oxycontin

Avatar f tn Check out www.drugs.com. Enter a search word and find the "drug interactions" section. When you look up "pegasys or ribavirin" for example, I found that one of my sleeping pills was on the list, so I switched to another brand.
217599 tn?1202850952 prescribed oxycodone for the pain. he really needs it, but we are wondering how long he can take it before he becomes addicted. not that he wants to take it, he just can't stand the pain without it. his incision is 10 inches long, down the middle of his back. he is also itching a lot. could that be from the drug?
Avatar m tn I did a taper... my advice would be to break them up and take parts of them only when you can't handle wd's anymore. You will notice if you do it like this(write down your dosage, when, and why) You will need them further and further apart.
Avatar f tn Its really not a good idea to use one opiate to get off another. Can you try some motrin and a muscle relaxer there is one called zanaflex that found to work very well, what ever you desided to do its great you are getting off the percs we will be here to help.
Avatar f tn These meds are usually prescribed to take every 4-6hrs as needed for pain..it will tell you on your prescription bottle how often you can take it for pain. Nobody can give you medical advise on here you need to call your doctor or pharmacist. Good luck with your dental pain I hope the pain goes away soon!
Avatar f tn Tapering can be really hard - do you have someone you trust who can assist you during this process? I say this a lot but if we had that kind of discipline we probably wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn While I was in hospital I was taking percocet and Motrin for pain and I was sent home with oxycodone and ibuprofen. I am strictly breastfeeding. While in the hospital only my colostrum was coming out.. now my milk has come in and I'm thinking that the pain meds are in my milk bc every time my baby eats he is knocked out cold after only eating for a few minutes, nothing wakes him except a diaper change.. he wakes up to eat again and then will go right back to sleep.
5363981 tn?1366932820 I switch from one opiate to another on a fairly regular basis to combat tolerance. I say take what works best for you. Everyone is different, and at different times!
Avatar m tn You can try the ibruprofen but I doubt that will help to much~You had a lot of work done. No you are not blowing your sobriety. If you feel you can take them responsibly then you will~If you are worried you can have your spouse hold them and give them to you as needed. That's what I have done in the past. Just because you are an addict doesn't mean that you have to be in pain. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar m tn Maybe it can help you, along with the genetic test for exploring your metabolism, can help you convince your doctor to rotate your opiates. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar m tn Thanks so much for replying. I will do just what you advised. I really looking forward to further support from the community and i will keep in touch to help your progess go as smooth as possible. Thanks so very much !!
Avatar f tn You did not mention your age but this is a common complaint after 40. That is something you can discuss with you doctor after his vacation. In the meantime, try adding an NSAID such as Motrin (ibuprofen) or Aleve (naproxen) to your regiment as long as you are not allergic and have no contraindications. I hope this will help and do discuss this with your doctor; but as I said before, I don't think those three meds are to blame. Let me hear from you as to what happens.
Avatar f tn i would stick with suggested amounts of motrin or tylenol and take a lot of baths. my doc always let me use epsom salt, but i don't want to suggest it. you could google it. your first trimester is the MOST important. it is when the brain is being formed, all major organs being formed, etc. you really want to be extra careful during this time.
Avatar f tn Don't alternate Tylenol and motrin, its not recommended. Pick one and stick with it... Of she's vomiting though you can get "Fever all" is an acetaminophen suppository that way she doesn't need to take anything orally. If she's been vomiting motrin is hard on the stomach.
Avatar f tn With prolonged use of these opiates you need to find an state of being where the pain is managable and remember the more you take the more it will be less effective and you will take even more.
Avatar m tn Hi, Please read the Thomas Recipe and Amino Acid Protocol. From where I'm typing this, there's a link towards the lower left hand side of the page to each of these under the title of "Most Viewed Health Pages". Take some Motrin/Aspirin/Tylenol to help with the pain, L-Tyrosine and L-Taurine (amino acids) are supposed to help with energy levels. It sounds like you are having mild withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar m tn I started taking 5mg of oxycodone which helps but I can only take that every 6 hours and it wears off every 4, so for two hours I am in horrible pain. I have removed the temp crowns for about 10 minutes, and no relief! Please, anything that can help.
Avatar f tn The basic technique is to space out the pills you take in a consistent manner until you take only one at night, then half at night and then none. You can try asking a physician to prescribe you some Requip for restless legs, Neurontin for overall distress, Clonidine for blood pressure and general anxiety control and maybe get some over the counter Valerian for sleep and sedation. But, seriously, you must be completely committed to the goal of quitting.
Avatar m tn Why would u even chance it? Like most of us, it sounds like more of a mental crutch then anything else. Look at the question people ask on here, they are not wanting to actually quit only looking for permission or justify using "a little bit" or "another drug" if you read some of these post without trying to relate to them you would think this post are abosuluty insane. It sounds like you've made ahead as far as not using, and that's GREAT!
Avatar f tn For the cold you can take Tylenol Cold/Flu/Sinus or store brand, Motrin Cold/Flu/Sinus or store brand but if you're using liquids for Cold/Flu/Sinus or cough meds like Robitussin make sure they are alcohol free! For a stuffy nose you can have Sudafed(Pseudoephedrine) or Saline Nasal spray and for a sore, scratchy throat you can have Cepacol lozenges or Chloraseptic lozenges. After 28 weeks no Motrin, Advil or Aleve just Tylenol reg or extra strength. Hope this helps and you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn You are able to take Tylenol pm jus dont take any other tylenol products with it.
Avatar f tn Methadone will not interfere with absorption or function of Oxycodone. You may be thinking of another drug. Many ppl find great relief with Methadone.... Indeed there are some interesting articles that praise benefits of Methadone in Pan Management. So relax and enjoy a restful night's sleep. :o) If you have additional question please feel free to post them...... we'll try to be helpful!
Avatar f tn Taking oxycodone or other meds can make you feel sick initially but can sometimes go away but taking it with food can make a big difference. Feel better.
190885 tn?1333025891 It all depends on how advanced your liver disease is. If you have cirrhosis it will speed up the damage to you liver. Sometime you have to take meds. I just had kidney stone surgery a month ago. So what could I do? Tylenol/Acetaminophen (a set a mee' noe fen) is THE SAFEST drug to take. As long as you don't take too much. It is the ONLY analgesic that people with cirrhosis are suppose to take.
Avatar f tn Check in once in a while if you can. You are doing so great! Enjoy your trip!
