t know about an overdose, but taking more than you are supposed to can cause sleep walking, but in my case it was sleep driving. It is very dangerous and you should not play around with it. I HATE AMBIEN!!!

Sleep/Insomnia was the hardest part for me as well. You can try the medication-ambien that has been prescribed to you. Just be careful that you dont abuse it,,you know what I mean? Sleep cycles can take 1-2 weeks to get regulated again. Hang in there and I hope you get a good nights rest tonight.

I want to feel the cool morning walk I take with the dogs, the hikes we take with the kids that end up at a lake. Vicodin has now taken that away from me. It used to help me keep going, now I just want to get it overwith. Instead of being so concerned that there is another prescription out there for me, I will be calling my docotor and telling her to cancel that next one, I would have to go through w/d anyway before I could pick it up.

Sorry to hear you're going through this. I, too, thought if I followed what the doctors said and only took what they ordered, I'd never get withdrawals. Hah! I'm a little annoyed because I do feel I was misled. But back to your problem. As far as sleep goes, did you stop taking the Ambien or is it just not working? You can try melatonin (it's natural.) I've tried it and it helps, though some people say it doesn't do anything and others think it's great.

I have abused Ambien for about three years. I normally take between 6 to 8 a day. As of today I haven't taken one in about three weeks. The physical withdrawal stopped after a few days but the mental cravings are driving me insane! I think about them all day everyday, I eat everything in sight trying to fill the empty feeling I have from not having them. I really feel like saying f*** it and going to getting some. Anyone with advice please help. How can I stop craving them?

Thanks Sara and Tram! You were both here and gave me hope when I got here. Brightfuture, nothing to be scared about. Take it one day at a time, kicking one drug at a time. When you look at my story, one drug led to the other. But I'm here to tell you it all can be reversed and you can get your life back. My taper wasn't really tough, it just took a period of time. I kept thinking: "well, if I wasn't on the taper what would I be doing? I'd be using lots of Ambien for sure.

m on the verge to a substance abuse problem because I am always altering my moods. I will take a vicodin and notice I need to take a zanax with it because I feel irritable (or anxious). I take another vicodin in about 6 hours with my zanax. The zanax is normal dosage, 2 x's daily 1mg, but I'm noticing that I've increased to probably 3 a day. Brain heals pretty slowly, so it may take you as long as a couple of months to get rid of feelings of sluggishness, restlessness and depression. The best thing you can do is take good care of yourself, eat healthy food, stay hydrated, keep active and busy. Stay away from sugar, soda, and simple carbs. Do not consume caffeine at least 6 hours prior to bedtime.

As the w/d gets less. You can usually cut that back to 1-3mg. For RLS take Natural Calm with calcium, also eating bananas helps.

The problem with ambien is if you don't get in bed and lay down right away and you stay awake basically your brain will fall asleep while your body functions on autopilot. You literally dream with your eyes open (hallucinations). I did this too one night. it's quite a scary experience.

During ambien I fell asleep with food in my mouth. I once fell out at a stoplight while waiting for it to change. My wife and Son have even better stories, but I dont recall them...isnt that stuff wonderful??

Energy can take a while to return. Keep up with your vitamins and try and get some exercise. I know it's hard but it will help. I bet in another week you will be feeling better. Not great but a lot better. If the depression continues, then I would go back on the antidepressants. Hang in there and be patient with yourself.

The valium and ativan must be tapered very slow and under a doctors care. There are risks involved if one tries to stop those all at once. Can you go to your doctor and have him advise you of how to taper off of these meds? It is much safer having a doctor monitoring during the detox process.

My biggest problem is I have severe depression following family issues. Take prozac 60 mg, now wellbutrin 150mg a day. Does anyone know, can vicodin cause you to be more depressed while taking it? You can Take benadryl and unisom. Unisom taken with vitamin b12 they actually prescribe to help with morning sickness.

Hopefully this holiday weekend will give you a chance to see how you do with it. If you work this weekend, do you have someone that can drive you for a few days, if you feel like your driving might be impaired?

The only medication u need to watch out for while taking cipro is blood thinners, you can mix over the counter pm med or ambien , but i agree you always need to check with your doctor or pharmacy for the will have a list of all meds you are taking and side effects to all
