Common Questions and Answers about Can you take celexa with xanax

celexa

I believe maybe that is und-color: #dae8f4'>what contributed to my miscarriage. Can you please give me any advice on xanax while pregnant? Can you please tell me und-color: #dae8f4'>if celexa will be helpful with my anxiety ?? At this point I do not plan on starting the celexa...I do not want to add more medication to my system that may not work and then have to get off of it und-color: #dae8f4'>if I do get pregnant...I am so afraid of the withdrawal symptoms...I remember them when I stopped the Paxil...they were horrible !!
Have any of you noticed a dund-color: #dae8f4'>ifference between 10 mg and 20 mg of celexa. I took celexa in the past and was on 20 mg. This time I'm only taking 10 mg and I still have mild anxiety/depression.
The first few days you might feel more anxious - but the xanax should help you get through this. Just keep in contact with your dr. the first week or so und-color: #dae8f4'>if you are concerned about any side-effects that pop up. They should be relatively mild, and they will go away. Hope this helps..
However, I'm not taking a benzo anymore b/c I felt like it was countering the positive effects of the celexa by 'depressing' my CNS. I would take xanax at night to sleep and found that when it wore off, I would have twice the anxiety as normal. I felt like the xanax was a 4hr bandaid, and the after-effects (dbl anxiety) just weren't worth it. Once I cut xanax outta my diet, I noticed the celexa working like a charm, and that I no longer needed the bandaid of xanax...
und-color: #dae8f4'>if you are suffering from anxiety, apparently you can heighten that problem und-color: #dae8f4'>if you take too little celexa. So that is a problem, experimenting and taking notes while trying to find und-color: #dae8f4'>if it is working, all the while being aware that und-color: #dae8f4'>if you don't take enough you get more tense. I was lucky and got relief in a week, but my pharmacist told me about the low dosage problem some people get.
So she thought it would be a good idea to try an antidepressant since I have been diagnoised with depression even before my addiction. She put me on 10mg of celexa and 0.25mg of xanax as needed. Heres my question has anyone ever used celexa before? I know we are all dund-color: #dae8f4'>ifferent but I was wondering und-color: #dae8f4'>if you could tell me how it worked good or bad.
My sister takes it for the exact same reason. Anxiety runs in our family. She has no trouble with celexa. Can anyone tell me about sides effects you may have experienced.
You might try something like melatonin or Calms Forte for the sleep problem, and hopefully you're in therapy to figure the whole thing out. You can take celexa with xanax, but just be aware all of these can cause insomnia, it just depends on the person.
My advice is to taper off the celexa first, do it slowly, and when you're over it then do the xanax, as it can help cushion the celexa withdrawal und-color: #dae8f4'>if there is any, which there might very well not be. Make sure your psychiatrist knows how to do this, particularly the xanax, before you start; und-color: #dae8f4'>if you don't like the answers, get a dund-color: #dae8f4'>ifferent psychiatrist. A good one makes all the dund-color: #dae8f4'>ifference.
So while celexa wasn't approved specund-color: #dae8f4'>ifically for anxiety conditions, Lexapro, the newest model of celexa, was. Of course, it doesn't take much, you only need 500 mildly anxious people and double blind studies and walla! FDA approval.
Has anyone had any experience with any of the combinations listed? (xanax, dalmane, celexa, alcohol)How do they make you feel? Are they deadly? Should they be prescribed together? I'm not the taker of these but love someone who is. I often pick up these prescriptions. I know this person drinks every night, takes extra xanax and their speech becomes slurred. This person only weighs about 120 pounds. How worried should I be? Please give any info you have.
But please don't let your primary doctor tell you that you can just cold turkey the xanax and start Klonopin. You absolutely must taper off the xanax very slowly. The usual way this is done is to "step out" a very small amount of xanax and "step in" the equivilant amount of Klonopin, keeping this process up until the cross over is complete. This does not guarantee there will be no unpleasantness during this process.
xanax is a benzodiazepine, and the body reacts to benzodiazepines almost like alcohol in terms of tolerance of a length of use. You should probably be on a long-term medication and then use xanax sparingly when needed. I take 300mg of Luvox, and have .5mg xanax for times when I get too anxious.

