Common Questions and Answers about Can you take lunesta with heart medication

lunesta

Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
Avatar n tn Doctors are prescribing this medication and the lunesta for months and years. If you do the research you will find out the companies state it should NEVER be used more than 10-days to 2 weeks at most. If you are having insomnia now wait till you have given up these meds for a few day and weeks. You feel horrible. I will never take another prescription sleep drug.
266660 tn?1189755834 Did you talk with your doctor about taking the two together, like a half hour before bed? I used to take my kpin before bed with some medication that makes you tired together. How does the lunesta work btw?
Avatar m tn From what Ive been told, Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is one of the worst things you can take when it comes to your liver. Im pretty sure the Rx drugs Ambien and Lunesta are both easier on the liver. The only downside of course being they are quite habit-forming.
Avatar n tn Welcome I can tell you whats going on your heart is slowing down so slow it fighting to come back. I don't to be mean BUT I know I'm 12 days clean and I was taking 20 to 27 Vics aday plus I was taking ativan and sometimes ambien. I would go into such a deep sleep I would catch myself fighting for a breath This was going on for the last 3 years! I could not go to the bathroom sometimes I could'nt pee all day.Your body slowly shutting down just like I was!!! PLEASE GET HELP!
Avatar f tn If he is right and they will only allow 10 pills ask what you or the Dr needs to do to get the 30 pills you need to sleep. They will tell you what steps to take. Get phone numbers for your Dr's office to call or ask that the ins comp. either direct you to a web site that has all the info about pre auth and forms or fax the form to your Dr and give them the fax number of your Drs; office. If your Dr. still refuses to work with your ins company you need to find a new dr.
Avatar m tn The opana does the same thing as the fentanyl - - keep those as far apart as you can. Dont mix the lunesta and the diazepam in too close a dose. They will also mirror each others affects. Sounds like Doc Jeff could help a little more if he knew how many of what and at what times he takes them. You have a couple that are used for pain and a couple along the nerve pill line. Its either being dosed improperly or the doses are accumulating and causing a problem for him.
Avatar n tn i use 2 mgs per night and i try to not take it every night cuz i want to keep its effectiveness. you know what your body can take and if its too much then cut down the dose. you need the least amount that works with sleep meds, they arent doing anything that will hurt you if you take less.
Avatar n tn Do you have access to a counselor that you can talk it through with? I assume you have been checked out by the doctor because you have a prescription for Valium...sorry for so many questions..just trying to learn a little more about your situation.
Avatar f tn t say if this is prescribed or you did this on your own. if this is prescribed, by what process did you end up with this much medication at such high doses? How long has this been going on?
Avatar f tn You might try taking a combination of Valerian and Melatonin when you stop the Lunesta. I was taking Lunesta in my early withdrawals and it did make me sleep, but that nasty taste was to much for me. I must say I haven't really slept really well since, but the herbs I mention do help somewhat, I take a hot bath before bed then I take them. From what I've heard Lunesta withdrawals are mainly mental, but you can get addicted to just about anything.
2021910 tn?1339896686 I know u can take tylenol pm when.ur pregnant but I'm not 100%sure when.it comes.to.lunesta. all u can really do is call ur Dr and ask.
1355301 tn?1287967641 I can understand why you're leary about trying the Ambien - I've never had any trouble with it, but of course, everyone is different and how a medication affects one person may or may not be how it affects someone else. I would suggest if you do decide at some point to give the Ambien a try, definitely try it on a night when your husband is not working, just on teh off chance that you do have a "reaction" to it. What dose of teh Lunesta are you currently taking?
Avatar n tn I agree with Tuckamore & was posting something VERY similar as it was posted :-) It does sound as though you have built up a tolerance & I highly encourage that you DON'T take the pills until you feel it. They sit in your system for varying lengths of time & by taking so many or mixing them it can be VERY dangerous. There are SO many knowledgeable people on here that can help with not only their opinions, but their experiences.
Avatar n tn You may still feel sleepy the morning after taking the medication. In patients with liver disorder, a smaller dose of Ambien is generally prescribed. Ambien addiction is a serious problem requiring treatment. The signs of ambien withdrawal are insomnia, fatigue, sweating, stomach cramps, and panic attacks. If a person is addicted to ambien, a doctor should be consulted to seek appropriate professional treatment (Drug rehab programs).
Avatar m tn t, okay, but that will take time. But you can find a psychiatrist right away to put you back on Xanax and taper you off as you should have done. While you can get seizures quitting a benzo abruptly, especially after being on it for so long, since it's been a week that isn't likely to happen now, but the withdrawal you're going through might go away in a week and might last forever, so I'd play it safe and go back on the Xanax and do it the right way.
Avatar m tn Sometimes, i take just lunesta since I have retrograde ejaculation due to trazadone. I take these medications for sleep insommnia. They work. I also take propecia for hair loss (not sure that it's related). I also take cialis/viagra as needed for ED that started about 5-6 years ago. Still trying to figure out cause for ED, docs think primary hypogonadism. Again, not sure if this is related. anyway, i've been on the sleep meds for about 2-3 months.
736314 tn?1276884623 Ativan by itself is safe and I have not heard of any specific interactions to watch out for with it and Buspar together but there are always possibilities with medications that can emerge so give your psychiatrist a call and they can adjust it and titrate it as needed and see what's going on. If you are taking any other medications you could let us know and maybe we could give a little more information but of course your psychiatrist is the one to speak to about this and you should.
Avatar n tn I had an allergic reaction to ambien so I can not personally reccomend it. However I loved my lunesta, it worked very fast. Now, just like with pain pills when you take sleeping pills be prepared to go to sleep. They are aiding you not making you go to sleep. It is not anesthesia so don't expect it to work as such. I no longer can afford the lunesta I go to my local VA for my medications and they don't carry lunesta.
Avatar m tn I think the biggest side effect that you might have will be insomnia. I used to take Lunesta and when I stopped I didn't sleep for a week. On a positive note,,,COngrats on 20days!!!
Avatar f tn I have been on Celexa for over a year and I lowered it to see if I could be ok (depression) without it. But my depression came back. So now I'm upping it back to the dose I was origionally on. It takes about a week for my body to adjust to any dose changes. Since I've been on my typical dosage since 3 weeks ago, I can rule out Celexa. My doctor does know about my Celexa. My first guess it the Birth Control.
Avatar n tn Most sleep medications you are not suppose to take with an autoimmune disorder. I have a sleep problems too and I have Hashis also. I have tried taking the herb chamomile in tablet form..it seems to help some.
Avatar f tn My cardiologist said when you are lying down you are more aware of what your heart is doing. You feel it skip a beat and you get nervous about it, which causes more skips. It's a vicous circle. When mine was doing that I would prop myself up some on a couple of pillows and that would usually calm things down enough to go to sleep.
