Can you take prevacid and zantac together

Common Questions and Answers about Can you take prevacid and zantac together

prevacid

all these medication prompt the body to create some hormone or enzyme,i forget the name, which will make more acid. may be you should just stop taking prevacid and watch what you eat and dont eat anything 3 hours before bedtime. and take a glass of water with baking soda to neutralise the acid already there before you go to bed. There is site which talked about this substance which make the body create more acid.
It is such a relief to have it gone for the most part. I am so glad my doctor put me on Zantac! I'm glad to hear Prevacid is working for you as well!!
gov/pubmed/19911354 I hope that I reach out to people who can benefit by my post. I know how you are suffering with afib and this could be the cause for many people (although not all). I am going to have an endoscopy done soon to see if there is anything else causing problems. Best of luck to all those suffering from the dreaded afib - it is truly a nightmare.
Do you think that is OK and hour or so before the riba. ================================================= PPI's like Prevacid do not interfere with your ribavirin so you can take them any time. Same with OTC H-2 Pumps like Pepsic AC and Zantac 100. On the other hand, antacids like Tums, Maalox, Mylanta, Gaviscon, etc; can interfere with ribavirin absoroption if taken within 2-3 hours of the ribavrin.
Cam is a little young to have friends there, but the kids are so sweet to him, and he likes to watch the kids. There's also a little girl 5 weeks older than him and they get to hang out together on the floor and play when the big kids are busy playing downstairs and napping. I miss them so much during the day, but my days go by pretty quick and my boss is really understanding so if I needed to leave for a sick kiddo, they would be fine.
It has much more of the good bacteria than yogurt. You can buy it at health food stores. You just take a couple of tablespoons a day and store it in the refridgerator. I took it for awhile after I got off the antibiotics for H.Pylori. Constipation doesn't necessarly mean bowel obstruction. I had an obstruction in my small intestine and didn't have constipation. I did have a lot of stomach (or general area) pains that would come and go and sometimes diarehea.
So about 1 month of experiencing the fib and bad stomach I started taking 150mg of Zantac for my stomach, you can guess the rest, the day after taking the zantac the fibs were gone. I know Dr's say there is no connection but after reading your note and the many replies I had to add my own two cents.
I am no stranger to panic and anxiety. I have studied panic and anxiety for years and have suffered from severe episodes. I can get though the worst panic episode imaginable. This is nothing that you can breathe through or calm yourself down about. As a matter of fact I don't even get anxious about them anymore just really annoid and uncomfortable until I get my speach back. I hope to get something to go on.
I know there is a forum here on that topic but I am hioping someone can advise me on some info and expierances! Also who has used this formula and had a good outcome!
2 months and has had stomach problems ever since, with allergies, and asthma on top of that, so i sorta know how you feel. as amy said you can take him to another ped. without changing his ped. just hang in there.....we're praying everything gets better soon!!!
We talked about the next step and after talking for quite awhile, she feels I'm a canddiate for Protonix and perhaps Paxil to calm the anxiety this has caused. I know you take Protonix Jenn and like it. The nurse did explain that what works for one may not work for another. She herself takes Protonix and likes it alot. She has bad reflux and the Protonix has improved her quality of life.
Please let me know if you get 'puffy / asthma' like feelings when you are feeling bad. You are not alone, and we can only do our best. I've had all the tests too, and the doctors can't help much. They kind of give up if their first prescription doesn't work. We have to try to sort it out ourselves once we know what the tests show. Good luck - please drop me a note.
Then you go into flight mode and it becomes 10 times worse. From what I have learned you need to learn and control your anxiety. Take deep breaths and I find that talking to a family member or friend helps. Get there opinion on the matter, it is always good to have an unbiased opinion. Ask them, should I go to the ER? Tell them how you are feeling. Many have stated that interlocking your fingers with your hands above your head and moving down your neck can release pressure from the gas.
Horrible emotional/brain/nervous system problems. But other can tolerate it fairly well. You won't know until you, yourself, try it. That's a fairly hefty amount of drugs at one point. I'm glad you'll have a doctor to oversee it.
I'm so used to avoiding heartburn trigger foods that acid reflux is seldom an issue for me anymore. You can also get the same type of tablets (basically the same formulation and low price) at several other stores, such as Shopko and K-Mart. At least I've been able to do so. Hope this helps you. By the way, it's apparently not just the PPIs like Prevacid that can cause heart issues (palpitations or arrhythmias), but also the H2 blockers like Zantac or it's generic form ranitidine.
