Common Questions and Answers about Can you take hydrocodone with zoloft

vicodin

Avatar m tn Can you just give me a simple answer? My Zoloft hasn't started working yet. Can the effectiveness of Zoloft become diminished by using Vicodin or Percocet? Also can you tell me where you got the idea that I have had anxiety on Zoloft?
Avatar f tn Can i just ask how far apart is the Klonopin from the Zoloft? Like ani't you allowed to take them together? was thinking that maybe the two together may balance you out..when taken??? Also i'd love to know why AD's have this effect on people, i get this as well, around the 4th or 5th day i start to feel panicky and jittery beyond belief... it's kinda weird don't ya think that they are mean't to stop the anxiety but for a short time they can make it far worse.
Avatar m tn Short answer: Yes it is safe. Long answer: Vicodin contains paracetamol & hydrocodone, and Zoloft contains sertraline. paracetamol is a non-opioid analgesic, hydrocodone is an opioid, and sertaline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). These classes of drug do not react with each other.
Avatar f tn s a dangerous addiction that anyone who has been through will tell you not to take lightly. Since you suffer from pre-existing depression it can be especially difficult to stop taking hydrocodone. For me the drug became my anti-depressant. Be careful and good luck. DO NOT go back to the hydrocodone to alleviate the withdrawal. Trust me.
Avatar f tn Hi Myrna, First of all congrats on your progress... you're through the worst of it. Since you're having problems sleeping, and seem to have a great rapport with your doctor, I'd recommend that you talk to him/her and see if they can write a prescription for a sleeping pill and/or a mild tranquilizer like diazepam. That's what's been getting me through the nights. You were on such a relatively low dose you should honestly start feeling better any time now.
Avatar n tn i'm using zoloft (vitamin Z), and it's hard to say from my perspective. I was on Z when I started abusing hydrocodone. I tried weaning from zoloft sometime ago, before hc, and it was hard, different from opiate withdrawals. As "worried" mentioned, could help with the depression, if it surfaces. i recommend asking your doc.
543959 tn?1301315419 i feel like i need my fluoxetine again but im scared of the effects it will have on my baby but its going to get worse as it did in my previous 2 pregnancys which i got through with difficulty with no medication. is there anything i can take, any advice would be of help, thanks.
1032715 tn?1315984234 The only problem with this is the mix and not knowing what med is doing what until you are off Zoloft. But if it stops you deteriorating badly then it's the way to go. There are many illnesses and diseases for which people need meds for life. Why would you view depression as being different if you need them? It's the same, an illness requiring treatment. That's all. Your choice is meds or no meds and I choose meds.
Avatar m tn I have no idea, but why on Earth would you take an addictive and toxic drug (vicodin has acetominiphen in it, doesn't it? That's highly liver toxic) to get over another drug that's hard to quit? You're just going to either have to tough it out or go back on the Zoloft and taper off more slowly if it's too much to handle.
Avatar f tn This dizzy/shocky feeling starts when I would usually take the Vicodin. Thanks. When you experienced it with the antidepressant how long did it take to go away?
Avatar f tn These meds are usually prescribed to take every 4-6hrs as needed for pain..it will tell you on your prescription bottle how often you can take it for pain. Nobody can give you medical advise on here you need to call your doctor or pharmacist. Good luck with your dental pain I hope the pain goes away soon!
Avatar f tn I believe any of these drugs you have to taper off with these meds. Even Hydrocodone should have been tapered. If Xanax works for you thats fine but if you take it everyday you can become addicted so be sure to take it under Drs. supervision. It really is only for short term due to addiction tendency. SSRI s are the only med that works for both anxiety and depression for me.
11638679 tn?1457985940 The problem with medication is that it affects people differently and people metabolize drugs differently. There is research showing that there can be permanent effects from taking any drug, though usually it's after taking it for an extended period of time. Antidepressants can affect personality, and they also produce problems that vary in intensity quite a bit when you stop taking them. Some of these withdrawal effects are protracted.
Avatar f tn to space out the pills you take in a consistent manner until you take only one at night, then half at night and then none. You can try asking a physician to prescribe you some Requip for restless legs, Neurontin for overall distress, Clonidine for blood pressure and general anxiety control and maybe get some over the counter Valerian for sleep and sedation and chelated magnesium for muscle relaxation. I have a huge problem with you taking tramadol "for the detox".
Avatar f tn I really appreciate all the support you've given me. I'm glad you're doing well, also. I hope to keep in touch with you, as you inspire me to do the what I need to do.
Avatar m tn Hydrocodone does cause mood changes, maybe for the better for you. If you are taking hydrocodone, then there is no need to take Alieve. Hydrocodone can act as both pain reliever and as mood elevator for you. However, since I cannot examine you, nor do I know your medical history well, it would be best to consult your treating doctor before making nay changes. Take care!
Avatar n tn I have neuropathy and I take gabapentin thr5ee times a day along with hydrocodone so this means that I take three and sometimes four times a day the hydrocodone, can this be too much for my liver?
Avatar f tn t work now Im on xanax and elavil50mgs they both work the elavil is to help me sleep I dont sleep.tell your doctor to take you off zoloft there giving bad reaction to it.
5387794 tn?1373257093 I was on ciprelex, adivan and trazadone until I found out I am expecting. I have an extreem anxiety disorder and depression as well as a panic disorder that gives me night terrors. I decided to go into therapy over taking the mediction for the sake of my baby. It was a hard decision because I have been on meds since I was a teen. I have a friend who took zoloft through out her pregnancy and her son has autusim.
Avatar m tn YOU CAN NOT TAKE HYDROCODONE AND SUBOXONE AT THE SAME TIME!!! not even in the same 24 hours. You will be R E A L L Y sick!!
Avatar n tn If you ask, I think you know the truth...only you can decide when use becomes abuse. What may I ask if I may do you take them for? They change the natural receptors to your brain that makes them on their own but when the opiate feeds that part of your brain it's not like a puzzle piece and your brain stops making the natural receptors on it's own....it's totaly a mind !@#$ You asked, I told you what I have learned and I pray it's correct.
Avatar f tn I see two possibilities, given you seem to want to go back on the Lexapro -- you can try it again after slowly tapering off the Zoloft -- maybe the break in time off it will allow it to work again. Not likely to happen, but possible, depending on how long has passed. Or you could try Celexa, which is almost the same drug as Lexapro but enough different that it might help you the way the Lexapro did. No way to know, though, other than trial and error. Good luck.
1269044 tn?1393189903 I've dealt with gad my whole life too. Zoloft is the first experience with any ad. It seems to be helping considerably. It's not a magic pill but it's helping a LOT. 7 days is awesome! You are through the worst physically atleast. You will get better just give it time. The dreaded word, time. I promise you soon you'll feel much better.