BuT DETOX A NA MEETINGS KEEP YOu OFF IT ! I STILL AT TIMES HAVE A BuRNING IN MY STOMACH WANTING xanax AFTER HAVING ZERO xanax since 1994 & I WILL NEVER, EVER TOuCH OR LOOK AT xanax AGAIN, NEVER EVER !
I'M SO TIRED OF THE SuFFERING and BOuNCING AROuND FROM ONE MEDICATION TO ANOTHER, and THE xanax IS THE ONLY RELIEF I EVER GET WITH ABSOLuTELY NO SIDE EFFECTS. CAN YOu PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ON THE xanax, THE LONG TERM uSE OF IT, and WITH THE SMALL AMOuNTS I'M TAKING und-color: #dae8f4'>if I JuST NEED TO FIND ANOTHER DR THAT'S COMFORTABLE WITH PRESCRIBING IT TO ME? I'VE DONE THE PSHYCOLOGIST THING and HAD SOME PROGRESS WITH IT ALONG W/THE PRESCRIPTION FOR xanax.
Can taking 2 - 2.5 mgs of xanax every make you feel exhausted. I have no energy everyday. I'm either depressed out of my mind because I am not drinking or its the meds because I am taking it for anxiety but I am not really anxious all the time. Just tired. This gut I'm seeing wanted me to take 4 mgs for my anxiety. He says its the anxiety thatsmaking me tired or shall I say excruiatinly exhausted. I had blood tests and nothin showed. So und-color: #dae8f4'>whatever going on is in myn head or the xanax.
I am new to this site. I know you can take both together. I was on celexa 40 mg. and was also given a prescription for xanax. I was to take the xanax.when I got so jumpy inside that I couldn't stand it. I used it as an as needed basis and was fine taking both together.
I agree with janedoe...i have been on xanax 21 years and take 4mgs a day..im hooked cant get off....and all aliong it was my thyroid and hormones.get off the xanax.
I don't know und-color: #dae8f4'>if I should get off celexa or just deal with these side affects.2 years ago I was on 10 mg of celexa along with. 05 of xanax. and never had this kinda problems.
Has anyone taken celexa? und-color: #dae8f4'>if so can you please share your experience with it. How many mg are you or did you take? Did it help with anxiety? How long was the adjustment period (did it increase your anxiety)? Did you gain or loss weight? Please share your experience with celexa. Thank you for your advice!
I have take xanax XR at the same and at much higher dosages. The xanax will always make you tired und-color: #dae8f4'>if you take alot of it, but there is definitely a "getting used to" stage,. For me it was about 3-4 wks each time it was changed. The general help for anxiety feeling will also even out, but personally that dosage did nothing for severe anxiety and anxiety attacks, I would say und-color: #dae8f4'>if you aren't used to or rid of most side effects in 4 wks then its not the right medication for you.
gad and social anx disorder but found it did not help with the depression at all , now i am starting on celexa 20 mg once a day with effexor , would it help und-color: #dae8f4'>if i took celexa and welbutrin instead for my depression and anxiety....
Should I come off the celexa? Is the celexa causing the thoughts or was coming off the celexa causing the thoughts? I have read online that others have had this happen and some have stopped taking the meds and others have just stuck with it and the thoughts have gone away. und-color: #dae8f4'>what do I do? HELP PLEASE!!!!
In the meantime, und-color: #dae8f4'>if they are particularly awful, as you have described, you can ask your doctor to prescribe some quick acting anti-anxiety drugs to help you with this period.
yes you can. i actually worry about that stuff constantly, i have huge phobia of mixing medications properly. I take celexa which is in the same class of anti-depressants that you are taking and i have taken xanax with it at the same time. i have preiviously taken zoloft which i took ativan with at the same time und-color: #dae8f4'>if i needed it.
you should discuss your needs also so that you can take care of yourself too. You are very lucky to have a doctor who is trying to help you. Maybe you could do some research to see some other medications that could help and discuss those options with your doctor. btw Im pretty sure people who are tapering of xanex should be done extremely slow as in at .25mill intervals with weeks in between. The side effects are extreme and include possible death seizure and the list goes on and on.
He said I could just stop taking the Cymbalta 60 mg and xanax .5 mg 2x a day and start the celexa 10 mg and Klonopin 1 mg - 1/2 to 1 tablet twice daily as needed. I have been on xanax .5 mg for years. My concern is this...will I have withdrawals switching directly from the Cymbalta to the celexa and switching from the xanax to the Klonopin? Any input would greatly help - my Dr. seems to rush me out the door before I can ask all my questions!!! Thanks!!
So it all depends on how honest you can be with your doc. and how honest they can be with you. and everybody reacts dund-color: #dae8f4'>ifferently to these drugs. But overall, it is probably best to lay off the MJ until you've got your anxiety / depression under control.
has alprazolam helped anyone with agoraphobia? und-color: #dae8f4'>what were your side effects with alprazolam? should I take alprazolam? can I get hooked on alprazolam? should I have been prescribed alprazolam und-color: #dae8f4'>if I drink alcohol frequently? Please leave any message that you think could help me in deciding wether or not to use alprazolam.
