 I asked my dr at my pp appt and she said zyrtec (not sure if that's how u spell it) is safe
Avatar n tn I know this is a really old post but I started having the same symptoms on Zyrtec. My doctor then put me on Singulair and the pain and all the good stuff that comes along with it has started again. I just quit the Singulair this past Tuesday, I believe, and the "lingering pain down what feels like the whole urethral tube" has subsided a little. I thought I was going crazy. So glad to have found your post. I hope you are in good health.
Avatar n tn t really work for me anymore and claritin and zyrtec are effective for only half the day. I took 2 tablets one day (about 4 hrs apart) and became very drowsy and felt like I was in a fog the whole day. My nose had a bad reaction to the nasal spray the one time I tried it - it became very congested and I was sneezing for an hour. I have been taking Singulair (prescribed by my PMD) for the past week and it has helped a little but not as much as I expected (Still congested at night).
Avatar n tn I think the whole point of the allergy is to keep you out of the sun and other UVA and UVB rays. So I would say no, you should not tan even if you are on medications to control it. The medications are to help you for those times that you have to be out in the sun. I dont think it covers tanning. But Im not a doctor so you might call him/her and ask them.
Avatar f tn m also wondering if my asthma medications are making my immune system weaker because the colds started about the same time I started taking them. Anyone experienced that?
Avatar m tn I am now on Alavert as I find it does the job of Zyrtec and is a lot cheaper and I also take Singulair for its anti-alergy benefits. I also take Advair which keeps me open and breathing normally and not keeping my wife up with my weezing. So, I suggest the pulmonologist or a really good ENT / Alergist. Best of luck.
Avatar n tn I believe that my child has a behavorial issue. She has emotional outbursts and loses her temper really easy. If she gets upset, there is nothing we can do to snap her out of it. Sometimes I do something to distract her and she forgets that she was mad. She says mean things to her sister and grandmother. If she gets in the "zone" nothing I tell her phases her. She will not follow directions and does not care if she gets spanked.
Avatar f tn -Second myringotomy and adenoidectomy at 16 months. Very infected sinus cavities and ears. 10 day run of Augmentin and 6 day run of antibiotic ear-drops post-op. -Second myringotomy was due to complete 'plugging' of both tubes and continuing ear infections. -RAST test showed Level 2 Egg White Allergy (all egg products removed from diet). -1 day off post-antibiotic (11 days post-op): fever, effusion from ear, green sinus drainage.