I was completely niave I thought I was gonna take the PRILOSEC, CARAFATE and MAALOX and be cured over night,HELLO! As you can see I'm here and it's December! I need support!LOL:) I don't want to say the meds arent working but "I THOUGHT" I was geeting a cure! HELLO AGAIN! No I dont live in denial everyday!LOL What I found out is that it can take up to a year for this to heal if not longer and because I worry well that explains it too! Stress is a BIG part of this!
I'm not sure if there is any link to what causes your sickness but it may be worth keeping a diary of what you eat in detail so that when you are sick you can look back over time and see if there is a commonality. Dimethylpolysiloxane may be the culprit in your life - I believe it is my problem.
She just had classic signs of reflux and Prevacid (and only Prevacid) took care of it. We tried Axid and Zantac before Prevacid. She was weaned 5 months ago. Now DS is refluxing as well but he's not as bad as DD. There are days when I just want to put him on Prevacid as well b/c I don't want him to go through the pain DD had to until she was 4 months (due to lack of experience on our part) but his case is not clear cut as DD's was.
He only gave you a prescrition of zantac? why not prilosec or prevacid? there much stronger at reducing stomach acid. I for one cannot tolerate the bloating from prilosec so I take zantac and maalox at the same time for complete relief. I take it in the morning and after lunch. good luck.
Fellbetter, thanks for the reassurance it's just over here in the uk they don't like to sedate you unless you really need it. If you don't mind me asking what did you have the test for? If the Hiatas hernia is confirmed does it self repair to a certain degree and will I need to take zantac( what I am using) indefinately?
We actually didn't get it under control until she was 8 months old. Zantac alone wasn't enough. Prevacid and Zantac together did the trick, but the ped had never heard of a baby needing both. So, we were sent to a gastro who we saw around 6 months old. She also did not like prolonged use of both zantac and prevacid, and she doubled the prevacid dose to 2 solutabs a day. That did the trick and by 8 months I felt like we finally had the reflux under control.
I would try to prop up his mattress. Another thing you may want to try is tummy sleeping (that is if he can roll alone and hold his head up). Another thing is to lay him down awake (or he'll expect you to be there if he opens your eyes). Finally, it takes awhile to get them to sleep alone. I wish it only took a night or two... but it can take a few weeks.
She has been on Zantac since 4 weeks old, but it just wasn't doing enough. She went onto prevacid at 4 months old, and I was so excited to notice a huge difference within 24 hours. However, we have been unable to wean her off of the zantac. If we miss even 1 dose, the poor thing starts shrieking, arching, turning red, etc... I tried to get her down to twice a day because she had been doing well. Only 3 hours past when her dose would have been due, she was inconsolable and in obvious pain.
Eat at least 4 hours before bed I am already doing all this too much saliva difficulty swallowing constant pressure in my tonsils and ears (increases after eating) feeling of suffocation feeling nauseas after food If feeling of suffocation is too bad, then I take 150mg Zantac. If symptoms persist I take up to 40mg of Pepcid and Gaviscon. I was on Omeprazole for about 6 weeks and switched to Nexium 4 weeks ago. I feel Nexium is not doing enough to relieve my symptoms.
water, drink water. That will help brake that stuff up. I'm not a Dr. but have the same problem that you're going through. Have you ever had a allergy test done? That's my problem, go to the store and get some over the counter allergy meds. claritin or something. Not cold and sinus, or allergy; just an allergy med. I say try this med. because it helped me and when I went to the Dr.
You are not alone. Look up prilosec and prevacid on askapatient ******* Tons of people including me are having serious adverse side effects and for whatever reason (perhaps $$$) are being completely ignored. I've had every test under the sun from blood work ups to spinal taps and apparently nothing is wrong with me despite having lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks along with a ton of other symptoms.
You find that in most cases you can thin blood vessels and as such you are not suppose to drink cold drinks and cold water. If you can afford drink a glass of red win every day which is good for digestion and your heart. This has worked for me. Check the fat in your blood aswell. Wish you all the best.
Well, you guys know that my PVCs are back. I take fish oil and Cal/Mg. They were gone for so long that it was very nice.....mmmm. THEN they came back. Anyway, I noticed that it was about a week after I started taking Prilosec every day. Then I didn't take it for a day or two and they got a lot better. I took it again....back. Stopped...they calmed. Yesterday I didn't take it and I had a decent day. I am going to ride this one out.
hi there, I can totally relate to you...i have been experiencing anxiety and panic for years now. I just found out a month ago that i was hypothyroid. I know the anxiety is the worst feeling and how debilatiting it can get. I was told by my docs that i was deprressed and was put on anit depp...which did not help only got worse. I finally found a doc who believed in me and is treating me. I noticed when i was on l-thryoxine i felt worse. I would say find a good doc and hang in there.
