Can you take prevacid and zantac together

Common Questions and Answers about Can you take prevacid and zantac together

prevacid

Avatar f tn I have had heartburn forever and I tried the prescription meds, but I feel the Zantac works the best. But 75 is not enough, make sure you take 150 mg. twice a day. Also, you can supplement it with Mylanta or Maalox liquid if it's really bad. I'm not saying this will be a miracle cure, but it's worth a try. Unless you tried Zantac already, I don't know. Let me know.
Avatar m tn Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.
547002 tn?1219797376 re going to come off it, you may have to step it down slowly and then transition to histamine meds for reflux before you can completely stop taking anything. Some people can do it quickly, others can't.
Avatar f tn m so used to avoiding heartburn trigger foods that acid reflux is seldom an issue for me anymore. You can also get the same type of tablets (basically the same formulation and low price) at several other stores, such as Shopko and K-Mart. At least I've been able to do so. Hope this helps you. By the way, it's apparently not just the PPIs like Prevacid that can cause heart issues (palpitations or arrhythmias), but also the H2 blockers like Zantac or it's generic form ranitidine.
Avatar n tn You can take otc zantac, tums, maalox, mylanta and pepcid. If it's really bad and none of those help you can see if your doctor is ok with something like prevacid or prilosec.
Avatar n tn Is it safe to take 60mg of prevacid in the morning and 20 mg of prilosec in the evening?
10678677 tn?1413254266 I've had to tale rolaids and or tums due to heartburn.....I did it with my daughters pregnancy and had no issues with her......pregnant with another girl and I've had to take them to help again.....
Avatar f tn Is it okay to take Prilosec? They said Zantac was okay, but not to take Prevacid. I bought Prilosec and want your opinions on it.
1448936 tn?1363206346 I haven't taken a zantac today and my burning subsided a bit. I'm still very nauseated and feel like I have something warm and a slight burn in my throat. I got prevacid to start trying to see if that will give me more relief. I also feel as though sometimes I have too much saliva in my mouth. I'm assuming this can all probably be chalked up to acid reflux? Hopefully the prevacid helps.
Avatar f tn the only thing that ***** about the prevacid is that you gotta take 30 mins before breakfast and it makes you nauseous but it works all day long.. for sure talk to your doctor cause what they can prescribe works 20x better then what you get over the counter..
Avatar f tn I will talk to home about Prevacid and zantac. Oh and I can relate to feeling heavy at times too. Mostly when I'm in my feet for to long that's when I feel like an anchor to the ground lol.
Avatar f tn Zantac.
Avatar m tn If so are H2 meds like Pepcid and Zantac ok, or are PPI meds like Prilosec and Prevacid better? Thanks and have a great day!
Avatar f tn Most OBs should be able to give you a list of things that are safe. You can also take Unisom Tablets. They help you sleep and help with morning sickness.
290867 tn?1333569278 s what I meant. I meant Prevacid. Mine was put on Zantac first and was then switched to Prevacid and that was better. The Zantac only helped for like a couple of weeks and then went right back. Well, if they have tried all of that, then maybe a GI specialist is the route to go. It sounds like your doc has tried everything. And maybe your doc is right. Maybe when Julian starts solids, it will help. I hope so.....for both your sake. I know it's hard....Just hang in there.
Avatar f tn my daughter is on prevacid and it works great!! She was on Zantac and that did nothing for her.. I also had her on enfamil ar but shes lactose intolerant so that just made it worse she is now on good start soy and she gets bottles thickened with cereal... If your son has acid reflux they should have already told you to thicken feedings.. I know the stress of having to go through this.. my daughter is now 5 months old and she has been on prevacid for 2 months and it is much better than zantac.
14089185 tn?1439417585 My doctor suggested Zantac 150 twice a day because tums didn't help whatsoever.. and trust me I suffered when i didn't take it! My little man was born may 5th and i haven't had to take anything for heartburn since. It'll get worse but should get way better if not disappear after you have your baby. Hang in there it's miserable.
1391312 tn?1421086993 People on HCV antiviral therapy often use one of the PPI drugs like Prilosec to manage reflux/GERD, Sly. Do you use this already, and dos it give you relief? If you’re treating and use tums or something similar, it might be a good idea to avoid taking it at the same time as the ribavirin.
Avatar f tn Tums is definately okay. I googled it and it said zantac was okay so Ive taken it like 3 times when my heartburn was really bad.
Avatar n tn gov/pubmed/19911354 I hope that I reach out to people who can benefit by my post. I know how you are suffering with afib and this could be the cause for many people (although not all). I am going to have an endoscopy done soon to see if there is anything else causing problems. Best of luck to all those suffering from the dreaded afib - it is truly a nightmare.
Avatar f tn I have vagus nerve damage- non diabetic gastroparesis. I have extreme acid production. This past year the acid has gotten worse at night. I get up every two or three hours because my stomach feels like it's on fire. I currently take 2 prevacid in the am and two at night. I take an extra strength zantac when I get up at midnight. The relief lasts about two hours then I wake again with my stomach burning so carafate. The carafate helps sometimes but not always.
