Can you take hydrocodone with oxycodone

Common Questions and Answers about Can you take hydrocodone with oxycodone

vicodin

Once you get to the point that you would rather be sick for 5-10 days(depends on the person and how much/often you used then to take another pill that might make you feel good for a few hours then you will be able to do it. I'm 7 days clean and going strong. I feel so much better and it is so nice to feel normal again. It is so nice that I do not have to hide my pills or spend my hard earned money and time looking for them. Good luck!!
Is there something I should know here? Also both prescriptions were subsituted with <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>hydrocodon</span>e which contain acetaminophen. Due to my condition I am not supposed to take anything containing acetaminophen. Is there a viable subsitute that I can take?
People love to keep raising their dose to feel the boost which comes around with 40/50mg/day. Then you can up every week. The clinics do not advertise it, but in extreme cases you can get 150mg legally via the clinic. Just be responsible. I lost 50 unneeded pounds last detox. I was in size 7's. It me a while to get to where I could eat. I had to eat small meals. Immodium AD was a must and so was gatorade. Think hard before you take on methadone.
I can say the slower you taper the better it will be! Read as much as you can, you will find tons of great and valuable information! Please keep posting with any questions or if you need some support! There are many wonderful folks here who will help you every step of the way. Take care!!
If I was to take oxycodone then <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>hydrocodon</span>e and went to take a drug test will I fail for the same thing or two different drugs?
let him/her know what is going on and what to expect. This will be difficult but YOU CAN DO IT! If you can....I would get some xanax to help with the anxiety. For me the anxiety/depression was the worst part. I'm on day 4 without any hydros and it is taking all of my strength not to take one. That brings me to another point. Give your pills to another person to hold with strict instructions not to give you any pills. Just remember YOU CAN DO THIS IF YOU REALLY WANT IT....
I am fairly certain I've had Perc scripts with refills. If you get pure oxycodone, it's a schedule II -- but I'm fairly certain, mixed with tylenol/asprin/etc... it's schedule III (same as hydrocodone - alone 2 - mixed 3). In any case, it definately 'seems' stronger to me. 60-70MG of Percs always seemed as intense to me as 120/150 Vicodin - but I didn't like the feeling as much. Everything I've read though, does point to longer/worse WD's >= Methadone WD.
I don't think you should take anything further. You've been doing a great job of cutting back. Remarkable in fact. It shows how much self control you have. Enough self control to see this thru to the end now. I would think with the way you've been cutting back the withdrawal shouldn't be too bad. More of a mental than physical thing. Try it for a few days without any thing. I really think you're ready ...
it sounds to me like you are trying what many attempt to do - bargain with your addiction / the pills. Doesnt work. You say that you want to take a few days off to get everything out of your system.......but then you say that you need the oxy to get you through until next hydro refill? Dont know what tapering plan you are employing...but its one that I am unfamiliar with. I do wish you the best in your endeavors.
Go to meetings, church, an addiction specialist, anything that you feel comfortable with but you have to get ALL the help you can get to keep yourself clean.
so i went back to lortabs first it was 10's then they went to 5's then the doctor went to 10 again and It has helped a lot and if you take lortabs as prescribed and I rarely do that to be honest with you but I am trying my best to get out of the house more often and spend time with kids, pets, shopping if i have the money. My question is what were are the worst of the worst withdrawals from pain meds? In my opinion it is methadone but I could be wrong...
i googled it and it is 5 mg of oxycodone with tylenol in it as well...we are both nurses and have given tylox out to patients over the years...just never stopped to look up the ingredients although of course we knew it was a narcotic...looking back, i remember having tylox before a long time ago for pain and it just made me sleepy.
With the taper plan you are doing the lower amount you w/d from the better. I would plan a time when you have 3-4 days free and just make the jump. I was taking morphine an vic by day 5 I was feeling good enough to go to the gym and swim. Good luck on whatever decision you make.
Having receiving patients for hydrocodone dependency for many years, I seen firsthand how dangerous this drug can be, which is why I am pleased to see the FDA taking steps to help prevent abuse. As you may already know, <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>hydrocodon</span>e drugs can be extremely unsafe if not used properly, but unfortunately many doctors are prescribing these painkillers unnecessarily.
welcome , Did the doctor give you the sub for detox or for pain management ,I hope they had gave you some instruction about taking it . What does the script say?
But, there is a psychological aspect to physical addiction, which tapering will not help with. If you can stay with the agreed on plan and shut your mind off to the cravings and not listen when it says, "but it hurts, and one more will help" then you can lick this. Good Luck!!
I couldn't see him, otherwise because I have no insurance right now. DON'T GIVE UP. I CAN HELP. I'll SHARE WITH YOU. PLEASE E-MAIL ME and LET ME KNOW A LITLE ABOUT YOU. You WOULD BE amazed at the resources out there, WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT,Hang in there, help is right around the corner!!!! Promise!
I'm not having a hard time with the cravings, not bad. If you can do it I'm right there with you! Only you know if it's truly an addiction. I realized it when I took my dead fathers oxy's. I was like that's messed up! I've been told that the fibrosis pain isn't as bad as it is on the stuff. The brain makes it worse so you'll keep wanting more. So we'll see. I'll keep you posted BB. Keep coming back!
let's deal with the physical right away and that way you can get to the those meetings and get started with the emotional part~ So glad you are here....
People who are at the same place as you and then people with long term sobriety that can help you, give advice, guide you through stayin sober. Are you open to going to meetings? If your family can't help you, then I'd say it's probably important to be doing something where you can go and get help and be around people who know what you're going through. It's even harder at our age, at least for me, because all my friends are partying and doing drugs, drinking, going out every night.
Therefore, 5 mg of oxycodone is about 16 mg of <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>hydrocodon</span>e so oxycodone is about 3 times stronger than <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>hydrocodon</span>e. However, geminigirl is right in that everyone is different. I have read that some say hydrocodone works better for their pain than percocet and viceversa. For me, percocet works a lot better for my pain. hydrocodone does not come without acetaminophen...yet. There is a drug in development called, Zohydro that would be a long-acting form of hydrocodone without acetaminophen.
I can only speak for myself but oxycodone seems 50% stonger than <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>hydrocodon</span>e, I could take 1 5mg perc and have the same effect as a 10mg hydro but that may be just me. WD seem harder and last longer on the oxycodone.
first off let me say how sorry i am to hear about your condition, and i wish you nothing but the best! I really am not sure what may have caused this, my "guess" would be it was your withdrawals worsening, as i have never heard of any interactions between hydrocodone and oxycodone "myself." as an addict i mixed both quite frequently with no problems. it possibly could have been an allergic reaction to the hydrocodone itself...??
It's recommended that the person taper off them rather than just quit cold. I'm not sure what you mean by <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>hydrocodon</span>e/oxycodone; he is taking both at the same time? Or is he taking those as a one or the other, depending on what he can get kind of deal? Either way, he should just taper down until he gets to a lower amount, then quit.
i know how hard it is to stop. believe you me. im so proud of you. your so young and i want you to have a good life. a better life. you deserve the best. put yourself first for once. do the right thing for you....
All I have right now are the oxycodone... So how can I take any (if I even can) without getting withdrawals? Should I just take one in a day like the evening of my accident? Will I not get withdrawals if I do that? Please help!
He/she can help you but you will need to get honest about all of the meds you are taking. I wish you the best.
