Avatar n tn For the fever, you can give her over the counter tylenol also called acetaminophen and also could use ibuprofen. you can check with your doctor about that but I get it at the drug store or grocery store and it works well to bring down a fever and make a child more comfortable. Loosen her clothing, take blankets off her bed. Do NOT give her a cool bath but you can give her a wet washcloth on the forehead. Also, really important with a fever----- keep her hydrated.

Just be easy with it if you think you getting kidney pain. This is important to reduce the inflammation not just the pain. 6. Wear tight underwear. Off course not too tight. 7. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out.

Avatar n tn In the meantime, he was prescribed 10 days of amoxicillin, which he did not take properly. It's been 2 weeks since his visit and his jaw and cheek and swollen and painful. He went to the ER, at his dentists suggestion, and was given ibuprofen and 500mg pencillin 4 x day, which we are monitoring, to be sure it gets taken. Today is day 2, and he is still in pretty severe pain and the swelling seems to have subsided a bit, but not noticeably. I am very concerned for his health.
Avatar m tn Steam inhalations and salt water gargles can help. take (OTC) Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain. Regards.
Avatar m tn you can try the ibruprofen but I doubt that will help to much~you had a lot of work done. No you are not blowing your sobriety. If you feel you can take them responsibly then you will~If you are worried you can have your spouse hold them and give them to you as needed. That's what I have done in the past. Just because you are an addict doesn't mean that you have to be in pain. Hope you feel better soon.

Please snuggle in and make yourself comfy. I know you can do it!
Avatar f tn Initially the pain will come back once the effect of medication wears off. you need to take the full course of antibiotics. Along with the medication take steam. Drink hot fluids. When you are pain free and can comfortable do it, try the valsalva maneuver to clear the ear: take a deep breath and blow while pinching your nostrils shut and closing your mouth. Visit your ENT as advised. take care!
Avatar n tn Here is from Wikipedia, but it raises more questions than it answers, in a way. Yes, a reaction to amoxi can happen later (this says greater than 72 hours). But also there is something called an amoxicillin rash that is not an allergy to amoxicillin.
Avatar n tn you should try some warm saline gargles and steam inhalation and see if it helps with your symptoms. 'you should take steps to relieve pain and inflammation. Recovery may take a week or two. * Drink warm, soothing liquids — such as soup, broth and tea. * Gargle with warm salt water. * take acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) or ibuprofen (advil, Motrin, others) to help reduce fever and decrease pain.
Avatar n tn I stopped the Ibuprophen and it does seem to be a bit better but I'm really suffering with the discomfort in my jaw and I dont want to take anythin stronger since I am a professional who does need to function in a very demanding position that keeps me very busy and I have to be alert. I am starting to think that it is possibleI may have developed an allergy to Ibuprophen, or could this simply be a somewhat bearable side effect now rearing it's head.
Avatar f tn Ibprophen and hydrocodone are not antibiotics BUT amoxicillin is and can cause yeast infections. The yeast infection should not interfere with your period. It is very uncommon for men to get these infections through intercourse, but he can get it in his mouth if you have oral sex. The period probably won't flush out the infection, you need meds to help get rid of it. Go to Walgeens, CVS, or RITEAID and go to the isle with the condoms and lubrication, that's where the Monistat is.
Avatar dr m tn Have you tried various home remedies, over-the-counter medications or even prescription medications with no help? If you answered yes to any of the above, what you will read below will show you how critical it is to breathe well through your nose.
