Common Questions and Answers about Can you have kidney stones and not know it

kidney-stones

Avatar f tn Your symptoms can be due to cystitis or urinary bladder infection, UTI, kidney stones and also due to cancers (bladder, kidney). A CT scan of the abdomen would be more fruitful. I am not sure what pelvic examination you had—vaginal swabs? But a complete STD panel should be done. Urine should be cultured to know if there is any organism causing this. Clotting disorders, diabetes, hypertension etc can all involve kidney and cause blood in urine. Hence all these possibilities should be ruled out.
5463760 tn?1368383965 m just a patient like you, but please stop back and let us know what your docs say regarding your test results, etc. Kidney stones can cause pain and sometimes not show up, too, like mine. But usually they do. Actually a CT Scan w/o dye is the gold standard for finding them unlike ultrasound or CT with dye. But, I guess the dye would show other areas of blockage maybe . not sure.

714049 tn?1232641094 ruled out kidney stones. What could it be? I have constant pain, and the nausea is brought on with even a sip of water. PS: No chance I'm pregnant, I've had a hysterectomy, but do have my ovaries.
3987674 tn?1348933041 Certainly, since being hypo slows down the metabolism, there are all kinds of digestive and metabolic problems that can result, but kidney stones are not high on that list. Once we have one autoimmune, we are more like to get another than the general population is to get their first. So, yes, there is a connection. However, that connection is not necessarily cause and effect. We just may be genetically more susceptible to autoimmune disaese.

Avatar f tn I had Lithotripsy in 2007 and passed lots of gravel, sand and tiny stones without a stent. I had the same procedure done 5 days ago, but this time a stent was put in. I have strained everything but a little at the hospital. I've yet to pass anything and the new nurse at the doctors office said thats because the stones were broken up and you won't see of feel it.
681148 tn?1437661591 Hi FurballsMom! I take topamax! It is not for acute migraines at all, but it is a preventative!! You take it daily... I take mine once a day but sometimes people will split the dose up so that they take it a couple of times a day. I take it to prevent my migraines. A friend of mine has really bad neuropathy and she takes topamax to prevent the neuropathy pain.
Avatar f tn I wonder if anybody else has experienced diarrhea with kidney stones? I have had upwards of 40 kidney stones in the past four years but somehow still have no answers as to why my body is producing these or how to relieve them. And i never fail to turn up new symptoms or troubles. I have been having dark urine and a lot of kidney pain lately and I'm sure I have another stone working its way out of my kidney...
Avatar m tn While they have diagnosed me with kidney stones and they said that I have a couple of small stones in each kidney, but they are not blocking anything so they are not the cause of my pain. I have also been to a physical therapist who said it is not musculoskeletal. I have also been having hematuria for at least 2 months. I need to know what is the source of my pain and blood in my urine.
Avatar m tn My gynecologist did a pelvic ultrasound which was completely normal. She thought it could be kidney stones. I went to the er in pain and they did a renal and aortic ultrasound which were normal. I went to the er again a few days later still in pain and they did a ct scan. They told me I had several small stones in each kidney but they weren't the cause of my pain and they sent me home. I am at a complete loss! I continue to have these pains nonstop.
Avatar f tn People that I have spoken to have all said it sounds like kidney stones. But after xrays,ct scans it has shown no stones but a cyst that is growing. Could this be the cause of my pain as my consultant says that the cyst cannot be the cause of pain. I have been on morphine now for 4yrs. Can anyone help pls.
Avatar f tn t have any as Stage 2 CKD is pretty tolerable. Then again, you may have a VERY LOW pain threshold and it truly is a symptom of the CKD. I have Stage 2 myself, although mine is asymptomatic (no visible symptoms). Only reason I even know is because I do a yearly renal-function test due to having PKD & Cystinuria (I have a ton of cysts on my left side as well as making a ton of kidney-stones... again, all on my left side).
15905440 tn?1443863328 I would get it analyzed so you can see what it's made out of. You need to know so you can focus on staying away from those things.
